Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas nodded, tucking his hands into his coat pockets as he smiled slightly. "Sounds like a good idea to me," he agreed. If they did that, they could finish around the same time. That is, if he and Sora actually did this without any bickering of course.

 

After a few minutes of talking, Sora and Roxas got busy, working on their snowman as quickly as they could so that they could catch up to the girls. They were almost done now, though they didn't have a smooth ride along the way. "Why'd you make him so fat?" Sora asked, quick sticking stone eyes into the snowman's head as he gazed at Roxas, who had been working on the midsection.

 

Roxas gave Sora a look, peeking around the snowman to look at his friend. "Have you ever seen a skinny snowman?" he asked, answering the question with one of his own. He let his eyes then fall to the midsection as he patted it, making it smoother and rounder.

Kairi bit her lip as she started putting the pebbles into place on the snowman's head, making the cute smile. She focused and made sure that they weren't crooked, the redhead being a slight perfectionist. So far, things had gone well for her and Namine as far as working together. The boys were a different story. She had been amused by them as they built their snowmen, the two never failing to be humorous.

 

"His stomach is lumpy!" Sora said, abandoning the face and bending down a little, patting the stomach in an attempt to smooth things out. He was unaware that he left the eyes kind of crooked, the brunet too busy with the tummy area.

Namine put in one stick arm and then the other, taking a few steps back to see if they were set up at the same heights. They were, and that made the blond smile. Their snowman just needed a few more finishing touches, and then it would be complete.

 

Roxas rolled his eyes and stood up straight, putting one fist to his hip. "Quit complaining about my work. Look at yours!" He stepped over and messed with one of the arms. "You don't even have the right size stick on either side!"

Kairi stifled her chuckles at the boys' bickering as she set the last pebble into the smile, stepping back a little and looking at the face. Perfect. It looked cheery and all, just like how a snowman should be.

 

"It was the best I could find!" Sora exclaimed, abandoning the snowman in favor of his argument with Roxas. "Look at the snowballs; you were supposed to smooth them out, but they're bumpy all around!"

Namine shook her head softly, smiling in amusement. Those boys were hilarious, even when they weren't trying to be. Still, though, she looked to the snowman. It looked like it was missing something, and that was when she remembered the scarf around her neck. She took it off and stepped forward, gently wrapping it around the snowman.

 

"I was trying when you started whining!" Roxas countered, frowning at his best friend. They'd been doing this on and off for a little while now, and he was actually surprised they were even this far. They could barely focus on one task before the other moved to something else that needed to be done.

Kairi watched Namine in silence, trying to keep her focus on her work and not the boys a few yards away. She crossed her arms across her chest and over her coat, smiling a little. The finishing touches were pretty much done.

 

Namine finished with the scarf, stepping back and seeing their finished work. Perfect. She turned her head to the boys, a soft smile on her lips. "Time's up, boys!" she called, figuring that she spoke for Kairi as well when she implied their snowman was done.

Sora froze, turning his head to see Namine and Kairi a few yards away with a finished snowman. Time was up already?! That went by way too quickly.

 

Roxas's eyes widened as he looked over at the girls and then at his and Sora's snowman. What? They weren't even close to being done yet!

Kairi pressed her lips together to hide her laughter, wanting to release it at the boys' expressions. They obviously wasted too much time bickering back and forth.

 

Namine clasped her hands behind her back, a smile on her lips as she started over towards the boys. She tilted her head to the side slightly, looking at their unfinished snowman.

Sora's eyes were still wide, seeing Namine coming over towards him and Roxas. Their snowman wasn't good at all; it looked like something a could of elementary school children could do.

 

Roxas lifted his hand to his hair without thought, seeing Namine examine their snowman. He wasn't sure what to make out of her expression, but seeing the girls' snowman, he had a feeling they were going to lose this one.

Kairi stayed where she was, observing from a distance. She could tell by the Sora and Roxas's actions that they were a little surprised, and it probably regarded time being up. Oh well.

 

Namine walked around the snowman, seeing it at all angles. Alright; she had seen enough. "We should go over to mine and Kairi's now," she said softly. "You know, to all decide whose snowman is better." She knew that hers and Kairi's was the better one, but she didn't want to come across as rude or cocky. She started over, trusting that the boys would follow.

Sora followed after Namine, glancing at his and Roxas's snowman one last time. Even though they hadn't seen the girls' snowman up close, he knew that they won.

 

Roxas walked over to the girls' creation with Namine and Sora, not sure what to expect. He hadn't heard a peep out of the girls while they made their snowmen, so he wondered what all they had done.

Kairi looked from Roxas to Sora, her lips pressing together as she waited for the final turn-out. Even though the boys' expressions amused her, she wanted to focus. So, she did just that, her eyes moving from her boyfriend to her and Namine's snowman.

 

Namine stopped next to Kairi, turning her gaze towards the snowman. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of it; it had really turned out adorable. Kairi had done a great job with the face, while Namine had smoothed out everything else and taken care of the arms and scarf.

Sora stopped within a few feet of the snowman, closer than the girls. Yup, they won, he thought, confirming his earlier assumption. They had done a great job, but that wasn't a surprise to him.

 

Roxas stopped by Sora and looked at the snowman in front of him as well. He then turned his eyes to his teammate. He had a feeling that they just lost.

"So...have we come to a decision?" Kairi asked softly, looking from the blonde girl next to her to the boys. It didn't matter who won or lost; this was all for fun. Surely the boys realized that, since she could tell by their expressions that they were feeling a little doubt.

 

Sora glanced at Roxas, seeing the blond wearing an expression that said his thoughts. "We lose," he said, turning his head to look at the two girls. "You guys did a much better job than we did."

Namine smiled softly, lifting a hand and tucking back a strand of hair. "Our head start probably helped a lot," she said gently, trying to make the boys feel better. Even if it was just a game, she didn't want them feeling sorry over their loss.

 

Kairi nodded in agreement with Namine's statement, looking at the boys. They seemed disappointed, and she felt a little bad about it. But it was fair game, even if they did get a head start.

Roxas shrugged slightly. "You win some, you lose some," he said softly. Besides, he and Sora did kind of cheat earlier with the snowball fight. And, the girls didn't really need the advantage anyway; they probably would have won regardless of the head start.

 

"You guys would have won anyway," Sora said, bringing up a hand and running it over the back of his head. "You're better with the artsy stuff than we are." He and Roxas were better at more boyish stuff like arguing and acting tough, which they had shown in the past few minutes. He shrugged lightly, a sportsman-like smile on his lips.

 

"And you're better at racing and throwing us over your shoulders," Kairi told the boys gently, walking over toward Sora. She approached him and wrapped both of her arms around him from the side. "Snowball fights are a different story. I think we almost had you there." She giggled lightly, looking over to Namine then.

 

Namine giggled, a smile on her lips as she approached Roxas. "That's right, I think we did have them," she said, stopping beside Roxas and then looking to Kairi and then Sora. "Except somebody cheated and made all the snow off a tree branch fall on my head." She arched a brow at Sora, as if telling him to defend his decision.

Sora had lowered one arm to wrap around Kairi's form before he heard Namine's words. "Um..." he trailed off, bringing his free hand to the back of his head and running it over his spikes as his gaze fell to the ground. What could he say to that? He had been so into the fight that he had taken an opportunity that was actually a little unfair.
