Near sat in the middle of an empty room. Placing a domino down gently while twirling a strand of his hair around his index finger, he started to think. "All the killings are on criminals and 'bad people'. Just lately some are being killed that aren't that." Flicking the last domino, a massive chain reaction exploded around the room. Domino buildings collasped, lego men fell to the floor and suddenly, it stopped.
A girl sat behind Near, holding up one of the domino pieces to prevent the chain going further. "But why must Kira kill? There ARE no bad people in the world. Just bad mannered ones."
"True, Rhyme."
Rhyme smiled slightly and set the last piece down. As it fell, a large 'L' shape appeared on the floor.

"L, another criminal has just been just been reported to have died from cardiac arrest, I'm sending you the details"
"Thankyou Watari"
L watched as the details of yet another criminal was projected onto his computer screen.

 

"Light do you REALLY have to kill more people? Can't you just leave them be?"
"Misa you know i can't, i HAVE to make the perfect world for me and you."

Misa sighs and sits next to Light at the tv screen, while he looks for another criminal to kill..

Near looked over his shoulder at Rhyme. "We need a name for whats happening."
Rhyme thought slightly. "Kira? An adaption of the english word Killer?"
"Good enough." Near turned and stared out the window. "The world is full of bad things."
"Maybe not."
Near looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
Rhyme smiled slightly. "Maybe the bad things that happen are truely for good?"

 

L sat oddly in his chair and stared at the list of criminals recently killed by this strange new entity. He sipped his coffee and added 3 more sugar cubes.

 

Misa rests her head on Light "I love you, you do realise that?"
" Of course i realise that Misa, now can you please write down some names?"

 

Near watched her. "Is that how you truely view the world?"
"Like?"
"While I say the world is full of bad, you contradict me with saying bad might be good."
Rhyme looked up and stared out the window. "Maybe... I don't see these killings as good though. The only good ones are the ones who will die the next day or so."
Near shook his head. "Its still murder Rhyme."
"I know Near."

 

Light stands up and looks at Misa "I'm going for some fresh air, keep writing down names."

Misa looks up at Light "Ok, anything for you" Smiles brightly at him.
Light smiles back, turns around and walks out the door.

 

"Matsuda-San ? If I rearrange the the dates and times of death into groups of seven, each group representing one week, and place them on top of each other , what do you see?"

The young police officer named Matsuda stood up and thought for while. " they make up a students time table"

" very good, this showd that his killings are made between waking up, gong to school and after it, from this we can determine that our murderer is a very dedicated student"

 

Near stood and walked across the room.
Rhyme stood up too and held onto one of his shirt arms that was too long for him.
"I'm checking to see if L has updated."
"I wouldn't be suprised if he has this all in the bag already." Rhyme smiled.
Near sat next to a PC on the floor and clicked around on e-mails.
Rhyme sat next to him, huddling close. "Anything yet?"
"No..." Near sighed slightly. "Mayb we can ask L if we can go to Japan to help him."

 

"matsuda-San , please contact Near to see if he can help elaborate on this theory"

MAtsuda nodded an pressed a few buttons.

 

Light is wandering round the park when he bumps into a college friend "Oh hi Haruto, how are you?"Haruto recognises Light and smiles "Hi Light, i'm much better now your here, I'm feeling a bit lonely at the moment, i need someone to talk to.""Ok, do you want to go grab a coffee?"

 

A sudden email appeared on screen. Both of them reading it, a small smile creeped across both of them. "Wish came true?"
"Conicidence." Near started to type, replying back.

Matsuda nodded again and set about finding te plane Near would be arriving on.

"We also have a new recruit with us right now if you'd like to show her around"

At touch down, Rhyme stared out the window. "L said escort, right?"
"He or She should be here." Neat stood up.

 

Has a long chat with Haruto and returns back to the apartment.
"what the hell took you so long!""Hey calm down i just into a friend that's all."
Misa pouts "I was worried"
"well there was no need was there?" Light walks across to Misa and puts his hand on her cheek and whispers "I love you"
