Death Note: The Past Future

"Huh.." Dein sighed in acknowledgment. "Do you think you might have somethign to do with it?"

 

"Me? Don't be stupid, she knows it ain't going to happen anytime soon. She should just give up now before she humilliates herself."

 

Dein looked at Mello darkly. "it's no wonder L has no interest in you..."

 

"Shut up!" Mello snapped "I'll f*cking push you done the f*cking stairs if you say that one more f*cking time!" He yelled, pushing Dein. Not enough to knock him done but a good warning that he would do it given the chance. Because he would, he really, really would. No one, let alone some kid who L hadn't even noticed once was going to tell him that.

 

Dein tripped slightly, colliding with the floor with a light bump, and glared at Mello defiantly.

 

"Don't you f*cking dare say that again, I may not be number one but I sure as hell will be one day. I will beat Near! No matter what I will win! I'm not some pathetic loser! You have no idea just how close I am to bl**dy well kicking you down the rest of those damn stairs! How I handle girls is my choice, and it's got f*ck all to do with me being L one day. No matter what; I will be L!"

Blonde, demtermined, obbessed with a certain food, is determind to beat someone at their own game... Maybe it's just me...

"mello... will you just shut up.. he gets the point.." Matt said caoughing hoarsely from behind the two of them.

Saint was just walking around the house, finally putting his music player back in his room he could now actually hear noisses around him.

 

"Why don't you shut up! Bloody smoker..." Mello growled, turning on his best friend. His anger still fresh and his blood boiling in frustration with everyone. No one seemed to belive in him, everyone though he was a failure next to Near. Well, he'd soon show them. He'd show them all, one day. One day soon."And L's still p*ssed at you." He added, trying his best to change the situation before he got out of control.

 

"well.... from what i hear, sounds like everyone is pissed at me, at the moment." Matt said with a little cough and started walking by mello, patting him on the back lightly.

 

"You better talk to him soon, or both of us are in sh*t. I've been avoiding him for almost a day now."

 

"and tell him that i'll quit? L is smart.. he won't buy that.." Matt said coughing and walking.

 

"Then quit for real then! It's gotta be costing you a small fortune, you smell awful, your teeth are going yellow and you're just going to die of cancer in the long run." Mello called after him. "Because seriously, I like being roomates and all but can barely stand being in the same room as you and that stench anymore, It's getting disgusting!"

 

Dein shook his head, walking back to his and Saint's room closing the door softly behind him...

 

"Urgh..." Mello grumbled, having been left by everyone once again. I really need to sort this out... My temper is getting...
"Out of control?"
"How on earth did you know that?"
"I just did." She shrugged "I heard everything and you looked pensive. I just guessed, and obviously I was right."

 

Dein collapsed on his bed, light tears forming as he slammed his face into his pillow...

 

"Whatever... Just a lucky guess."
"Well... Maybe I just know you better then you thought I did."
"I don't think so, I'm not that easily read."
"That's certainly true, I've never met anyone else who can tell what your think--"
"And neither can you! F*cking hell! You don't know me half as well as you seem to think you do! I'm nothing like what you think so just f*cking well f*ck off!" Mello yelled, snapping once again before he'd even realised what he was saying or doing. His words and tone reducing the seemingly happy Juliet to a state so close to tears you could see the pain in her eyes as clearly as the tears that stung in her pastle eyes.

 

As if on que, L opened the door, casually kicking his shoes off and wakling inside.

 

"Y--you know... Maybe everyone else here is better then you. At least they doesn't treat me like sh*t! You know what? I'm sick of it! I just... I just... I can't..." Juliet sobbed her voice trailing off as she fought to find the right words to say. But after giving up her search she turned on her feet and ran off back to her room sobbing.
"Wait! Juliet!" Mello called after her, realiseing just what he had just done. He'd just screamed at one of the only people he knew that even cared that he was there, he'd just burned one of the few bridges he still had left. "F*ck..."

 

"Mello..." L started slowly. "Exactly what did you do to her?"

 

"I didn't... I didn't mean... I never ment to... I... I... I may of told her to f*ck off..." Mello eventually managed to get out, no excuses coming to his rescue. Because, he knew, he deserved everything he got for this one. What he'd just done was low, really low.
