    Delivery of Cakes- Lakoda, Yukyo, and Shawn

    Madam Madeleine was pleased with the way Yukyo held himself. He was so polite and charming, and he seemed to pay attention to the smallest details. “You’re too kind,” the elderly lady said with a chortle. “Actually, yes. When you present the cakes to her, tell her to remember to look for the power within. It’s the saying of what’s brought her through this far, and she will be comforted by them. Now, off you go before it gets too late in the day. And have a safe journey…”

    Later-

    The group was on the road, the cakes and pastries carefully packed in the cart. Lakoda has the reigns of the horse, taking the group at a steady pace through the roads.

    Lakoda’s eyes darted to the trees, way beyond the road and clustered into a forest of sorts. She felt her heart skip a beat and absently touched the charm around her neck. She knew this wasn’t the right region to be fearful, but the scenario was similar. Clearing her throat, which just sounded like air being pushed within, she looked back to the others in the cart. “Madame Madeline was very nice to us… she’s a very sweet old lady.” Lakoda looked back ahead to the road, seeing the sign indicating Garriot Forest was just ahead of them. She sucked in air between her teeth and snapped the reins to urge the two horses forward.

    Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel

    .Meanwhile with Everette….

    “Only a few handful,” Chief Yolvun explained as he walked to the well in the center of town. “We have about maybe 30 young adults to older folks around who hadn’t been terribly infected. We only have a population of about two hundred out here….” He threw the shared water bucket in the well and begin to pull up on it once it filled. “About 10 our youngest died, under five years old… a handful of our elders have past or are in critical condition, and we had about two expecting mothers die as well…” He sighed out and brought the bucket of water up, sitting it on the lip of the well. “The rest of us are disheartened, caring for those who are sick, or who are in critical condition.” He pointed to the town hall a little ways from them. “There’s about twenty to thirty people in there at death’s door… Though the ones that care for the sick haven’t been infected right away… I’m sure your friend will be fine in there.” He gestured to the bucket of water, letting Everette take a look. “This is the town’s main water supply. It comes underground from a river about fifteen miles out of town. Fresh water spring that relies on the snow run off on the mountains and filtered with minerals from underground. We’ve always used this water since the foundation of our small village about one hundred years ago. It’s mostly used for cooking, washing, cleaning, and watering our gardens. We only drink out of this when our rain water is low, which happens rarely.” If inspected, the water would be cold, clear, and taste crisp. Although it would have a slight hint of an odd aftertaste to it…

    Meanwhile with Conrad….

    Renza was happily leading Conrad along, giggling and picking wildflowers left and right along the path. She was gathering yellow flowers in her arms when Conrad asked her the question and she paused to point ahead. “Farmer Ol’s Farm. He has the biggest farm and his has been around the longest. He’ll have the most information for you.” She stood up with the flowers in her arms and smiled sheepishly at Conrad. “This way.” She trotted ahead of Conrad not to dally anymore, leading him to a single story medium sized farm house made out of brick and wood.

    A man in his forties was out front, digging in a vegetable garden with a garden hoe. He stood up when he sensed visitors approaching and lifted his head. “Renza! What a pleasant surprise.” The farmer wiped his brow and took of his straw hat for a moment. “Who did you bring with you today?”

    Renza giggled more and smiled up at the man. “This is…” she trailed off as her eyebrows knitted together in concentration. She wasn’t there for introduction of first names, and realized she didn’t know his name. “What’s your name, mister?” She whispered shyly.

    Kyo didn't seem to mind the group chatting on about plans to catch the infamous mage that was causing trouble. He led the group to the inn where they dropped off their things in their rooms (everyone could choose to stay all in one room, or arrange it differently), and then he led them back towards the Town Hall via request.

    He seemed to keep to himself, hardly speaking unless spoken to. He approached the large iron gates to the Town Hall, guarded by at least four guards. Two in the front, and two behind the gates. "We're here under Divine Rose's request to see the children, via permission from the mayor," he said as he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it over to one of the guards. They looked it over, and then handed it back. With a wave of the hand, the gates were opened and the group could go inside. "Follow me," Kyo said quietly with a bow and walked to the front door, again with guards about on either side of the door frame. The yard was quiet, balls and some toys were scattered about while a swing swayed silently in the background. "They're preparing for supper around this time," Kyo said, "but feel free to interview them as you will." He opened the doors to the Town Hall, revealing a bustling of excitement and kids from ages three to twelve darting around.

    “Hurry along, children,” an older woman called after a group of giggling girls. “Chop, chop!” She has a shawl around her shoulders and glasses she held to her eyes by a handle connected to it. She had a long, pointy nose and looked kinda snobbish. She looked at the mages and huffed. “Visitors at this hour?”

    Kyo bowed to the woman. “Apologies Miss Prine. These are the mages that answered the mayor’s job for the capture of Necos… they wanted to interview the children under the permission of the Mayor, of course.”

    Miss Prine sniffed and brought her glasses to her nose. “Oh very well! But please don’t stay too long, we have a schedule to keep.”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Meanwhile AWAY from the group, back in the mansion...
    Maliel walked back into the Mayor’s office area with a tray in hand. There was a hot pot of tea in fine china with sugar cubes, milk, and things needed to make tea. She set it down silently, making as little noise as possible while the Mayor sat in his chair, staring at the fire.
    “How old is she...?” Came the sudden voice of the mayor as he stroked his hand, fiddling with the golden ring with the emerald on it.
    “Sir?” Maliel inquired without looking up from her task.
    “The Mage girl… how old is she?”
    “Fourteen,” Maliel said without hesitation as she plopped in one cube of sugar and began to stir slowly with a teaspoon.
    There was the sound of the chair creaking behind Maliel, and she turned around to come face to face with the Mayor. She gasped, and he leaned in close to her. “Tell me again,” he said with a raise of his eyebrow. He brought his hand up with the ring and it began to glow a lime green color. Maliel’s eyes seemed to go blank, and she dropped the teacup in her hands. “How old... is the girl…?”
    Conrad followed Renza down the road and smiled as she giggled and picked the flowers, the little trip away from the village seemed to already lift the little girl's spirit, Conrad was glad to see the change. His question had clearly given her the impression to not dally anymore as she didn't stop to pick any more flowers and Conrad simply followed along, he hadn't minded her slightly distracted behaviour, and on the return trip he wouldn't say anything about it or perhaps tell her it was alright if she just picked a few wild flowers along the way. While Renza trotted ahead of him it didn't take too much effort on Conrad's part to keep up with her with his longer legs.
    They soon arrived at the farmhouse that Renza had pointed out earlier, it was a decently sized building, rather sturdily build. The farmer that was hard at work in a vegetable garden, sensed their approach the man had been glad to see Renza and he couldn't blame the man, during such times seeing an almost carefree child was always a relief. When the girl was asked who she had brought with her and was unable to answer the question as she had never caught his name he whispered back to her. "
    It's Conrad. Go ahead, tell him who I am and what we're here for." Eventhough he was perfectly capable of answering the question of the farmer himself, he figured that it couldn't hurt letting her introduce him. After Renza gave him a brief introduction he offered his hand to the farmer.
    He noticed the way Lakoda was looking it the forest. "Your worried someone is watching or following us" he said in a hushed voice. "Sometimes things just happen we can't control, or someone will just not understand" he said with a sigh, looking towards were he kept his sword. He guessed there must be something that happened in her past, perhaps how her whole voice thing happened. "Maybe you know what its like" he finished in a hushed voice. He then came up with a good idea this only would work so far. If they were indeed being followed or watched the people most likely wouldn't know sign language. He began and sighed just a few random words and letters. "They can't read this" he said in a wiper. He then picked up a rock that somehow got into the wagon and threw it into the forest, if someone was watching perhaps it would hit them. He also wondered if he could track someone using his magic, if they were being followed if he could pick up on the vibrations they would make by moving ever so slightly. He would try but at the vary lest he would probably just get distracted by the movement of the wagon.
    Everette nodded pulling out a bottle from his backpack filling it with water to be tested later. "It is quite unfortunate the state of your town. We will do everything we can." But mirror magic was useless here. He wasn't able to do all that much to help the town and it felt horrible. "Is there a way to get to the river that this water comes from, it will be good to have samples from numerous points, check the change in condition of water from one to the next." Everette asked, wondering if something in the soil could be getting into the underground water supply. He didn't want to test all the soil though unless he knew since it would be a large area to cover. Pulling out a pen he marked the bottle that he had first. "Of course that can wait until later, at least after we took at where you store the rain water as well." Everette added since that was likely in town. May as well check out everything close by before he started to jump around and look into everything. And with the river being fifteen miles out, he might not get there and back in an hour, meaning he would need to meet with Conrad and Samuel before he left for it.
    Placing a finger to her chin, Thea thought over the plan for a trail. "Well I can always get a bag of... um... rice! Yeah rice. I will get rice and then I will cut a small hole in the bag and then even if that stupid magic works to some extent, but I don't think it will, then you can follow the trail of rice." Thea suggested gleefully as she turned to Gavin who was still worrying. "I don't mind, do whatever you think we need to. We just need it to work after all." Thea told him not really in a position to deny his suggestion anyways.
    The teen boy lead them to an inn where Thea insisted on taking her own room. After all she didn't want to sleep with stinky boys. Whether or not they would let her keep her own room when they went to bed was another story, but she at least had to try for now. After setting up their rooms however they then ran off to the town hall to meet with the kids, getting ready to eat dinner. The woman watching them reminded her of one of her old nannies and Thea wasn't too fond of it. Far too stuck up and strict. Thea tried to ignore it however as she turned to the older boys.
    "So what are we going to ask the kids?"
    Kyo soon lead them to an inn where they dropped off their things in their rooms. He was not sure about Thea staying by herself but for the time being he said nothing. Thea then said, 'Well I can always get a bag of... um... rice! Yeah rice. I will get rice and then I will cut a small hole in the bag and then even if that stupid magic works to some extent, but I don't think it will, then you can follow the trail of rice.' "Maybe, I have some other thoughts as well." He did not say them as anyone could be giving the information back to the Mage. When Thea said she did not mind his suggestion he just smiled at her.
    Soon Kyo lead then to town hall. They approached the large iron gates to the Town Hall, guarded by at least four guards. Two in the front, and two behind the gates. Then Kyo said,
    'We're here under Divine Rose's request to see the children, via permission from the mayor.' Then they were let into the front door of the town hall courtyard. Kyo then said, 'They're preparing for supper around this time, but feel free to interview them as you will.' He did not think they would get to go, but they were here now so it was best to make the most of it. A old women showed up and was not to happy to see them. "We are here to stop what is going on", he said simply. Thea then asked, 'So what are we going to ask the kids.' "We find out there version of the story, even if we get little we can cross reference it to what we have been told so far." Some of the things just did not add up. "I say we get the information and leave. Necos likely knows that we are here by now, who we are, and where we are, or where we are going to be. It is likely he is working with someone in town. No mage like that works alone." He was sure of this. He then looked into the Town Hall where the children would have dinner soon.
    Yukyo smiled as he bowed toward Madam Madeleine before speaking. "We will make sure these wonderful cakes and your beautiful message get delivered safe and sound." With that, Yukyo made his way to the carriage. He waved at Madam Madeleine as the carriage went off. As the trio carried on, silence carried throughout the carriage. Clearing her throat, Lakoda spoke up. Yukyo turned his head to look over at her. "Madam Madeleine was very nice to us...she's a very sweet old lady." Yukyo placed his hands behind his heads before speaking. "She's as sweet as the pastries she makes. To go as far as making some food to snack on while we're on the road. Very lovely of her." He smiled as he spoke. Shawn had then spoke to Lakoda in a hushed voice. They conversed for a few moments before Shawn threw a rock into the forest. "Sharing secrets without me now are we? And throwing rocks into forests? You're an odd one Shawn." He looked over toward the forest trying to scout out any followers they may have picked up. He looked back up toward the roof of the carriage before closing his eyes. "Hey little miss? Let me know when you're starting to get tired. I'll take over the reins for you when you do." e called out to Lakoda as he smiled.
    (Aaaaand due to a busy week, can't really spend too much time with formats and pics this week. Sorry guys)
    Delivery of Cakes- Lakoda, Yukyo, and Shawn
    Lakoda looked over at Shawn, taken aback that he picked up on her uneasiness. She knew he meant well with his words, but still she chewed on the inside of her cheek. She was nervous to be in the forest, and nervous that they were being followed, but this was the wrong place for that fear... It happened elsewhere after all. Only a few handful of people knew what was in her history. She didn't like to talk about it much. It was then Shawn threw a rock in the forest, and she looked at him with a quirk of her brow. When it seemed to just scare some birds and a bunny rabbit, she shrugged her shoulder and then glanced over at Yukyo. "I will," she said with a small smile and glanced ahead again to keep her eyes on the road. "I'm alright for now."
    ***Just then, shadows moved above them in the trees. Lakoda didn't notice as she was distracted talking to Yukyo. One moved on the side of the wagon, about ten feet away at a quick and silent speed, almost faster than the wagon. Someone was following after them.
    Village in Peril- Conrad, Everette, Samuel
    Renza made her face in a shape of an o and then turned back to Farm Ol. "This is Conrad. He's from that one Rose guild. He and his friends came to help us."
    Farmer Ol was patient with the small exchange and smiled gently at the little girl and then looked to the mage. He nodded his head and then brushed off his dusty hand on his pants before taking Conrad's hand and shook it. "Thank you, we've been desperate lately... I know you're not here just to check up on an old man though..." He leaned against his garden ho and got comfortable standing up. "How can an old farmer help ya?"
    With Everette...
    The chief nodded his head. "There's a road leading to the river from here..." He then subconsciously went to scratch at his neck, only to stop and cleared his throat. "This way." He led Everette to one of the houses where a barrel was sitting there with a spout leading from the roof to the container. It was sitting up off the ground on cylinder looking blocks and had a spigot at the bottom. "Every house has this system... Each roof is outline by a drainage system we keep clean on a regular basis and catches the rain water into the barrel... Sometimes we're able to store at least three barrels at a time for each household." He moved around to where a shed of some kind stood, and opened it, showing more storage containers with water. "This is the water we mostly drink and cook with."
    A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea
    The group was free to talk to the kiddos. The adults and the butler was staying back, chatting quietly to themselves.
    There was a 12 year old that looked like a younger version of Maliel sitting on the ground and rolling a red ball idly back and forth. A group of three boys were near by, chatting with one another and finishing up playing a game of dominos. An older girl was kneeling on the other side of the room, helping a four year old clean her muddy shoes with a smile.
    GO FORTH.
    Gavin stood there for a moment looked at the others. He was a little surprised that Zephyr had been so silent. He would have thought that he would have said something but he did not. With nothing to do but to go and talk to the children he walked into the room. He noticed a few people that he could talk to. There was a 12 year old that looked like a younger version of Maliel, A group of three boys and an older girl was kneeling on the other side of the room, helping a four year old clean her muddy shoes with a smile. Thinking that the best option was to talk to the youngest person he could see he made his way over slowly. Young children were typical the ones that you could get the most truth out of. He walked over to the young girl and took a seat right by her so that he would be on her level. He just smiled at her for a moment. He then said said, "Hello my name name is Gavin and I would like to ask so questions about the music and fog." He thought it might be best to keep it as simple as possible and tried to be as friendly as possible so as to not scare off the child.
    He waited a moment for the child to process what he just said and then asked, "Can you tell me what happens when you hear the music and sound of a flute? When the fog comes in and what happens with the older children. It is OK if you do not understand it but tell me the best you can", he said with a smile. He was trying to not overwhelm the child with so many questions at once so he only asked a few. While he waited for an answer he looked out to the others to see what they were doing.
    Yukyo had said "Sharing secrets without me now are we? And throwing rocks into forests? You're an odd one Shawn." He signed again it was clear Yukyo didn't understand. "Strategy not secrets, odd maybe but being different can change your view on many things, it can make horrible things happen and wonderful things happen." Not wanting to talk any more he looked back into the forest while Yukyo and Lakoda talked. He then noticed shadows moved above them in the trees. What was that. "Something is following us, Yukyo help me, Lakoda get us out of here" He thought for a moment on what to do. Sandstorm, or something else, closing his eyes for a moment focusing on what he wanted to happen, opening them again. Sandstorm could ruin the cakes and Madam Madeleine did say to keep them safe, even though he still believed there was more to it, he didn't want to chance it. What was it Madam Madeleine said: to look for the power within, did that mean the baby or something else, no time to dell on that now as he made Earth wall on either side of the wagon hopping whatever hit it, as soon as they were far enough away he would make a sandstorm so they could lose whoever this was, and cast it behind them so not to ruin the cakes, but he have to wait a few moments to see if the wall worked.
    Following to the barrel coming from the house, Everette knew that it wouldn't be the cause of the issue. Given that each house had their own different system, the water from house to house, the the quality of it would change. For the illness to be so wide spread, it likely spawned from one source. Even so, Everette took another couple of bottle filling them from the barrel next to the house and one from the shed, marking them as well with the pen before putting it all back in his bag. "So each house collects their own drinking water, that is good to know, it helps narrow down possibilities." Everette stated looking around town. "Anything else you think I should have a look at. I would like to go up to the river, but that can wait for a bit. I doubt I will have time for that before I have to meet up with my friends. After though I would like to go see." Now it was a matter of filling a few more minutes before it was time to meet up with everyone else.
    [IMG]
    Looking around Gavin had gone off to talk to a small child, meanwhile Thea noticed a group of boys off to the side playing. Not really knowing how to talk to people or asking them, about what was happening. So she could pretend she was doing work and really just leave it to Gavin and Zephyr, by making any conversation really. Walking over Thea looked over the boys shoulders to see what they were doing. "So.... What cha playing?" Thea asked curiously. She didn't actually know much about domino's. She had seen them before but never played with them herself.Thea didn't much care she might be interrupting conversation.
    The children all seemed to be in their own little worlds when they had arrived, not really paying any of them any attention. Zephyr on the other hand, not really knowing what to say, just stood there at first. He was tempted to just stand by the wall and wait. Though that might not be for the best. They were already protective of the kids and he didn't want to give any reason to throw them out. With a shrug of his shoulders, Zephyr decided to walk over towards the girl playing with the red ball. "Do you have an older sister by any chance?"
    Conrad smiled as the little girl introduced him to the farmer. "
    Well met." Conrad said "And don't thank us yet, thank us when this is all over." Conrad looked around him at the farm. "You are correct in assuming so, I'd like to ask a few questions for our investigation into this disease that has been wreaking havoc within the village. First I'd like to ask about how many people have gotten outsiide of the village at the farms?" Conrad asked, if there were far fewer or no victims here at all then the source lay in the village. "I'd also like to see the animals and the crops in the fields, althought I must admit I am not an expert so I'd have to rely on your expertise. Have there been any sick animals or crops that are not healthy?" Conrad asked, it was better to admit he was going to have to rely on the expertise of the farmer. "And if possible I would like some samples so my friend can look into them to look for potential sources of the disease. I am aware I am asking a lot of you in this hour of need and I would understand it if you couldn't fulfill all requests." Conrad said, this might not have been the easiest mission to go on and it would require some work to get it done.
    Yukyo nodded his head as Lakoda smiled. As Shawn spoke, Yukyo lied back and looked over to him. Yukyo then spoke. "Now a philosopher? Interesting. You're not wrong though. I'll give you that." Yukyo closed his eyes for a bit. Relaxation ended quickly before it began as Shawn notified the other two that someone was on their trail. Yukyo got up and then spoke. "We need a plan before we do anything reckless. We got to think about the cakes first. Whatever you think might work, it might backfire." Yukyo looked out the carriage to find the stranger tailing them. He saw Shawn put up two Earth walls. "Lakoda, can you speed up a little bit? I have an idea." Yukyo searched through his bag. "Good thing I brought those oranges." Yukyo went over the edge and held out the bag of oranges. "Oranges away!" Yukyo dropped the oranges as the carriage continued moving. He then looked over to Shawn. "Plan B" He gestured to the oranges as he smiled.
    Delivery of Cakes- Shawn, Yukyo, Lakoda
    [IMG]
    Lakoda nodded her head in response to Yukyo's and Shawn's request and snapped the reins of the wagon. The horses lurched forward, and Lakoda briefly glanced back at the delivery to make sure it was alright. It was tide down and covered with a blanket, staying in place in the wagon. She then looked back ahead and gasped when she saw someone in the way, but couldn't stop the wagon suddenly. Just as they appeared, they disappeared in a flash before they were hit.
    The oranges that were spilled out were suddenly picked up by snake looking things that were black, yet flat and gliding along the ground like a shadow. Oranges were suddenly chucked at the boys, trying to hit them back BEHIND the wagon... since walls were preventing them from going on the sides.
    "Not that I can think of," the chief said with an exasperated sigh. "The river might be a good place to look. We hadn't been able to go up there since the storm hit us. Too much to do, and so little time to do it." Chief Yolvun looked to the town hall and frowned a little. "It seems like it comes and goes in spikes... I mean the severity of it. One moment, we'll have several days where people are sick and dying, or near death's door... And then it tappers off and we get a moment to breathe."
    [IMG]
    "Well," the farmer began, stroking his beard, "we always go to the village on Market Days... The village barely comes to us. We are all spread out after all. No one out here has really gotten sick, unless we've ventured into the village lately. Same with the animals. That's why the village is quarantined, you see." The farmer stood up from his garden hoe and held it in his hand, ruffling, Renza's hair as he walked by. "Why don't you go feed the ducks, dear. I know how much you love them."
    [IMG]
    Renza giggled with a nod of her head and then ran off towards the pond where the quacking of ducks could be heard.
    Farmer Ol smiled as he watched the young girl run off and shook his head. "She lost her parents not long ago... No one had really the chance to take her in as their own though. Not with this disease around. We've been raising her ourselves, and she's been sleeping at the chief's house." He cleared his throat and wiped the back of his neck with a handkerchief, taking Conrad over to the stables. "Anyways, we have a different water source from the rest of the village. We get our water from the mountain snow in streams that come by to the different farms. Not from the main river that comes underground to the village... The crops have been fine... The animals... I have a few sick ones that hadn't gotten any better ever since I took them to the village." He opened the barn doors and walked over to one stall that seemed to be quarantined off from the rest. Inside there were two horses, a donkey, and some sheep. Each of them seemed to have skin lesions, around the eyes, mouth, and nose especially. They were all laying down, having labored breathing and the food was untouched. "I don't know what's the matter with them... I've tried every herbal remedy, but nothing seems to be working."
    A Price Unpaid- Gavin, Zephyr, Thea
    The little girl looked up at Gavin and shyed away for a moment, nuzzling into the maid that was helping her clean her muddy shoes.
    The maid looked down at the little girl. "Don't be rude, Cindy. It's alright." She looked up at Gavin and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, she's a little shy. You're the mages that are here to help, right?" She dried off her hands and then placed a hand on the little girl's shoulder. "It's okay, Cindy. You can answer his questions. He's here to help us out."
    Cindy nodded her head and looked up at Gavin. "I dun know what happens when fog wolls in, mister," she answered honestly as she clutched on the maid's outfit. "We gotta go to bed eawry, and I stay asweep all nigh. I only heard the floot music a few times, but I always go back to sweep. Even when I wanna stay awake."
    One of the boys looked over at Thea and smiled gently. "We're playing Dominoes," he said with a smile. "Are you new in town?"
    "No, I don't think so," said the boy with suspenders. "She came in with those other teenagers. Are you a mage?"
    One had ruffles around his neck and a teddy-bear in his lap. He stayed quiet as he silently placed a domino down by one that was placed down earlier.
    The twelve year old looked up at Zephyr, raising an eyebrow at him in curiosity. "Yes... Her name is Maliel," she said quietly. "She can't come see me much for some reason though," she said softly as she looked back at the ball and rolled it between her hands. Realization suddenly came over her and she looked up at the young man with wide eyes. "Oh, you were the ones that threw the ball over the wall... Thank you," she said with a smile. "That was really nice of you."
    Conrad listened to the farmer explain things and dismiss the little girl to feed the ducks. He listened attentively as the farmer explained that no one out there got sick unless they had been the village, so the source definitely lay within the village. They had a different water source with their water coming straight from the snow in the mountains so that wasn't going to be the source either. There were some sick animals and Conrad walked closer and simply looked not touching the animals. The disease seemed to be focused around the heads of the animals. The animals didn't get into contact with the sick people. "Have you been back to the village with these animals since they have gotten sick? And did they eat or drink anything in the village?" Conrad asked, the disease didn't seem to be contagious, infection happened back in the village for presumably both the animals and the people who lived out here that have gotten sick. The food the animals had been given remained untouched and it sounded like they had difficulty breathing. "Have they eaten or drank anything since they have gotten sick? And you mentioned they haven't gotten better but have they gotten any worse or have they been the same?" Conrad asked, nothing seemed to change the course of the disease, no herbal remedy atleast. Perhaps magic could help but Conrad wasn't a healer, he couldn't be of much health.
    The oranges that were spilled out were suddenly picked up by snake looking things that were black, yet flat and gliding along the ground like a shadow. Oranges were suddenly chucked at the boys, trying to hit them back BEHIND the wagon... since walls were preventing them from going on the sides. Thanks Yukyo he thought this was just perfect. "Yukyo, what do you think about turning to a horse or something perhaps making us go faster. I could used sandstorm and send it behind us, what do you think Lakoda? Another option is that we could stop and fight them, any ideas Lakoda?" He stood there blocking the cakes from the oranges, blocking them in whatever way he could. Time to play baseball he thought pulling out his sword using it to knock oranges away perfectly slicing a few in the process. Holding the sword tightly ready for what came next.
    Farmer Ol thought for a moment as he leaned against the stall, looking on to the sick animals. "They always have a drink of water when they get there. And the hay that's already there." He then shook his head at the question if he took them back to the village. "No, they've become so violently sick, I didn't want them to be around the other animals or villagers. They've been here since the first bought of illness... And they've stayed pretty much the same. Just recently they hadn't been a fan of any food... Poor creatures can hardly keep anything down in their guts. I have to puree the food and try to feed them that way to keep it in their gizzards."
    As he waited for a response he looked out to Thea and Zephyr hoping that they were finding out information too. He then brought his attention back to the little girl. The first thing he noticed was that she seemed to be shying away. "It is OK I am here to help." That was when the maid looked down at the little girl and said, 'Don't be rude, Cindy. It's alright.' The maid then looked up at Gavin and smiled apologetically. 'I'm sorry, she's a little shy. You're the mages that are here to help, right?' "It is fine I remember when I was younger I was not much different and yes we are here to help." He had to hide away his magic, but he was shy because of his magic and hid away because of it. "It is OK Cindy," he said trying to comfort Cindy. 'I dun know what happens when fog wolls in, mister,' she answered honestly as she clutched on the maid's outfit. 'We gotta go to bed eawry, and I stay asweep all nigh. I only heard the floot music a few times, but I always go back to sweep. Even when I wanna stay awake.' That was interesting he found out some things.
    Now he just had to hope that the others found out some things. "Thank you Cindy." He then turned his attention to the maid. "So, what happens to you when the fog and the music of the flute plays." He was trying to piece the puzzle together and this was just one more piece. Once he got some information from the maid he might be able to put things together. He was starting to get some ideas of what was going on but could not be sure until he got more information and find out what the others found out.
    Zephyr had a feeling that this was Maliel's sister, so the confirmation was good to know. With a light chuckle, Zephyr returned the smile. "No problem." He couldn't deny that he was curious as to why her sister hadn't visited her. At night was understandable, but that still left during the day. "Is there a reason your sister hasn't come by? Maybe its related to her work." After all she did work for the mayor and the mayor wasn't exactly someone you could disobey. Not that he's ever interacted with a mayor prior til now. His home had a village head who was an uncle of sorts to Zephyr.
    Giving the chief a slight nod Everette looked back to the town hall. "Thank you very much Chief Yolvun I will make my way up there as soon as I meet back up with Conrad and Samuel." After all Everette was a little paranoid about being late coming back after he was so strict telling the other two that they had to be back on time. Venturing up to the river outside of town would not be a good example. "It was a pleasure having you guide me, I will ensure we do our best to figure this out and help restore your town." With that Everette started to stroll back towards the town centre.
    Thea smiled and nodded at the boys. "Yep! I am a mage with Divine Rose! We are here to help your town so you guys don't have to be locked in here all the time. It must be boring being in here isn't it? Having to play with those little plastic blocks and all. They kinda look boring. And why do they have a bunch of dots on them anyways?" The crouched down next to them to get a better look at the domino's that the boy was putting down. "Oh! I am Thea by the way!" She stated as she lit a small fire at the tip of her finger and spelled her name in the air, the red flames lingering for a moment before they disappeared.
