358/2 Days Do you know what I noticed?

Roxas is never shown creating a portal on his own. Or at least, from what I've seen in the Days movie.....

Any thoughts as to why he isn't shown using a portal?

 

I dunno. he does make them ingame though

He did when he went to see xemnas at that sea.

 

He did in kh2 before he fought sora. Still it's kinda weird I guess.

 

He did when he was running from Destiny Islands in the Riku taking care if Xion scene.

 

Well, his moniker is about being the "key to light" (or something similar; too lazy to look it up atm), so it'd make sense that he's hesitant to create his own dark corridors unless it's absolutely necessary -- maybe for confronting Xemnas or running from danger.

the presence of Ven's heart had something to do with his reluctance to rely on darkness, especially after what Vanitas did and what Terra became.

 

I believe his name was Key of Destiny, but he still uses them now and then, and we can only tell how much he has over the days that have been skipped in the game.

 

I think in most part of the game he is a newbie, so he doesn't know how to make those! After that he was always doing missions so They would open the portal while saying "go do your job!".

But since he starts working alone he had to make those to come back to base, so I guess is not that he couldn't do those (if this is what are you implying). Naminé also had some problem to make dark corridors at the begining but eventually she learned and saved Sora & Cia at the end of KH 2.. Roxas also uses the corridors before fighting Sora, so he has the ability.

 

Let's not forget that the coat he's wearing is made to severely suppress the use of darkness, as well as it's control. Maybe in retropect he couldn't use it that very often for different purposes. For instance, he was probably too weak, or his coat suppressed nearly all his control, or he just didn't want to, or maybe it was just poor editing. But for certain, the characteristics of Ven didn't kick in that quickly. If anything he became like Ven right after the rebellion of Xion.

 

Maybe he hesitates to open corridord of darkness because, unlike other organization members, he has a heart so the darkness would have more influence on him

 

He doesn't know he has a heart, and the cloak he wears protects him anyways

 

And didn't we learn that he wasn't the only one with a heart?

 

Yes, he doesn't know he has a heart, but maybe he can fell the darkness more than other members so he hesitates to open corridors of darkness because he is scared. Only an hypothesis though.

 

Many of the Oganization members also had hearts, though

 

Even so, he's got the coat to protect him. Works well enough for everyone else.

 

Wait, they developed over time so if they did indeed have hearts wouldn't most of them be rotten due to neglect?

 

I doubt the heart could rot, and I don't think it was neglected for some members, they pretended to have emotions, which might mean they used their heart to some extent. Also, I', pretty sure Roxas could make a portal just like any other organization member.

 

I know it can't but lets face it it would probably be small like the grinch before his heart grew three sizes that day.
