    I'm not entirely certain who created it, but you don't need to use it because CrazyCatz's extractor is better. :D

    EDIT: If Crazycatz could make a program that extracts everything from the mdls as well as repack them, we could test out what replacing models does.

    i meant more along the lines of rigging a external model to an existing one, so replacing KH1 Sora with KH2 Sora for instance which would help with the HD aspect.

    One of the things I tried to do a while back was try to make Donald and Goofy use their "casual" clothing, as seen in an early KH1 trailer:


    It was, however, only partly successful; in that the models were replaced, but because the bones were set up differently, they didn't exactly look like themselves. They were horrifically mangled; functional, but mangled.

    I didn't test that, however. I had a model viewer at the time that supported animations, however I suspect you're right. For custom/modded models we'd have to somehow take the skeleton out of the one we want to replace, have it on the new model, and (in my case) inject the hud textures and voices somehow.

    At the rate the modding community (ie the few people who can do this in the last few weeks) is working, this may be possible one day, but it's beyond my knowledge as to HOW to do it.

    This was the first thing I did as well. :D

    I really want this to be possible as well. A KH1 'beta' hack would be really neat. I'm still trying to discover where textures are stored in .wep files. No luck as of yet. I REALLY want to make new weapons. ;)

    You need to download the texture extractor/editor from the 1.5 porting thread. :rolleyes:

    The .exe you're looking for to replace the current textures is the one thats says mdlsTextureEdit

    From now on, if you guys don't mind, if you need help, could you PM me? I'd rather this thread be reserved for discussing texture/model hacking/swapping. Or either there should be a general support thread.

    I've been playing around with the .vsb files. I've successfully discovered how to make character voice mods. :D

    This is just a simple hex edit proof of concept I threw together. I only replaced one voice file.
    I'll post a tutorial later.

    Yep its totally possible. I replaced all of sephiroths quotes with all his unused ones just by hex editing.

    Guess I'm a little late to the show. I haven't exactly kept up with everything. xD Was this discussed prior to now? Sorry if this is late news. I'm working on something a bit bigger, if I can figure it out. ;)

    Doesn't this kinda disprove the voices in the models thing? So just HUD I guess?

    I need to download 3DS max
