Death Note: The Past Future

"Mello..." L muttered gesturing for him to follow him.

 

Oh sh*t... I'm in trouble... Mello thought dispondently as he quietly walked after his idol. This was most likely going to be the worset lecture he'd ever had, or ever would have. Not only was it from him, it was about her.

 

"Now then." L started turning to Mello. "What provoked you to do that?"

 

"I don't know... I think I just.. sorta.... kinda... vented at her. Again..." Mello replied quietly, looking down at his feet, unable to look into L's face in fear of the expression he would see. The expression that was almost certianly about to discount him from the race to be L. Leaving Near for a sure fire victory.

 

"Mello..." L sighed, a hint of disapointment in his sigh. "we've already gone through this several times, so just go apologize to her... if you want i'll come... IF you find me some cake with actual sugar..."

 

"Sorry L... I'm trying, I really, really am. I don't like shouting anymore then everyone likes me shouting at them..." Mello mumbled "And if you do, I'll go, though I doubt she'll want to see me again."

 

L didn't reply but simply turned towards the stairs.

 

"You're really mad at me... Aren't you?" Mello sighed as he followed after him, L's silence was worse then Rodger's shouting. He made so much clear to him, anger, disapointment. Maybe he was just a failure, a loser. Maybe everyone was right, maybe everyone had expected more from him then he was able to deliver. What hope was there that he, with his over sensitive emotions, could ever beat the clear thinking of Near? Or even come close to being like L?

 

"Not really..." L disagreed. "Just a little disapointed."

 

"I don't blame you... I'm disapointed with me too..."

 

"Thne apologize..." L suggested turning towards Juliet's room.

 

"She's gonna be so p*ssed off at me though... I mean, really p*ssed off. I've never seen her loose her cool like that, ever."

 

"She's just going throug ha confusing moment..."

 

"What do you mean?" Mello asked. Unsure of what L was implying.

 

L shruged. "I can't say i know for sure, but she really likes you..."

 

"I know..." Mello mumbled, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.

 

"So are you going to apologize or do i have to for you?"

 

"I'll do it..." Mello sighed, walking up to the door and gently knocking on it. "Juliet? You in there? It's Mello..."
"Leave me alone!" Came a loud and tearful reply. "I don't want to talk to you, f*ck off!"
"Juliet, come on. I'm sorry."
"Yeah, whatever. Sure you are."
"I mean it, come on. Just get out here so I can talk to you?"
"No! F*ck off!"
"She's not going to listen to me..."

 

L silently walked past Mello and knocked patiently. "Juliet, it's L would you mind if i came in to talk to you?"

 

"Fine..." She sniffed "As long as he stays out there!"
