D.N.Angel: The return of Dark and Krad.

kairi began sweating slightly her fever was still there.

 

Sota saw Kairi sweating. He went to a nearby sink, filled a bowl with cold water, got a small towel, and dipped it into the bowl. He brought the bowl next to Kairi, squeezed the water out of the towl, folded it, and gently placed it onto Kairi's forehead.

 

kairi flinched slightly, but then resumed sleeping peacefully.

 

With saw Kairi having trouble sleeping at first. He jumped from the area he was eating, and curled up into a ball next to her. Sota watched Kairi, occasionally changing her towl for a cooler one.


A few hours passed, and the sun was starting to rise. It was around 5 am. Sota changed Kairi's towl again.

 

kairi woke up agian. "Sota...your still here?" said Kairi weakily.

 

"Yep," said Sota, soaking the towl he removed from Kairi's forehead. With was still sleeping, next to Kairi.

 

"you should get ready for school...." said Kairi. she was still very weak.

 

"Forget school. You're health is more important. Besides, it's 5 a.m.; the nurse doesn't arrive for another 3 hours, and even then, you're still in pretty unstable condition. There's only one nurse, and she has other patients; if something happens to you, she might not get to you in time." Sota soaked another towl, and replaced the one on Kairi's forehead, "I'm staying put, and that's final."

 

"okay..." said kairi sighing slightly then coughing, once she stopped she looked at the near by window.

 

Sota got up, and got a paper cup full of cold water. He walked back to Kairi, "Are you thirsty?"

 

"No...I'm not..." said Kairi coughing agian. "Il'l be fine without the water." Kairi looked at Sota.

 

Sota nodded, then placed the water on a stand next to Kairi's bed. He took out a thermometer from a drawer, took the packaging off, shook, and gently placed it into Kairi's mouth. After a moment, he took it out and read the temperature, "...well, the good news is, you're fever's starting to go down."

 

"okay..." said kairi coughing agian. She still felt very, very weak.

 

Sota frowned a little, and sat next to Kairi's bed, holding her hand, "I'm sorry you're not feeling well...is there anything I can do?"

With woke up, and crawled a little closer to Kairi's shoulder, "Kyuu?"

 

"there is nothing you could do..." said Kairi, she looked back out of the window.

 

Sota looked up at the clock. It was almost 8. He tried to think of some ways to cheer Kairi up.

"You said that the nurse would let you go home today, right?"

 

"yeah..." said Kairi, still looking out of the window.

 

Sota smiled, "Tell you what. After school, and the nurse gives you the okay, how about I cook you up whatever you like for dinner tonight?" With started getting excited and started jumping up and down, "Kyuu! Kyuu!"

 

"that sounds great...." said kairi, she looked at sota and smiled.

 

"I'm glad," smiled Sota. He looked at Kairi fondly, and shook his head slightly. He reached over, and gently held Kairi's hand. With went over and curled up into a ball next to Kairi's shoulder, snoring silently. Sota raised an eyebrow at With's snoring, "Honestly, he could wake Elvis if he wanted to..."
