D.N.Angel: The return of Dark and Krad.

Sota smiled, "Cool. By the way, before I forget, is everything okay? Those girls you were sitting with seemed kind of scared when they saw me."

 

"everything is fine, there is no reason for them to afraid of you, right?" said Kairi remebering the coversation at lunch.

 

Sota shook his head, "No, not really. The only time anyone has any reason to worry is if someoby messes with my friends," Sota looked down while walking and paused for a moment.

 

"oaky." said Kairi sighing slightly.

 

Sota sighed and closed his eyes, "....they told you about my being arrested, didn't they?"

 

"yeah they did." said Kairi she looked at the road ahead of them.

 

Sota looked straight ahead, "Is there anything about it you want to know?"

 

"i want to know why you were arrested." said Kairi looking down at her feet.

 

Sota saw a nearby bench and sat down, "...it started a few years ago. I wasn't as...calm, as you know me now. The first time was because somebody was saying my dad killed my mom. I couldn't handle that, and I attacked the guy."

 

Kairi sat down beside Sota, "Okay...and how about the other times?" sadi Kairi looking straight in front of her.

 

Sota looked away, trying hard to avoid eye contact, "...the second time...I got caught in the middle of mugging. Some guy tried to get my wallet, but gave him the first punch. A cop came around the corner, and the guy said I was trying to mug him...the cop believed him, since he was covered in bruises and I wasn't. It didn't help my case that I was arrested once before, either.

Sota looked down, trying to fight the tears, "The last time...it was so stupid. I lost my temper last year. It...it was the anniversary of my parents death. I just wanted to be left alone, forever. I went to the cemetary where my parents were, and there was this guy, standing over my parents graves," Sota's knees started to shake, "and...he was just...he kept saying all these things about them, I just...," Sota covered his face with his hands, barely speaking, "...I almost went too far with him."

 

Kairi was fight back tears herself, she stayed silent for awhile. She looked at Sota then back at the ground. She couldn't find any words to saw. so...thats why they wanted me to stay away from him. thought Kairi, they wanted to try and protect me.

 

Sota kept his head in his hands. Tears were starting to come through. He stayed silent, shaking a little.

 

Kairi looked at Sota and tried to find something to say.

 

Sota was still crying. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you," he managed, "....I'm trying hard to change, but...it's hard to do that when..." He choked a little.

 

"Sota...it's okay...I'm sorry I even asked." said Kairi comeing a little closer to Sota.

 

Sota shook his head, his face still covered, "I should've been straight with you from the start. I was...I was afraid that, if you ever found out, you'd..."

 

"I'd what?" said Kairi, she looked at Sota.

 

"You'd leave." He managed, "You're the first friend I've had that I've ever been this close to. Nobody else knows me this well."

 

"Even if you told me sraight from the start...I would never leave." said Kairi smileing slightly.
