A sort of dystopian world - in a future North America, there is the country of Panem where the United States once existed. The rulers of this country keep their once rebelling districts in check by an annual event - The Hunger Games
Your forehead is beaded with sweat. Your whole body feels weakened. Your hands are cold and clammy. Checking your breathing, you find that it's coming out in short rasps. You try to control yourself. You never know, your name might not even be drawn, you're just a few in thousands.
Thousands. The thought comforts you slightly as you begin to calm down. With a steady eye, you watch your district's Capitol escort make their way over to the reaping bowls – very large glass balls filled with the thousands of names of the boys and girls in your district. Your names is on one of them. What's one in thousands? As your escort draws the name from the ball, there's a collective breath taken and it becomes silent enough to be able to hear a pin drop. You're feeling nauseous now, becoming nervous. You don't breath. The only thing you can do is think – Please don't let it be me, please, don't let it be me.
Suddenly the name is called – your district's people breath and you open your eyes. Everyone is looking at you. Why are they all looking at you? For just a moment, you're a bit confused, disoriented. Then it hits you. It was your name they called. You're now a tribute in the 40th Annual Hunger Games. Everything after that passes in a blur. The anthem plays, your swept away by Peacekeepers and into the Justice Building of your district, you're walked into a room and then left alone. How do you feel? Only you know. No one else can. These feelings are impossibly to detect by anyone else. Maybe you're proud to represent your district. Maybe you've trained for this. Or you could be just a normal Panem citizen. Maybe you're scared. Possibly, you're sad. You have the next hour allotted to you to say goodbye to whomever you wish. Parents, brothers, sisters, lovers even. Perhaps even a complete stranger, just so you don't have anyone you know see you cry if, by chances, you're sad. The Peacekeepers come again and escort your visitors out. You're alone again. Just a little while later, you're come for, and it's a relatively short ride from the Justice Building to the train station. It's clustered with numerous reporters, most with cameras – you'd be right not to show any emotion, not let them see what you're feeling. Unless, of course, you're feeling proud that you've been set to try your best and kill twenty-three other kids your age. You see the other tribute of your district and wonder how they're feeling. Maybe better than you, maybe not. You're then hauled into the train and the doors close behind you. You're now out of the public eye. The train takes off with speed, you're now on your way to the Capitol – and possibly your death too. Congratulations to you, tribute of the 40th Annual Hunger Games.

If you choose, you're free to choose what ever District you want for your Mentor and your second Tribute only. ➵ You don't have to have two mentors for each District, one is fine, and their gender doesn't matter either. ➵ There are 36 slots, and one person is allowed their three characters - Two Tributes and one Mentor ➵ Please, please, please, do not be a bitch when your character dies, they all have to at some point and it is likely that yours will too - take it in stride, everything will be alright. ➵ When you're in interaction with a character, you MUST KEEP UP WITH THE ROLEPLAY and CHECK IT AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. One of the Gamemakers will track you don't if you don't. This rule matters especially when you're in combat. ➵ The Gamemakers are the only ones allowed to godmod, and it will always be for the purpose of moving the story along, or tweaking other things.

Career Tribute Districts are districts in which all potential Tributes are trained and prepared for The Hunger Games. It is illegal to train in anyway for the Games, but because of their wealth and closer ties to the Capitol, the Career Districs tend to get away with it. Career Tributes (or as they're more simply known as: Careers) tend to be the strongest, most agile players in the Games because of their having practically trained since birth. If a Career is not picked to participate in the Games, they usually always volunteer. Having been given enormous support from their families and fellow district citizens, they also normally have tremendous mental and psychological advantage over the other tributes. When one volunteers, there is much more of a commotion at the Reaping than there should be, seeing as in the poorer districts, volunteering is viewed heavily as signing a death warrant. Normally, before the Games actually start, Careers tend to form alliances among themselves which will have them cooperating when the Games get underway to secure weapons/supplies and take out common and weaker opponents. During the initial bloodbath at the very start of the Games, this gives them an edge. Once all other opponents are out of the way, the Careers turn on each other. Although they have many advantages due to being from a Career District, Careers have a severe disadvantage due to being well fed all of their lives - this means that they do not know how to be hungry, that when they lack food, they will quickly lose energy because they have always eaten well enough - of course, this is excepted if they know how to hunt well, but sometimes, even in that field, they have no real experience. Districts I, II, and IV tend to produce the most Careers because of how wealthy they are. Of course, any other district can produce one too, if the Tribute has the skill.
District I: The main export of this district is luxury. This includes, but is not limited to, diamonds, all manner of jewels, precious gems, fine clothing, everything that is luxurious in Panem, it is more than likely an import from District One. It seems that parents often name their children after the names of precious items and their attributes, examples being Perfumer, Furrier, Jeweler, Goldsmith, Winemaker, Gem, Jewel, Tapestry, Silk, and so on. It is a very wealthy district and also a Career Tribute District.
District II: The main export of this district is masonary. This includes, but is not limited to, bricks, cement, stone cutting, cinderblocks, and other mineral products. This district is also the main source of the weapons in Panem, such as guns and bombs. The district is made up of many small villages that sound a mine. Jobs here include stonemason, concrete finisher, bricklayer, brickmason, and plasterer. Tributes from this district are normally brawny and well fed, and it is a Career Tribute District, a very wealthy one as well.
District III: The main export of this district is technology. This includes, but it is not limited to, computers, wires, underground bombs, connections, networking, computer hardware, computer software, HTML, and other coding. Names of this district's citizens tend to include things relative to technology, such as Code, Wiress, BB, Nettie, Connect, and soforth. While a happier district, the citizens are a bit rebellious, mostly all work in factories, and are normally tecnologically smart. It isn't a very rich district, and is middle to lower class.
District IV: The main export of this district is fishing. This includes, but is not limited to, fish, seafood, nets, tridents, harpoons, fishing hooks, ships, and other boats. This district is highly resourceful as the people of it can weave nets, use tridents, make fish hooks from nearly anything, swimming well, and identifying edible sea life. Although it is a wealthy district, it has been noted that it has a sort of quiet and underlying rebellious spirit. This district is also near the sea, and some jobs include longliner, trawler, canner, ship captain, and deckhand. A Career Tribute District.
District V: The main export of this district is power. This includes, but is not limited to, electricity, solar power, and wind power. The children of this district tend to not take much tessarae, so it seems that this is a higher middle class district, and produces intelligent and clever people. The Tributes of this district are often not offensive and bide their time until all the other competitors kill each other, and then make their move, resulting in several from this district to win over the years. They are often prepared for the games, but mostly die near the middle, lasting about seven to ten days in the arena.
District VI: The main export of this district is transportation. This includes, but is not limited to, manufacturing cars, trains, railroads, helicopters, jets, and hovercrafts. While a great deal of the district is lovwer class, there are a good few parts that are middle. Most of the older people, even some of the younger ones, are addicted to a painkiller known as Morphling, used only for severe injuries. Generally, the Tributes of this district are strong, but since non have any prior training, unless they are self-taught, they die near the middle of the Games.
District VII: The main export of this district is lumber. This includes, but is not limited to, lumber and paper products. It is a lower-class district, but has lots of forests, and the people of it are hardworking and down-to-earth. The people of this district are strong and pretty well fed, having arm strength that exceeds average and most are good with axes. Some jobs are lumberjack, load puller, lead climber, furniture builder, and carpenter.
District VIII: The main export of this district is textiles. This includes, but is not limited to, cloth, clothes, needles, thread, and uniforms. Most people of the district work in factories and are often paid little, forcing teenagers to take tessarae. Due to such a condense of factories, the district is polluted and some of the people are not so healthy, but in general, the whole district seems rather more content than others. The Capitol keeps a close eye on this district because it is always subject to rebel - as the people are a short-tempered and impatient. Tributes from this district are often unprepared for the Games.
District IX: The main export of this district is grain. This includes, but is not limited to, bread, pasta, rice, oats, flour, and cereal. Although it has many factories, it is a clean district with lots of fresh air and fields of grain stretching far and wide. This may be the case, but much of the district's population lives in urban areas, often causing the Tributes to be unprepared. However, some of the Tributes are produced from the farm area, and so they may always have a higher chance for survival.
District X: The main export of this district is livestock. This includes, but is not limited to, cows, pigs, chicken, beef, pork, and other farm animals. Due to the fact that it is a great source of food for the country, it is a more middle class district, although it does have its poor sections. Most of the district is made up of ranch area and there are not many teenagers around, but Tributes are normally fed and strong, and also have an edge due to handling knifes and treating animal wounds.
District XI: The main export of this district is agriculture. This includes, but is not limited to, seeds, apples, oranges, wheat, corn, and other fruits and vegetables. Regardless of all the food produced, the people are often underfed and the Tributes are mostly weak and unprepared for the games, though many can climb and find edible berries and fruit well. A lot of the people have darker hair and skin due to working out in the sun all day, and the land is large and spreading and beautiful, despite some bloodshed of its citizens. The Peacekeepers of this district are especially harsh.
District XII: The main export of this district mining. This includes, but is not limited to, coal and fuel. It is the poorest district of Panem and most all of the people are underfed and so they are starving. Many of the older kids sign up many times for tesserae, risking their chances of being chosen for the Games, but have families to provide for. The Tributes provided from this district often die early in the games, having no prior training or preparation unless they train themselves.
This year's arena has been decided by The Gamemakers to go in the style of the four elements. That being the case, there are five sections: it is a large circle, and in the center will lie the metal Cornucopia, surrounded by a twenty-yard radius of green grass; in essence, it is just a large field. To each diagonal of this area is a section which represents one of the four elements: fire, wind, water, and earth.
The Volcanic Area: A rather barren stretch of land with one very large volcano that borders the very edge of the arena and will erupt every two days. There are only a few trees, but they are all brittle, and set to break at any time - they can't hold much weight. The rest of the land is rock and other small hills of rock. Deadly ligers and and other fierce cats keep their abode here - they're just waiting for you to be their next dinner.

When the volcano erupts, there's no safe place - only the caves, which are a bit difficult to find. In the three or four small hills of rock, there is one cave, but they are slightly hiddend and go under ground where the Tribute will be safe from the scalding heat of the deadly lava.

The Dead Forest/Windy Area: A rather thick forest of eerily dead trees and autumn leaves are scattered all about the floor, making it hard to walk in silence. It can get quite foggy here, and so the best travel would be by branch, but step on a wrong one and you're sure to fall to major injury, leaving you incredibly vulnerable to any other Tribute that happens to be hunting for your head.

Every two days, a disastrous tornado rips through the section, whipping up any stray thing that doesn't happen to be firmly planted on the ground. Surprisingly enough, the dead trees, which seem so frail, meet tolerably well to these strong gusts of wind. If a Tribute so happens to be caught up in one of these powerful whirlwinds, they are thrown in the same area as the Cornucopia, for any spying Tributes to see and maybe kill.

The Icy/Water Area: An area in which snow is an infinite and nothing else seems to be prominent. Several strong igloos are scattered throughout the section for the reason that there is an incredibly strong and destroying blizzard every two days. If caught in this blizzard, a Tribute is sure to be frozen to death, but this area is great for fishing and surprisingly and easy place to start fires.

It wouldn't be a great idea to travel off of the snowy banks, though, unless you're an especially good swimmer because the waters are tough and the waves are strong. Freezing in the water isn't that much of a worry because the water is always at room temperature unless it's night time - in which case, you'll certainly freeze. Ice bergs are still a common thing, and actually have small caves in them, if you're willing to be trapped because you can't swim.

The Forest/Mountain Area: As far as normal goes, this is the most normal section, unless you're willing to risk being out in the openess of the Cornucopia area. Many tall trees reside in this area and it is prominent for small animals such as squirrels and rabbits and birds. Wolves and foxes also reside, so any tribute will be competing with natural predators. Berries and plants of all kind are out here too, if you know how to find them. There are rivers and ponds, and some caves, but it rains here often enough. There are no very crazy distasters happening in this area. No, the Tributes are safe here - except from each other of course. And the bears. And tracker jackers, and vultures too.

The wild is your only challenge in the forest.
Every District has two leading stylists that design their outfits. These would be outfits for the opening ceremony in the City Circle of the Capitol, the interview before the Games and then the interview after the Games, for whichever tribute survives. The opening ceremony consists of each district's Tributes mounting a glorious chariot and being paraded out towards the City Circle for all of the citizens of Panem to see. Each Tribute will be dressed in attire that represents what their district exports. So long as it represents the Tribute's district in some way, it doesn't matter what they're wearing - they can even been nude, but tread carefully around that prospect.
ArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArray
After the City Circle parade in which all of the Tributes are presented to the citizens of Panem, the chariots will immediately take them to the Training Center, a skyscraper that houses and trains the Tributes until the Games begin. This is also the place in which the Tributes will receive their scores after they have preformed for the the Gamemakers, when the score are broadcast on television for the other citizens of Panem to see. The servants to the Tributes and Mentors and Stylist teams are the Avoxes, who also live within the Training Center, although in a different part of the building. Their sole duty is to serve the residents and guests of all of the Capitol, as well as tend to every person's need. For many reasons though, communication of any other kind is forbidden. Avoxes are citizens that came from any part of Panem, including the Capitol, but has committed an offence, little or big, against the laws of Panem and they were immediately transferred to the Capitol. Their punishment is removing their tongue so that they lose the ability to speak. There is one floor for each district, District one, being the lowest district floor, and Twelve being the top, having quick access to the roof. Below the housing floors is the lobby, and below that is the actual Training Center. It is a very large gymnasium filled with various training stations that support various special skills that are listed here:
• Archery
• Axes
• Camouflage
• Edible Insects & Plants
• Fire Making
• Fishing
• Hammock Making
• Hand-to-Hand Combat
• Knives
• Knots
• Shelters
• Slingshots
• Spears
• Swords
• Tridents
• Weightlifting
• Wrestling
[IMG]
There are also a few obstacle courses for the Tributes to run through that test several things, such as agility, speed, strength, and aim. Tributes are free to come and go to the Training Center as often as they'd like, so long as they always show up for each required training session. This is also where the Tributes will present themselves to be judged by The Gamemakers, who, upon seeing what they're capable of, will give them a numbered score between one and twelve - one being the worst, twelve being the best - it also doubles as their probability of surviving in the Arena. Generally, if the scores are higher the Tribute will be more likely to get more sponsors - people who pay the money to send gifts into the arena while the Games are taking place for the Tribute to use.
My name is Arkadi Svelka, I'm seventeen-years-old, and I'm from District IV. My main sponsor is Saxima and this is what I look like here. People say that if I were to use any kind of weapon, it'd be the bow & arrow, and that I specialize in hand-to-hand combat. I'm going to be a Tribute in The Hunger Games - there's going to be twenty-three other people out for my blood. I'm not sure how to feel about this, but I guess I could say that I feel strange that I might die, scared I might kill someone innocent, and confident that I could win.. I'll have to do my best to survive. Personality: Arkadi has a strong personality, and likes to contribute it to her long dead mother and father - also partially to her strong Russian lineage. All she can ever really say good of herself is that she has a soft spot for small children, especially ones that are orphans like herself. Her temper is something of a legend to be spoken of, since she can snap with the slightest irritation. She has no patience for weak people, especially those who have some sort of parent figure, and believes that she should always be just as strong as any man in her district, be able to do anything that they can, and try to do it better. Although she seems like the rough, tough, one-of-the-guys girl, she's very elegant and knows how to act like a lady when she needs to. When she's prepared to do something, she won't take no for an answer and she won't be scared out of doing it. She, much like the rest of District IV, is constantly wary of the actions of the Capitol, and so she a little rebellious in every act she can be. Even though she's from a Career District, she would never stoop so low as to team up with those who are completely willing to kill who could be innocents. History: When Arkadi was just five years old, her mother and father took a ship out in the morning, as they usually did every morning, to catch the part of the day's shipment. Hundreds of the district's people did it, but she always thought her mother and father were the best. In the afternoon, Arkadi's father's friend had broken the news to her that her parents had passed at sea due to an accident with another ship. Arkadi has always believed that it was never an accident, but something the Capitol pulled because her parents were strong people, that they had something to do with the First Rebellion. After, she was raised by a few different people of the town, always moving to different homes, but never really minding, as she picked up many useful skills. She could hunt, use a trident, tie knots, make nets, swim well, and find all different kinds of fish and animals to eat. For her seventh birthday, her father's friend had given her a bow and taught her how to use it well, and would often take her out into the woods when there wasn't any other work to be done. It was also useful that he taught her to survive, but made sure to always break her confidence and crush her soul every now and then so that she could gain some humility. At age ten, one of her mother's closets friends, a musician, had taught her to play the violin and said that whenever she got mad or upset, to take the instrument out into the woods and simply play. Even though she had always had just enough to eat, she immediately signed up for tesserae when she turned twelve so that she could feel the homeless kids of the district. She had enough money to keep herself going and whatever she didn't absolutely need, she would trade it or give it away. Each year since she hasn't been selected to be a Tribute in the Games, she took whoever had the most chance of being in it and trained them aside from the people who would illegally train the Careers, saying that they had an unfair disadvantage, that just a little bit of knowledge on survival could go a long ways. Since she had learned to hunt, she had trained herself or with her uncle (she called her father's friend), being careful to stay out of the eye of the looming Capitol. Fears: Arkadi is scared she may kill an innocent, and is twitchy around tracker jacker nests.
My name is Apollo Verriso, I'm seventeen-years-old, and I'm from District IX. My main sponsor is AndrewTemari101 and this is what I look like this. People say that if I were to use any kind of weapon, it'd be a sickle, and that I specialize in edible insects and plants. I'm going to be a Tribute in The Hunger Games - there's going to be twenty-three other people out for my blood. I'm not sure how to feel about this, but I guess I could say that I feel extremely scared, but somewhat confident. I'll have to do my best to survive. Personality: A caring individual, Apollo is usually taken advantage of and easily manipulated. Suffering from minor histrionic personality disorder [ HPD ], he is constantly looking for approval and validation. Any bit of attention he receives, he eats it up and expects a second helping. Though this is a very off-putting trait for most people, his family and friends have become accustomed to it over the years. With his disorder, Apollo is not very popular amongst individuals his age. However, many younger peers look up to him as a role model and father-figure. Due to his lack of self-esteem, he is modest when given compliments, which in turn feeds into his HPD. Having to support his family and farm over the years, Apollo is a hard-worker and won't give up on his goals. History: To put it bluntly, Apollo grew up without a father. His father died of Coeliac disease, a common result of death among adults in District IX. Growing up in this district, Apollo learned how to use a sickle from a very young age. Having to support his mother and two younger siblings, he worked in the grain fields tirelessly. Despite his best efforts, he barely made enough profit to take care of his family and the farm. It was a huge burden on his shoulders, especially since he and his family were one of the few poor citizens of District IX. Occasionally, Apollo would have a surplus of income and buy and plant some high-grade wheat seeds in his personal plots of farmland. During this season, his family would have plenty to eat, and the excess was saved in a strongbox for later. Though he has suffered many tribulations over the years, Apollo resists to give up and will continue to make sure his family has everything they need. Fears: Wasps and losing his family

My name is Edward, I'm sixteen-years-old, and I'm from District XII. My main sponsor is Ventus and this is what I look like here. People say that if I were to use any kind of weapon, it'd be a sword, and that I specialize in Swordplay. I'm going to be a Tribute in The Hunger Games - there's going to be twenty-three other people out for my blood. I'm not sure how to feel about this, but I guess I could say that I feel Nervous, but ready for anything. I'll have to do my best to survive. Personality: I like having friends, and I am very protective of them. I'm a great guy, but I have a small temper problem. History:Edward is the best in his class. He used sticks to practice because he knew he might be elected for the Hunger Games. People called him paranoid, but he knew it would come in handy. He lives with his father, his mother, and his little sister. Fears: Losing everything, dying in the Games, never coming home again
