    The detectives found out that there was a new case, thanks to a convenient birthday card from Kira. Since Midnight Star tends to get killed, usually instantly, she decided it would be prudent to go into hiding for some time, so she decided to hide at a friends' place. Funnily enough, very few of her friends were interested in "Sheltering me until an omnipotent madman stops trying to kill me". After going through her entire directory, she found a person by the name of Yog-Sothoth who was willing to let her stay with him.

    She was back in HQ the next morning, speaking gibberish. She had clawed out her eyes hours ago, and had inserted long knitting needles into her ears. The detectives accidentally stepped on her tongue as they entered the room as she was ramming her face into a wall, attempting to kill her sense of smell. They ran to help her, but before they got to her, she mysteriously combusted.
