"He used to give talks at our orphanage. He singled me, Rhyme and Mello out as 'specially gifted'." Near replied.
"I wonder where he is now..." Rhyme said, sighing slightly. Looking up again, she smiled. "This will be the second time we've seen L. Can we see him when we arrive?" She asked.
"Most unlikely." Near said, looking over at her. "L has to keep his solitude. Only Watari has seen him."

 

Light turns round to thank Ryuk for getting rid of the apple when he see Ryuk being hugged by another Shinigami "What the hell!? Who or what are you?"

 

"actually you will be working with L directly, only the task force, you and Watari know his appearance" he smiled. " and I wouldn't be dead actually, I gave you my allias, to be used when outside HQ, we all also have fake police ID's"

 

"Oh sorry i must have bumped you im Ryuk's brother i just came down to see him i missed him" he looked at light "light yagami im Kyusa" he extended a hand.

"yeah light this is my little brother Kyusa, we haven't talked in a while, he is a little excitable." he finally got Kyusa off of him

 

"Really? Y-"
"Good." Near cut Rhyme off. "As we are still portrayed as children, Kira won't suspect a thing. After all, adults never suspect children."
"Proved it too. Ever heard of the massive crack cocaine dealer 'Jack Myyers'?" Rhyme asked. "The english police had been trying to get at him for 20 years. Me and Near befriended his children, got into the house and bugged it. Everything he did was recorded."
"Then when on holiday with them in America, I managed to bring him down because he had his own guard down."
"Plus a group of the mafia around wanted to kill him and get the crack cocaine."
Near started fiddling with his hair. "He never suspected a thing."

 

In a hushed tone Light speaks to Kyusa"Ermm Kyusa i don't mean to be rude but i can't shake your hand the moment or someone in class may see me and start to suspect something."
Light hears the bell for end of classes.
"Kyusa your welcome to come to my appartment with me and Ryuk if you like. I'm sure we will have some fruit you would like."

Misa thinks to herself, at the shoot, Light will just be finishing college.Maybe i should finish early to see him.

 

Matsuda picked up his phone. L's voice came through.
"all records of them have been erased, will you please bring them to HQ"

 

Rhyme and near instantly smiled at hearing L's voice. "How long has it been since we saw him last time?"
"Around a year." Near looked at Rhyme.
Rhyme looked back at Near. "Too long ago."

 

"oh right im kinda used to being in the shinigami realm since i havent been here in a year" he looked around "sure ill come with you two."

Ryuk was silentt but he thought to himself "my brother is too friendly for his own good."

 

Back at the appartment. Light hands Ryuk an apple and Kyusa some grapes.
"Ok, i need to do some studying so can you two please be quiet?"

 

both of them said in unison "okay light"

Kyusa started eating his grapes
Ryuk started eating the apple

 

It's all nice and peaceful until there's a knock at the door, Light gets up and answers it.
"Hi Light, not seen you in a while, can i come in?"

Light steps aside to let his sister Sayu in, and leads her to the couch.

"How have you been?"

 

Kyusa bumped Ryuk "light's sister i presume?"
Ryuk simply said "yep"

 

After talking to his sister for an hour, she decides to leave. Once shes gone Light turns to Ryuk, "Ok what are we going to do about L? Do you think he figured out i'm a student yet by only using the notebook by my timetable?"

Light hears keys in the door. "Misa's home"

 

"i'm not sure light maybe he has"
"Misa? that model girl misa is your girlfriend light?"

 

"Yeah she is."
Misa walks in and kisses Light on the cheek."I'd thought i would finish the shoot early to see you, as we don't see each alot."

Light smiles and grabs Misa and tickles her.
Misa giggles "Light stop! you know i'm ticklish"

 

Kyusa kept eating grapes
Ryuk had finished his apple and stole a grape from Kyusa
"hey you theif" Kyusa laughed

 

"Matsoi, please hand the phone to Near"

Matsuda did as he was told and handed the phone over.

 

Near held the phone up to his ear, holding it only by the top part. "Near here."
Rhyme leaned over to be able to hear.

 

since nobody is playing them and they will be coming in very soon can i be the entire task force?
