Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas turned his head to look at Sora, a glint in his eyes. It was true he was having chocolate now because of his beverage, but the brownies sounded awfully good. Time to look for the brownies? He thought so.

 

Sora looked to Roxas and nodded once, seeing a familiar glint in his friend's eyes. "You look over there," he said, pointing to the other side of the room. "I'm looking over here." He spun around and started opening cabinets, looking for places where she could have hidden the brownies.

 

Roxas didn't hesitate crossing the room and opening the fridge. It was full of food, but he knew there had to be brownies here somewhere.

Kairi looked at Sora and Roxas in disbelief, her lips parting in surprise. "You guys!" she said, ending with a laugh. They were seriously that determined to get brownies now?

 

"Boys!" Namine scolded, though her voice showed her amusement. They were crazy, but little did they know, she had set out the plate of brownies in the living room. Oh well; she'd let them look for a while longer.

Sora kept looking, though he didn't have any success. Where were those brownies?! He would find them, even if it took him a few minutes.

 

Roxas moved some stuff around in Namine's fridge, but didn't see any sign of the brownies. He looked over his shoulder in Sora's direction, completely ignoring the scolding Namine and Kairi were yelling at them. "Find anything?" he asked his friend.

 

"Nothing," Sora said, shutting another cabinet. He was out of places to look now, and he didn't see any sign of the brownies. He glanced at Roxas by the fridge, wondering if he had any better luck. "You?"

 

Roxas shook his head, leaning up. "Nope," he said, shutting the fridge door. He turned, eyes glancing around the room for any sign of the chocolate treats. His eyes then widened as he remembered something. "Oh, the pantry!" He immediately darted to the small closet-like place in the kitchen, opening the doors and beginning to search.

Kairi stifled her laughter, thinking the boys' persistence was amusing. It was official; they would look in every corner of this house for the brownies.

 

Namine took a few steps over to Kairi, leaning down slightly to whisper in her friend's ear. "They're in the living room," she whispered very softly, aware that the boys had excellent hearing. However, she doubted that they heard it over their own clamor.

"They have to be in there," Sora said, turning to follow Roxas with his eyes. It was the last place that they would be in the kitchen, so he hoped his friend found them there.

 

Kairi giggled slightly at the words, looking up at Namine. Her eyes then landed on the boys and she covered her mouth, once again trying to suppress her laughter. The living room was the last place she would have guessed, so the boys probably had no idea.

Roxas turned around sharply when he heard Kairi's laughter, his eyes immediately falling on the redhead. He furrowed his eyebrows at her, standing still for a few seconds to see if she would say or do anything. When she simply stared back at him, he resumed his search for the brownies.

 

Namine smirked, lifting a hand to hide that smile. She had set them out there for them all to munch on later, which proved to be convenient now. Watching the boys search her kitchen was amusing, and she wasn't going to bring it to an end right away.

 

Roxas continued searching for another minute, pushing things aside in the pantry and lifting items to try and find the dessert he was looking for. But he came up empty. "You've got to be kidding me," he said, hands now at his sides.

 

"They're not there?" Sora asked, though he already knew the answer to that. If Roxas stopped searching, then they obviously weren't present in the pantry. But where else would they be? He glanced at Namine, wondering if Roxas could extract the information from her.

 

"Nope," Roxas said, answering Sora as he turned his head to look at his friend. He then followed Sora's gaze, turning around a little more to see Namine. He narrowed his eyes slightly in suspicion, about to speak what was on his mind. "You hid them from us, didn't you?" he stated. There was no sign of them at all in this kitchen, so she must have.

 

Namine glanced up at Roxas, lowering her hand to her side before she looked down to the ground. "No, not really," she said honestly, trying to hide her amusement. She had actually set them out in a place they would be seen, but that was a separate room.

 

Roxas arched an eyebrow at Namine and then looked to Sora. Okay, so she hadn't hidden the brownies. But where else could they be? The kitchen was the most logical place, wasn't it?

Kairi kept her hand over her mouth that way she wouldn't laugh. This was just too amusing!

 

"You sure you looked everywhere?" Namine asked with a light shrug before she gave Kairi a brief look that said, go and hide the cookies! She hoped neither of the boys noticed, because she looked back up at Roxas right after that look.

 

Roxas let his eyes fall on Namine again, the same confused look on his face. "...Did you hide them in your room?" he asked, his voice showing that he was a little unsure. He would have assumed the kitchen to be the place to keep them, but then again, if Namine wanted to really keep them from him and Sora, she probably put them in her room.

Kairi saw the look, but didn't respond in fear of giving away Namine's idea. If the boys left the room, then Kairi could freely move to the living room and grab them.

 

"My room?" Namine repeated, arching a brow. "Nope." If she had kept them in there, she would have been snacking on them before she went to sleep. That would have been very unhealthy, which was why she kept them out of the room.

 

Roxas only continued to give Namine the same look. Okay, so that idea was out. He brought a hand to his head as he lowered his sight to the floor. A place for brownies to sit out... "The dining room?" he asked, lifting his eyes then.

Kairi pushed herself up from her seat, glancing at Namine and then at the boys. She had finished her hot chocolate, so she took the mug over to the sink in silence. She had to get to those brownies before the boys did.

 

Namine clasped her hands behind her back, lowering her gaze to the floor. That would be a logical place for them to be, and since that room was connected to the kitchen, Kairi could make her escape and hide the brownies. She would let the boys believe that Roxas had figured it out.

"They're in there all right. Look at her face!" Sora said, then walking past Namine and Roxas and into the dining room. He hurried in and looked around, hoping to find them right away.
