Death Note: The Past Future

"Hiya L." Juliet smiled, skipping down the rest of the steps. Stopping suddenly when she saw the look of utter disapointment on Mello's face. The switch from exitced and happy to total heartbreak was almost instant.

"Y-You ignored me... again..." Mello mumbled quietly, dropping his head sadly and ruffling the back of his long blonde hair to try and make it seem as though he was just stratching his neck. Not hiding his crestfallen face from the others.

 

"I am not ignoring you Mello. You're qustion was of irrelevance and therefore of no need of answering." L explained walking by them. "And how's Near?"

 

"Well some acknowledgement would of been nice..." He sighed, throwing the bar of chocolate into the bin. He didn't really feel like eating it anymore. "And a 'How are you Mello?' would of been appriciated..." He added under his breath. "It's always Near..."
"Not always..." Juliet smiled, silently coming up behind him and standing beside him. "Just seems like it."
"No... It is..." he sighed.

 

"It's not Mello..." L agreed walking up the stairs. "You already have someone who's willing to be more than just your friend, and it would appear as if Near's been distanced out..."

 

Saint continued to just sit there and listen to his music with his eyes closed.

 

Juliet shifted uncomfortabley as she felt Mello's gaze on her, her pale face flushing pinkish in her awkwardness. She knew he knew so that wasn't the issue, it was the fact that L knew that was so cringe worthy.

 

"And i'm guessing from the shifting of weights and you silence that you already know who this person is..." L continued.

 

"Kind of... err... yeah..." Mello mumbled, his hair hiding his face from the pinkening Juliet.

 

"Then there's no problem..."

 

Near was too wound up and his toys to care about what was going on downstars. "Angel huh? Nice."

"You're Near, right?" She asked, she was pretty certain that was it. Even though she hadn't really met him before. Although of course she had her doubts when it came to her own memory. It wasn't always the most reliable aspect of her.

"I guess..." Mello mumbled before taking a deep breath and looking up again. Finally managing to rid his face of his own, or though much weaker, awkward blush. It didn't exactly look cool, did turning magenta. Though, he thought as he glaced at Juliet, obviously some people were better at controlling their body and it's reflex reactions better the others.

It's not as if he's ever going to act on it though... He doesn't really care that I feel like this. Or at the very least doesn't seem too. But I wish I at least knew why... And now L-Nii-San's found out. Or figured out anyway. Oh my god, every will know before long. Mello... Near... L... This isn't good, not at all.

 

"Yes that is correct."

 

"So, you're like the most intelligent person here?" She asked.

 

"I wouldn't say that..."

 

"That's what I was told, you're the person whose most likely to be L. So you have to be the smartest."

 

"Who told you that?"

 

"I heard a load of adults talking, mainly about Mello and why he says he hates you so."

 

"Is that so? I would of liked it if he wasn't so...." He couldn't think of a word that would describe him at the moment without being mean

 

"Petty?" Angel suggested, "That's how he seems."

 

"Yeah.... It's not like I did anything to him."
