Death Note: The Past Future

L looked at Mello.

 

"Go on... If nothing else you might be able to cheer her up... I'm going back to my room. Least Matt's not in there right now..." He mumbled, turning his back on L, the door and the entire situation. There wasn't anything more he could do. Or at least, he didn't think there was.

 

L looked back to the door again. "Now if you don't mind unlocking it...?"

 

"It's not locked... Door just sticks a bit..." Juliet's came through the door again.

 

"oh..." L muttered pushing it open.

 

"Me and Terri have been meaning to tell Rodger, but it's good for hiding from people..." She mumbled, her face all most completly hidden in the head of a large, soft brown teddy bear she was clutching close to her.

 

L attempted to smile sitting down next to her in his normal way. "So, tell me what happened between you and Mello?"

 

"Basicly... He told me to f*ck off..."

 

"That's all?" L asked a small sign of surprise crossing his face. "I thought he's done worse than that before..."

 

"He told me I'm stupid... That I know nothing about him even though we've known each other since we were four years old..."

 

"Aahhh, i see..." L muttered passively. "Still, two wrongs don't make a right..."

 

"He obvioulsy doesn't want me around him... So I'll leave him alone..."

 

"Juliet..." L started. "He does want you around. Listen to how guilty he feels now"

 

"Mello is a bl**dy good actor when he wants to be... I've heard him appologising to Near before now while Rodger was watching. Anyone would of belived it, but of course it wasn't true."

 

L shrugged. "I know someone who's at least twice as god a actor as he is and i'm still determined to prove that wrong.." L muttered mutualy. "don't give up on him then, i'm guessing he realyl is regretting it..."

 

"Someone else whose a good actor?" Juliet said cocking her head so the side of her face was lying ontop of the bear's fluffy head. Egar to change the subject away from her and Mello.

 

"hmm..." L sighed thoughtfully biting his thumb. "Just someone i suspect is Kira..."

 

"Kira's the one killing all those criminals isn't he?" She asked "You should really talk to Mello about him, I'm sure he'd be interested what with who his parents were and everything."

 

"Yeah..." L sighed in agreement. "But he shows too much emotion for his own good... He might get himself killed if i did..."

 

"They'd have to find him first... And you make sure no one knows our names or where we live. And I doubt he's dumb enough to go and find Kira."
