Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi turned her head and looked up at Sora, her small smile disappearing due to her curiosity. "What did you have in mind?" she asked softly. What had they all done the last time they were at the park anyways? She couldn't remember, which saddened her a little bit. Regardless, she wanted to make up for it and, like Sora said, do something fun.

 

Sora brought his free hand to the back of his head, running it over his spikes. "Uh, well..." He had no idea what to do; it had been a while since he had any fun. What were they supposed to do?

Namine looked to her two friends, her eyes wandering up to Sora when he trailed off. Obviously he didn't any ideas, but Namine did. "How about a snowball fight?" she offered, remembering how much fun their last one had been.

 

Roxas looked down at Namine and felt himself smirk slightly, the boy taking his hands off her shoulders. "Nam, you should know that the best way to start a snowball fight wouldn't be to actually say it," he said softly. He moved a little and bent down, scooping snow into his hands. "You have to use the element of surprise!" he cried, standing up quickly and throwing the snowball in Sora's direction.

Kairi gasped and made sure to duck her head, that way she wouldn't be hit by the snowball. She thought she knew what Roxas was doing when he was talking to Namine, but it still caught her off guard. She was just thankful she wasn't the target, for now.

 

Sora's eyes widened at the incoming snowball, and he reacted as quickly as he could, bringing his hand off of Kairi's shoulder and using his arm to block the snowball. He felt the snow impact his arm and he scowled, lowering his arm and glaring at Roxas. "Oh, it's on now!" he cried, bending down quickly and scooping some snow, throwing it back at Roxas.

Namine quickly ducked, surprise in her eyes when Sora made a quick recovery. He had always been fast, but she realized that he must have gained more speed in the past few months.

 

"Whoa!" Roxas turned away and tried to duck, but the snowball got him on the back of his head. He whirled around and started laughing, running forward to a spot where there was more snow. Sora was right; it was game on!

 

Sora laughed as well, spinning around and running in the opposite direction of Roxas. He put himself behind a tree and bent down, scooping up some snow and forming a snowball.

Namine laughed softly, shaking her head to look over at her best friend. "Boys," she sighed, a smile on her lips. They were having fun, and of course, she was going to join in on that. But she wanted Kairi off guard; that would give her a head start.

 

Kairi turned her head away from Sora's direction at Namine's voice, her eyes finding her before seeing Roxas scoop up a snowball and start toward where Sora was. "Good to see that this side of them hasn't changed," she said, chuckling softly.

 

Namine's soft smile widened, the girl nodding in agreement. "Some things'll never change," she said with a smile. She reached down and grabbed some snow, quickly forming it into a ball before she rose to her feet, spinning around and throwing the snowball towards Kairi immediately.

 

Kairi saw Namine rise to her feet out of the corner of her eye and she turned her head to her in time to see her pull her arm back. Kairi lifted an arm as she shrieked in surprise, feeling the snowball hit her near her shoulder. She lowered her arm and looked to Namine with wide eyes. "You better run!" she cried, a smile coming to her lips as she jumped up from her seat, bending down to scoop up some snow.

Roxas slowed his pace as he got closer to the tree, knowing Sora was hiding on the other side. He held the snowball in his hand tightly, prepared to throw it at any time. "Oh, Sora," he called, taunting the brunet.

 

Namine laughed, following Kairi's advice. She ran around the bench and into the more open part of the park, closer to where Roxas was stalking Sora.

Sora smirked at the taunt, prepared to come out of his spot. He had a snowball in both hand as he jumped out, his blue eyes immediately catching onto a blond. He threw one snowball and then the other before he realized that he had just thrown at Namine. Whoops...

Namine's eyes widened when a snowball hit her lower leg, and then another one hitting her upper back. She yelped in surprise, her eyes wandering to the brunet near the tree.

 

Roxas saw what happened, but didn't hesitate taking this opportunity. He chucked his snowball in Sora's direction, laughter beginning to leave his lips at what had just occurred. He felt bad that Namine had been mistaken for him, but it was funny.

Kairi looked up when she heard Namine yelp, Roxas's laughter then entering her ears. She scooped snow into her hands and balled it up to make the snowball before straightening. Roxas thought that was funny, huh? Well he was in for a surprise himself, the blond's back to her.

 

Namine saw Roxas throw the snowball, and she couldn't help but smile. She knelt down and started forming a snowball of her own, her eyes landing on Sora after a moment.

Sora felt the snow impact his shoulder, the brunet snapping back to attention after that. He looked to Roxas and felt a smirk appearing on his lips before he started forming another snowball, his eyes staying on the two blonds.

 

Kairi took a few quick steps forward for momentum, the girl pulling her arm back and then throwing the snowball at Roxas.

Roxas felt something cold immediately impact the back of his neck, making him shrug and freeze up. He whirled around and saw the redhead looking guilty. "Kairi..." he said, his tone one of warning.

Kairi bit her lip to hide her grin, but she didn't think it worked too well. She chuckled slightly, nervous by the look on Roxas's face. "Uh...it slipped?" she tried, and she saw Roxas give her a look that said what he hadn't spoken himself: You're kidding me, right?

 

Sora chuckled, a single thought crossing his mind when he saw Kairi's actions: That's my girl. He smiled and threw his snowball at Roxas, taking advantage of the situation. At the same time, though, he saw Namine pull back her arm and throw one at him. He ducked, seeing it go over his head.

Namine brought a hand to her lips, seeing the way that Sora was now looking at her. She was in trouble now, that was for sure.

 

Roxas felt yet another snowball hit him in the back of the head, his eyes squeezing shut from the force of the throw. He turned around and knew that it came from Sora, seeing that Namine was facing the brunet anyway. The blond boy fisted his hands and sighed. "Quit picking on me, you guys!" he mock-whined, hearing Kairi giggle once he was finished.

 

Sora chuckled, shaking his head. "Alright, Roxas, I'll cut you some slack," he said with a smile. He turned his head to face Namine, the brunet arching a brow. He reached down and scooped up some snow, forming a quick snowball and throwing it at Namine.

Namine's eyes widened and she spun around, feeling the snowball impact her back. At least Sora hadn't been aiming for her face; she was glad he was being gracious with that. Still, though, he was going to keep hitting her with snow because of the one that she threw at him.

 

Roxas smiled slightly and then saw that instead of going for him, Sora was attacking Namine instead. Okay, fine. He had an idea of his own. "Oh, Kairi," he sang, turning his head to look across his shoulder at the girl. He blinked in shock, though, when she wasn't there. "Huh?"

"Ha!" Kairi cried, running up behind Roxas and stuffing snow down the back of his coat. She heard him cry out and watched him squirm but couldn't help laughing, backing up a few steps. This was too fun.

 

Namine ran behind a tree, catching her breath as she knelt down and scooped up some snow. What an unfair fight! Sora was faster than she was, and he would definitely beat her in this fight.

Sora scooped up some snow as he walked, standing upright and patting the snow in his hands as he approached the tree his friend was behind. "Namine," he called, a smile on his lips. She knew that she was in trouble after hitting him with a snowball earlier, so there was no point in her avoiding judgment.

 

Roxas shrugged off his coat quickly and wasn't surprised to see a glob of snow fall to the ground. Holding it in his hand, he lifted his other hand to the collar of his long-sleeved shirt, lifting it and shaking it a little to get the rest of the snow off the back of his shirt. He shivered, both because of his wet back and the fact that his coat was off. "Kairi!" Roxas called, his voice representing a tone of warning as he lifted his eyes to her, his features showing that she was in trouble and that even if she did put snow down his back, just like the year before, he was still having fun.

Kairi giggled nervously, the girl beginning to back up as Roxas gave her the evil eye. "Uh, truce?" she said. However, she didn't think she was going to get out of it that easily, and she was right.

Roxas slipped his coat back on and smirked as he tugged at it. "You wish!" He heard Kairi shriek as he ran after her, at the same time bending down and grabbing snow. He rolled it into a ball and then chucked the snowball at Kairi, the boy seeking revenge.

 

Namine saw Sora coming out of the corner of her eye and she rose to her feet, her back against the tree as she slid along the tree trunk, keeping it between her and Sora. After a minute, though, she got a better idea. She ran around the tree and threw the snowball at Sora, a laugh leaving her lips as she performed the action.

Sora felt the snowball impact the back of his head and he spun around, seeing Namine standing two feet in front of him. "You asked for it!" he cried, pulling back his arm and throwing the snowball at her.

Namine squealed, turning around so that it impacted the back of her head. Little did she know, Sora's revenge was far from over.
