"yeah..he could." said kairi looking down at her hand and then at with, snoreing loudly.

 

Sota still smiled at Kairi. He knelt down, and gave her a peck on the cheek, "I don't know what it is about you," he started, "but...you look beautiful, even when ill." He gently rubbed the back of Kairi's hand.

 

Kairi looked at sota, she couldn't but to turn red. "Thank you...I guess..." said Kairi weakily, she turned her head to hide her face tha was turning red.

 

Sota tried holding in his laughter as Kairi hid her head.

With's ears perked up. He looked at the doorway; he heard a noise. Sota stopped laughing and looked at the doorway. He heard it, too. Footsteps.

 

Kairi looked at the the door listening as the footsteps came closer.

 

The girls that were with Kairi earlier came in. They stopped as soon as they saw Sota, sitting next to Kairi.

 

Kairi turned her head away from the door and closed her eyes. Why does it have to be them? thought Kairi angerily.

 

"Can I help you all?" asked Sota, seeing Kairi getting agitated. The girls looked at each other, then one of them spoke, "We heard Kairi was still sick, so we wanted to see if she was okay." Another one spoke up, "I thought we were going to make sure he wasn't going to hurt her? OW!" That particular girl got hit in the head by another girl. Sota rolled his eyes, "She's getting better; most of her symptoms are gone. It's down to a mild fever, but she's still very tired."

With watched the girls carefully.

 

Kairi acted asleep now, She relax trying not to let her angery out.

 

"We want to hear it from, Kairi," said one of the girls in front. Sota suppressed a laugh. She had her nose up high, like she was superior. Sota looked back, seeing Kairi's head still hidden, "You want to be the one to wake her up? Be my guest, but considering how tired she is, you better be prepared for her temper. She about bit your head off before she collapsed," Sota looked the girl in the eye, "You think she won't do worse in this condition?"

The girl hesitated, looking slightly afraid. She looked back at the other girls. A few of them shook their heads. She turned back to Sota, "We'll check on her later. Just don't try anything on her while we're gone." The group turned around, left the room, and closed the door behind them. When Sota heard the hallway doors close, he turned towards Kairi.

"They left. You can stop pretending now."

 

"Okay...Thanks Sota." said Kairi, She looked at him and smiled, she sighed after thinking about the annoying girls. "they are really getting on my nerves." said Kairi.

 

"How'd you get mixed up with them, anyway?" Sota asked, sitting on the bed, next to her knees, "You don't seem to have anything in common with them." With migrated from the bed, to the top of Kairi's stomach, "Kyuu?" he tilted his head.

 

"I don't know really, the just randomly started to talk to me..." said Kairi looking at the ceiling.

 

Sota looked at the doorway, "They don't seem to like me, that's for sure..." he started to laugh, "You know, if you continue to hang out with me, they might stop being your 'friends'."

 

"I know...I would be glad if they never talked to me agian..." said Kairi weakily coughing agian.

 

"Well, if this keeps up, between you and me, that just might happen," Sota said, smiling. He leaned towards Kairi a little, and put his hand on her forehead. Her fever was still going down, but very slowly. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

 

"I still feel very tired." said Kairi coghing agian, "but I also feel better."

 

"Aw, I'm sorry," said Sota, gently brushing some of Kairi's hair off her face, "Really, I wish I could help you feel better in some way..."

 

"it's okay." said Kairi, "I don' think you can help in any way."

 

"Hmm," said Sota. He looked at a clock, "Well, we won't have to worry about it much longer. It's only an hour til 3," he looked back at Kairi, "Is there any kind of dinner you've thought about having, yet?"
