So, I was out in the city centre the other day, and I saw two six year old girls, shopping alone. They were both dressed in short skirts and high heels, and they both wore more makeup than I do. D: One of them was talking on the phone to someone she was calling "babe".

I thought THAT was bad, then just today I saw someone who looked like a perfectly respectable mother; but her baby had a pierced nose. I thought it was absolutely horrifying D: I know sometimes baby's ears are pierced for cultural reasons, but his/her nose?

If growing up fast has come to extents of this, I think it's disgusting.

    Who's to blame?

The parents. They let their kids go out like that.

It's the parent's fault for letting their kids dress up like that, and to a lesser extent, it's the media's fault for promoting that kind of shallow, materialistic image to kids (through most modern cartoons). Although, the parents also have a responsibility to teach their kids what REALLY matters, and to dispel the media myths.

I swear, some people in this world need to turn in some body parts for failing to be responsible.

I believe the nose piercing is cultural as well... but as for the six year olds (assuming they really are six, which I find hard to believe...) yeah, then that's just poor parenting.

I'd blaim the parents. If I where a father, and my six-year old daughters go out like that... Well, I wouldn't know what I'd do but it won't be pretty.

    Definitely parents.
I had a camper in my group last summer that had a cell phone - an eight year old - and I had to take it from her because she'd text during camp. She'd throw a hissy fit, and I'm assuming that's was because her parents would let her get away with it.
In the end her parents didn't tip me, and at the camp where I work pretty much all parents give tips. And at the end of camp party she was texting again, but at that point I really didn't want to get roared at by a kid again. >_>

This is also similar to how people are like "OMG VIDEO GAMES ARE TOO VIOLENT AND ARE MAKING A GENERATION OF SERIAL KILLERS".
GUESS WHAT. Don't let your nine year old play Gears of War. Problem solved. :/

There is a little girl who comes into our shop with her parents, she has only just recently started school so she is about 5/6.

Anyways, she has dyed purple hair, has false nails, she wears more makeup than I do. She wears tiny skirts, little tops, and one day she was wearing a little jacket that on the back said porn star :D now isn't that a great example of parenting.

I think parents need to think about the fact their kids are kids and not fashion dolls :/

Though the fashion industry is in someways to blame since there are some stores who sell kids clothes that are really innapropriate such as lacy black padded bras for 5 years olds.

Ugh its these parents just neglecting their kids needs. I mean i dont think they know that these kids will grow up to be whores. but they still shouldn't think they are gonna have a great job. :\ STUPID!

I assumed they were around that age, they were VERY small and looked around six.

oh GOD, I've seen stuff like that, skimpy underwear aimed at girls under ten.

Oh, God, that's horrible. I think the worst I've seen where I live is probably these around about 7-year-olds in the shopping mall going into a well... Lady's underwear shop. Also, at the beach, there is this place that goes into a small cove (it reminds me of f*cking destiny islands) and there's a huge cliff and me and my friends (we're all 12-16, I think the oldest of us is 15, but usually it's just the 12 and 13 year-olds that go here, and I'm the only girl of them all) we climb on the rocks to get into the cover, because that is the only way we can get through, seeing as the entrance has recently collapsed inward and a rock is now blocking the way, we have to be very careful not to fall in the sea, and sometimes the sea comes up to the cliff walls while we're climbing and it's very dangerous, but we're all quite safe, because we've found the safe routes. Well, anyway, my point is that one day we were going to go to the cove and just hang around in there, and as we were walking down the path to go, these two about 5 year olds were climbing the rocks and the parents weren't even watching, we were shocked to death seeing as it's the most dangerous place you could ever be! I think it's because they saw us doing and thought it was okay to do it, but it's just not right, because we've studied the areas and the closest injury we've had is me falling into one of the rock pools. but I was just so shocked to see the parents didn't even care!

Wow....that's....ouch. I didn't get my cellphone 'til just THIS year! DX
I honestly think that is the result of uncaring parents. You need to raise kids, right, PEOPLE! DX
Noone wants all the little baby-girls in this world to turn into prostatutes, right?! DX So saaaaaad!

Wow. I remember being in frickin' overalls when I was 6.

What really got me was the make-up. I mean how the hell is a parent bringing up their daughter so that they wear make-up at 6? D8<

Are you kidding me? I don't even HAVE a cellphone anymore.

I got a cell phone when I was 8, but didn't use it properly until I was 10 and now I love my phone and must take it everywhere... Mostly because of safety issues, but still! XD

I got my phone when I was thirteen, and that was only because I was going to a sleep away camp for the first time. :/
Some parents seriosly need to get control of their kids; from what I've seen the next generation looks pretty pathetic.

HOPEFULLY, something will happen to these kids that matures them (No, not that, you perverts!). Maybe high school and college (if these kids go) will make both the kids and parents realize that their kids need to be more serious about life. I doubt it, though. I can see this coming generation running the world into the ground, realizing what they did, and bringing up the next generation (if there is one) better.

Right now the world is kind of running itself into the ground. Our generation will be living through it but the next will probably be stuck cleaning it up.
And that's why I'm worried; if their primary concerns are fasion, the lastest trend, etc., nothing will get done. Granted, there will be many that can do something, but the question is if they actually will. It's the responsibility that's lacking, and hell, even I have trouble with keeping up with everything.
But the way things look now aren't very good.

I blame us, the previous generation.

At work i see lil girls dressed like that all the time...
I've actually had girls 13 and under hit on me (i'm 17)
Once, this lady "introduced" me to her daughter who i swear probably had to order off the kids menu.

My ex's lil sister is 9 or 10
    and has mono...

This ten year old came in dipping (chewing tobacco) and was so proud of it, he came wit his parents and they didnt even care.
I blame us, we set the example, parents tried to stop our generation and couldn't. Now kids grow up to fast
