"I thought I reconisged his name..." Near highlighted it and continued flicking through.

 

Matsuda looked up with a slightly astonished look on his face. "Does this mean that Light is a suspect?"

 

"Son of a police officer, smart and seeming to be unsuspecting. He has a very small chance of being Kira." Near flicked through more.

 

"I'd say about 1% chance"

Matsuda looked unsure.

 

"Expect the unexpected Matsuda." Rhyme said, licking her finger then dipping it back in the hunny. "Thats how me and Near work. Right now, we even think that you could be Kira."

 

"Nah, Matsu is too stupid to be Kira" Toshiko smiled.

Matsuda went red and hung his head. "That's not very nice Toshiko"

 

"It could be a play on..." Rhyme muttered before jumping from her seat, over to Matsuda. "This dimwitted, naive persona could just be hiding a brilliant mind that kills people for the apparent good of this world." She grabbed his tie, pulling it down. "On the contrary, Matsuda could be ONE of many Kiras that the original Kira has made."

 

L looked round. "What makes you say that there are other Kira's?"

 

"There could be. What happens if Kira gets ill or can't kill people? Another Kira could take his place until better."

 

"How?" L leaned in to her face.

 

"Kira can't work fully alone. He could be working as a main Kira with other subordinates." Rhyme said, not flinching.

 

"Did I not say only a few minutes ago that Kira was currently working alone to commit these murders"

 

"True, but you also made a point that you could be Kira. And Light Yagami is a suspect. Who knows, maybe you both are Kira." Rhyme snapped back.

 

"Near decided that Light is a suspect, and what I meant by saying I could be Kira was that you have as much right to suspect me just as I do you. And you can't just suspect someone just because they happen to be the son of a cop with high test scores, you need proof. Also, to be able to kill the number of people he has you would nedd at least 80 accomplices in each country"L leaned back and picked up a teacup.

 

"I'm not saying it fully that you or him are Kira." Rhyme crossed her arms.

 

"And I am saying that Kira is Currently working alone, Only if the pattern of criminals killed changes will I accept the theory of another Kira" He put the cup down and ended the argument.

 

Rhyme frowned and sat back down again.
Near looked up at Rhyme. "Don't take it this way."

 

"Yeah, Ryuzaki's a stubborn old coot" Toshiko folded her arms.

"Toshiko-Kun, I will kick you"Ryuzaki glared at her.
