D.N.Angel: The return of Dark and Krad.

Kuno rolled his eyes, a smile playing at his lips. Him and his normal life.

 

Crap, crap, crap! he thought while running at top speed, I can't afford to lose this job! He didn't know why his boss always called him for this sort of thing, either. He had plenty of people for his restaurant, and Sota didn't work til later tonight, anyway. Who's idea was it to take that job anyway?!

Oh, yeah. His.

 

Kairi sat up in her bed and was engulfed in pain. She looked at her swollen wrist. "How long was I out?" thought Kairi looking at the clock. "Oh great it's already lunch.†Thought Kairi "how am I going to explain this to my teachers.†There was a bang against Kairi’s door. Kairi quickly stood up and ran to the door. “Kairi open up!†yelled Kairi’s dad. “Okay.†Said Kairi opening the door she was pushed backwards and slapped in the face. “Don’t ever lock your door again!†said Kairi’s dad. “Okay,†said Kairi rubbing her now bruised cheek. She stood up, “Dad I’m heading to school…†said Kairi. “It’s no use going to school now.†Said Kairi’s dad. “But why?†said Kairi. “You’ll stay home.†Said Kairi’s dad. “Can I at least go to the store?†said Kairi. “Fine and only the store! Take you cell phone!†said Kairi’ dad slamming the door.Kairi's dad has been drinking ever since kairi's mom died three years ago. Kairi put a black skirt on along with a white under shirt and black long sleeved shirt. (Kairi wears long sleeved shirts or jackets to hide the bruises on her arms because of her dads abuse). Kairi grabbed her purse and left the house. She headed to the doctor’s office to get her wrist checked.

 

*huff huff*

Sota jumped over a trash can as he turned the corner. Three more blocks to go. He just might make it after all. He made a quick turn. Two blocks left!

"Almost th-OOF!"

Sota fell on his back from the collision. He quickly shook his head, to get his bearings straight.

"Sorry, my fault! I wasn't watching where I was-huh?"

He looked at the girl he knocked down: Aside from being dazed, she had long brown hair, blueish-purple eyes (an odd shade to Sota), wearing a black long sleeved shirt and skirt. She clutched her head as she looked for her purse.

"Kairi? What are you doing here?"

 

"oh...I was heading to the doctors office."

Kairi grabbed her purse and stood up. She removed her hand from her face and revealed a huge brusie on her cheek.

"I better get goiong my dad wants me home in an hour..."

 

"Okay, I'm sorry I-," Sota rubbed his head, but then recoiled in surprise as he saw Kairi's cheek, "Oh, geez! Did I do that?! I AM SO SORRY! Are you okay?!"

 

"No you didn't hurt me I just fell earlier and I hurt my wrist badly so...thats why I'm going to the dotors office." said Kairi. She looked at Sota and thought "I can't tell him what actully happened...if I did my dad would surely kill me..." Kairi was trying not to look upset.

 

Sota breathed a sigh of relief, "Okay. Do you want some help getting to the doctor?"

 

"No...I don't." kairi looked down the road where she saw Kira her older brother, "sorry but I really need to get going."

Kairi turned and began to walk away.

Meanwhile not far down the road Kira,Kairi's older brother, saw the colision and began to fallow Kairi as she walked away.

 

Weird...how did she get that bruise? Sota thought.

Sota continued running to get to the restaurant.

 

Kira ran to catch up with his sister, he dodged all the people going somewhere.
Finally he caught up with Kairi.
Kairi how did you get that brusie?"
"I just fell."
"Kairi dad did it didn't he?"
"No I already told you I fell."
Kairi began to get angry.
"Kairi don't lie."
"Fine dad did it to me!"
"Thank you for finally telling me that..."
Kairi finally made it to the doctors office and Kira was with her talking about life.
"Kairi the doctor will see you now." said a nurse gideing kairi to a room.
"Hello kairi how are you feeling?" said the doctor.
"I'm fine." said kairi.
"Then why..." the doctor noticed the huge brusie "What happened?"
"I just fell and hurt my wrist." said Kairi
"okay let me see it." said the doctor.
kairi showed him her wrist.
The doctor examined it and said "you sprained your wrist."
"Okay." said Kairi.
A few minuties later the doctor wrapped up kairi's wrist.
"kairi leave this wrapp on for the whole day and night it can
not get wet so take it off when your in water." said the doctor.
"Okay." said Kairi.
the doctor dismissed her.
Kairi and kira where just walking around and talking now.
Kairi was mad at herself for blowing Sota off.
"sorry kira I have to get home." said Kairi running off. "Bye." said Kira.

Kairi returned home and her dad slapped her on her face in the same spot as before. "Kairi your late!" said kairi's dad. "I know." said Kairi. "Good you should know." said Kairi's dad. Atobe ran up to kairi and kairi said "Can I please take Atobe for a walk he wants to go." "Your going out agian?" said Kairi's dad. "Yes but this time with Atobe. He a dog, he needs to get some freh air too." said Kairi. "Fine walk Atobe for an hour and the take Tamaki out...shes the one that needs out." said Kairi's dad. "Okay." said Kairi.

Kairi hooked Atobe to a leash and took him for a walk.
Kairi was looking for sota.

 

Sota barged into the back of the restaurant, heaving. The manager tapped his feet angrily.

"Sorry I'm late, Mr. Saehara! I ran into someone along the way here, and had to make sure she was alright!" Sota breathed.

Saehara stood up straight from the counter he was leaning on, "That's the third time, Sota. I know you have a lot on your plate, but this can't continue." He walked to a stack of plates, picked them up, and put them next to Sota, "Get dressed, get to work, then, when you're done, come see me." He walked off.

Sota sighed. He just knew it: He was going to get fired. So much for a good day...

 

Kairi felt bad agian for blowing Sota off.
Kairi contined to look for Sota...Kairi gave up and went to get tamaki. I guess I'll see him later...I was think about tellng the truth but oh well...thought kairi walking Atobe home.Kairi began feeling ill...I better hurry up and get tamaki walked...thought kairi coughing. Kairi began to feel light headed.

 

"Thank you, sir! Come again!"

Sota sighed in relief as the last customer left. He quickly went to the front door, flipped the sign that read 'closed', and locked the door. He then went to the back and changed into the clothes he came in. This was it.

"Mr. Saehara?"

Mr. Saehara turned around as Sota approached him. He didn't look too thrilled when he looked at him.

"Sota, how long have you been working with us?" Sota thought for a moment, "Um... I don't know, two months?" Saehara looked at him sternly, "In those two months, you've gotten a rather...interesting record here." Sota recoiled slightly, "If this is about that fight I got into, you know that wasn't my fault! That guy threw the first punch!"

"After you told him to shut up, you mean," Saehara replied. Sota was about to retort, but he got cut off, "This isn't just about that fight, son. You've been causing trouble ever since you've started working here. Now, I've cut you some slack because of your situation, and that you've been doing a good job with the more 'well-behaved' customers, but things like this just can't keep coming up. I had to promise a free meal to a customer today who recognized you, making sure he didn't call the police," Saehara put a hand on Sota's shoulder, "I think you know where I'm getting at, Sota."

Sota stared at Saehara's hand, "Yeah, I get it. You don't believe in me," Sota brushed his hand aside, "so you've got to fire me. I understand perfectly!"

Saehara retorted, "Son, you know I've got my employees to think about! I can't have someone starting or replying to fights in my restaurant!" Sota replied, turning around, "Forget it, sir!" He started walking out, throwing his spare apron in the trash as he went out the back.

"You do what you've got to do, and I'll do what I have to do!"

He stormed out, walking fast towards his apartment, trying hard to suppress the tears.

 

Kairi was close to her house when out of no where she passed out. Kira ran over to his sister who was laying on the cold concrete. Kira picked up Kairi and grabbed Atobe's leash and took them home.

Kira rang the door bell and Mr.Dismuke answered "What do you want?" "I just brought kairi and Atobe back...dad." said Kira. Mr.Dismuke took of Atobe's leash. Kira stared at his dad. Mr.Dismuke was afraid to admit the this teenager was his son that ran away ten years ago.

"Kira you've finally returned." said Mr.Dismuke.
"yeah...but not for you." said Kira angrily, "I came back to protect y younger sister from your harm."
"Kira I..." Mr.Dismuke was cut off by Kira. "you abusied her badly...I don't know how much longer she'll live." said Kira seriously, "where is kairi's room?"
"up the stairs to the left." said Mr.Dismuke.
"Okay." said Kira.

Kira took kairi up to her room and plased her on her bed. Kira put covers over kairi and went back to the store.

 

Darn it! This happens every time!

Sota tried hard to fight the tears that were starting to come down. Each time he lands a job, somebody decides they don't want him to have it. The world was just against him, plain and simple.

He cut a corner that led to the local drug store, and stopped. He saw some kid with dark brown hair and bluish-purple eyes...the same ones that Kairi had. Only, this was a boy.

Sota shook his head and kept walking. I gotta get out of this neighborhood. I'm starting to see things.

 

Kira entered the drug store and got medicine for kairi...
It only took a few minutes.
Kira saw Sota...That guy was with Kairi they knew eachother...but how...Oh well all that matters is get this medicine to Kairi...thought kira running off.

 

Sota walked another block until he got to his apartment. Small as it may be, it was still home...or what was left of it anyway. Sota went to a small list pinned on a wall, and with a pen marked off 'restaurant'. Frustrated, he threw his pen to the side of the room. He sat in ball, with his back against the wall, and went to sleep.

 

At Kairi's house kairi woke up and saw kira sitting at the edge of bed.
"What happened?" said Kairi.
"You passed out." said Kira
"how?" said Kairi
"i don't know but you have a tempurature of 111 degrees..." said Kira replaceing the wet wash cloth on kairi's head with a colder one.
"Oh...I still have to walk Tamaki!" said Kairi.
"thats already tooken care of Dad is walking her." said Kira, "you proable get some sleep and some more vitamins."
"Okay..." said kairi fallling back asleep.
Kira shut off the light and shut the door. Kira went downstairs and fell asleep on the couch.

 

Sota woke up from his sleep, and sighed. He looked around his dark room...yep, same as he last left it: Messy and dark.

He stood up, stretched, and looked outside. Since he fell asleep with his clothes on from yesterday, he didn't think anyone would shriek at the way he looked...maybe, maybe not. There were some weirdos in his neighborhood...

He looked up at the night sky. The moon was barely visible through all the clouds, especially with lightning starting to flash in the distance. He wondered how long it would take before it started to rain.

He felt the first few drops hit his face. Oh, that long.

He went back inside, and sat against his wall, listening to the rain starting to pour.
