edit: Bit late but, with the L rule, what if investigating the person who is L would reveal their identity as L or soemthing like that?

 

Then Kira would probably kill L. Unless Kira thought it was a bluff and it wasn't L.

 

Yeah, it isn't really that fair to L to do that.

 

Well the investigation could be something as a true cover to hide the L fact. Like how the Kira can get away if they don't have the Death Note, L can get away by pretty much doing nothing since there's no physical proof that that player is L. It's all down to how the shinigami's do the stuff though.

 

Well the L would still be alive and fully capable of doing everything, just have their cover blown.
The detectives obviously wouldn't purposely investigate the L, but the Kiras might, If L feels he/she is likely to be killed once their cover is blown they could then choose their successor before they die...

whatever, just a suggestion...

 

Graxe was in his favourite underground casino, spending the investigation team's stockpile of money on the roulettes, when suddenly his credit came up into the red, despite the stockpile still having a few billion left. His hosts were unamused by his antics, and told him his newfound debt would be cleared if he won the next roulette spin. He didn't, and he turned up in an alleyway the next morning, eviscerated.

Somewhere, a detective crouched at a computer smirked.

Cherry Berry confronted Fayt after work, just as the sun was setting, like a school child asking out her crush. Blushing, she held an object behind her back awkwardly. Fayt ashed disjointedly what she wanted, and flustered, she held out some pages of the Death Note to him. "Please be my Mikami! I beg of you!" she shouted at him.

Fayt looked at her incredulously, and said plainly to her, "No."

He then walked inside, and reported her to the police.

Cherry burst into tears, and handed the black bound book to the invisible spirit following her. "Carry out plan B. I don't care any more!"

The Shinigami nodded, and briefly touched her forehead. She collapsed to the group, unconscious. When she came to in a police cell, she didn't remember anything, and denied ever having the Death Note. Nothing was found on her, so she was declared...

INNOCENT

 

I believe I am allowed to accuse again with evidence. I accuse Midnight Star, because she viewed the thread just before P edited his post with my accusation.

Well usually you have to wait 24 hours, but because of who you are, and because this is getting interesting, I'll make an exception.

Midnight Star's flat was invaded by officers, but they found her unconscious, lying on the bed, no memory of the past few minutes. She obediently raised her hands and complied with demands. However no matter how hard the room was searched and no matter how hard she was interrogated, nothing was revealed and she was declared...

INNOCENT (But bugs were placed all around her house without her knowledge, on the off chance she had done something silly like mail the Death Note back to herself or something)

Umm, you do know that the detectives and L work side by side to bring down Kira? not for the detectives to reveal who Kira and L are..........
right?

 

Well yeah, but we clearly have an L-Kira so what differnce is there...
