EMO or goth

Whats the difference and why do people do it all these questions rage in my mind can you plz anser me.

 

Well clothing styles are similar due to the fact the emo style has taken influences from the gothic look. Though both can be assocaited with being dark, goths in the media have just been known for being evil and worship satan (most don't) but emo's are known for being depressed and confused.

Look at it this way, Goths are known to like death, emos just cut themselves (so the sterotype says) so in a way they are pretty much a downgrade of a goth.

 

Well EMO which stands for emotional. They r the sad ones the depressed ones, they slit there wrists and apparently no one gets them.
Goths have common sense basically and dont slash their selves and they r much cooler :).
It mostly centers around the music they listen to anyway.

My cousin is EMO and she slashes her wrists all the time she has a massive scar saying WORTHLESS up her arm and she is just disturbed!
And my m8 used to b goth and his a cool guy.

 

You know not all emo cut them selves, i should know i just to be emo once, sure i use to hold a knift to my arm, but never hurt my self like that, and I did think I was nothing, but I got other it.

Not all goths are evil, I went to college with a goth once and he was a lovely lad, so don't think if you know one person who is a goth or emo, that every other goth and emo are the same, cus there not

 

Gothic is a style of fashion. People assiciate it with a group of people but it's actually just a fashion, one that developed in England. Gothic PEOPLE use the clothes as ways to get attention, express thier feelings, or to just make themselves feel better.

Emo epople however can be anyone. I know this preppy blond cheerleader, who wears bright colors and has on a perpetual smile. Everyone loves her, but everyone also knows she has scars all over her thighs and forearms, because she is "secretly" emo. Emo people are just in an extreme state of depression. sometimes the feeligns are un-explainable but emos truly have no relation to Gothic people other then the fact that emos like the dress in gothic clothes, yet again to express their feelings.

 

You obviously was not EMO then. Cause EMO's aint EMO's without a bit of blood or scars. In england (where i live) there is this place in surrey where loadsa EMOs hang and my cousin goes there with her EMO bf. And they are all covered in scars its rediculous!! Most of the time i swear its attention seeking!!

 

People have basically said it.
In Spain, Emos aren't really common though, it's more goths, or wannabe goths.

 

I'm emo, and I don't cut myself. Nuff said. :3

ok dudes i'm friends with an emo and she don't slit her wrists and I used to be semi-goth and i was'nt like ma m8 although i did get myself depressed all the time.Now back to listening to a blend of evanescence: my immortal and nightwish:nemo

Never said they weren't nice people, heck i'm a bit gothic and emo, I was just describing as the sterotype describes.

 

I'm not emo or goth cause i dont like that i have feelings and im never depressed so yay (;^_^;)
