Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas smiled slightly as he picked up his mug, leaning against the counter. "Thanks for joining us," he teased back, lifting his mug to his lips and drinking some of his hot chocolate.

 

Sora smiled back, looking around Roxas slightly to see Namine. "Thanks for the hot chocolate," he said with a smile. It was delicious and very refreshing after being in the snow for so long.

"Sure," Namine said, a smile forming on her lips as she lowered her mug to speak. "I always keep a ton on stock; I know it comes in handy during the winter." At this moment, she was grateful she had it, so she was sure her friends were feeling the same.

 

Roxas nodded in agreement. "Yeah. I remember how much we used it last year," he added. They made hot chocolate a lot when he came over, or when they were all together like this.

Kairi smiled slightly from where she sat, holding her mug with both hands as she leaned her elbows against the tabletop. She could see why they drank it so much; it warmed you up when it was so cold out, much like now.

 

Namine shrugged lightly, lowering her mug and looking at it. "Some people have coffee addictions, but I have a hot chocolate addiction," she said with a laugh. "I wonder which is healthier..." she trailed off, looking up at her three friends and then keeping her gaze on Roxas.

 

Roxas looked at Namine and shrugged slightly. "Don't look at me," he told her, a smile forming on his face. "You see what I eat." She should know, after all, since he came over and raided her fridge sometimes. And there was that time on Halloween, when he ate too much candy,

 

Namine laughed, realizing that what Roxas said was true. He wasn't a healthy eater himself, not that it really mattered since he was in such good shape. She smiled softly and lifted her mug to her lips, taking a few more sips of her favorite beverage.

 

Kairi let her eyes fall on Sora, the girl arching an eyebrow. The last time she checked, he and Roxas had the same eating habits. She couldn't remember the last time he invaded her kitchen, mostly because whenever the boys got too hungry, they were always over here at Namine's.

 

Sora felt a gaze on him and he looked over at the red-haired girl he loved. "What?!" he cried defensively, seeing the look that she was giving him. He figured it out pretty quickly though; she was giving him a look that said, you're not a healthy eater either.

 

"Oh nothing," Kairi sang, her gaze moving in the opposite direction as she took a sip of her beverage. After a few seconds, though, she looked back at Sora, trying to hide her smile behind her mug.

Roxas looked away from Namine and to the other couple, furrowing his eyebrows slightly in confusion. Wait...what?

 

"What was that look for?" Sora asked, arching an eyebrow as he looked at Kairi. She wasn't going to get out of this that easily; he was going to hound her until she said exactly what she had been thinking.

 

Kairi lowered her mug and looked at Sora, giving him a look. However, there was still a glint of humor in her eyes. "For what happened to my last batch of brownies," she quipped. He had eaten most of them, with the help of Roxas. At the thought, the girl looked to Roxas as well.

Roxas's eyes widened a little and he shook his head. "Don't look at me! That was mostly Sora's fault!" he said, jerking his thumb toward the brunet standing near him, his mug in the other hand.

 

Sora rolled his eyes, setting his almost-empty mug on the counter. "Oh please!" he said, turning to look at Roxas. "You were the one who convinced me to break through the kitchen window to get to them before she noticed!" The two boys had climbed in from the outside, eaten have the brownies, and then tried to escape. However, Kairi had caught them in their tracks.

 

"But it's your fault you listened!" Roxas countered, his eyes on Sora now. That had been an interesting day, especially their punishment. That was the only downside to the day.

Kairi fought the urge to laugh, keeping up the act as she continued giving the boys the look. It was one that let them know she wasn't happy about the situation, even if she had forgiven them.

 

"And because you tempted me," Sora continued, ignoring Roxas, "we had to clean up the whole basement!" It had taken hours to finish the chore, but in the end, he did think that it was worth it. Of course, he had never confessed that aloud.

 

Roxas rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he looked away. "I still don't think it's my fault," he muttered, even if he had encouraged it. But the brownies, to him, were worth the punishment; they were pretty tasty.

 

Namine smiled stepping into the conversation for the first time. "Sneaking in through a window, Roxas?" she asked, arching her brow and giving him a look. She knew Kairi's brownies were good, but she couldn't believe Roxas had come up with the idea to climb in through the kitchen window.

 

Roxas turned his head slightly to look at Namine, the boy then letting his eyes move to the redhead. He saw Kairi lift an eyebrow at him, obviously waiting for the answer too. He sighed, hanging his head slightly before he went into the explanation. "Well it wasn't like she was going to let us have any!" he said, looking at Namine and then his other two friends. "Not unless we earned it."

 

"Yeah, well, I'm just glad neither of you knew that I was baking brownies yesterday," Namine said with a smile, lifting up her mug and drinking some more hot chocolate to hide the small smile that had appeared on her lips.

Sora's eyes widened, the brunet lowering his mug to the counter once again when he heard what Namine said. She had made brownies?!

 

Roxas's eyes immediately found Namine, widening in surprise. "What?" he said. She made brownies, and she didn't tell them? The blond was a little disappointed that she hadn't at least told him.

Kairi lifted her mug. "Shouldn't have said that," she muttered, bringing her drink to her lips. Namine was in for trouble now. If those boys were hungry, they would look everywhere for those brownies.

 

Namine lowered her mug from her lips, though she kept it higher up to hide her smile. She stifled a giggle, knowing that she would be hounded by the boys for a while. It was alright, though; she had made them in case she had company over within the next few days like she did now.

"They're here somewhere, aren't they?" Sora asked, looking to the girl who wouldn't look up at him or Roxas. They had to be near...they were in a kitchen. Where else would she keep brownies?
