Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi watched the show on the screen, contently sitting next to Sora. Over the past few minutes she had glanced at Namine to make sure she was alright, and she thought that her friend was getting better now that she wasn't on her feet. That was good; Kairi didn't want anymore problems for her.

 

Namine looked over at Roxas, realizing that he hadn't eaten any brownies yet. "You want some brownies?" she asked quietly, glancing at the snack on the table. They had been a big deal to him earlier, and she wasn't sure why he wasn't eating any now.

 

Roxas looked down at the coffee table, seeing the plate of brownies. He had completely forgotten they were there. "Oh. Sure," he said, leaning forward and picking one off the plate. He was happy to see that Sora was nice enough to leave some for him; he figured he would have eaten them all.

 

Namine leaned her head against the back of the couch, tilting it to the head slightly as she watched the television. The program was interesting enough, though it wasn't holding her attention completely. She was aware that her friends were sneaking looks at her, but they weren't too sneaky about it. She could tell they were concerned, and she felt bad for randomly getting dizzy.

 

"Thanks for leaving some for the rest of us," Roxas said, glancing over at Sora before taking a bite of the brownie in his hand. Of course, it tasted great. "I was kinda surprised there were some left over." His voice was a little muffled due to the food in his mouth, but it was understandable.

 

Sora looked over at Roxas, arching a brow at his friend's comment. "What, you didn't think I would save you any?" he asked, his tone sounding as if he were slightly offended. Of course, it was obvious to his friends that he was joking; he did have a habit of eating any food in his sight.

 

Roxas shook his head. "Nope," he answered honestly, putting the rest of the brownie into his mouth. Sora had been going at it earlier, and some of it had been in spite because Roxas was busy tending to Namine. Of course, he didn't mind; he wanted to make sure she was okay first.

 

Sora blinked, not sure how to respond to that. He smiled awkwardly, bringing a hand to the back of his head and running it over his spikes. "I guess I do normally devour any food in my sight," he said, knowing how hungry he always was.

 

Kairi smiled softly, looking at her boyfriend. "You both do sometimes. I remember when you guys cleaned out Namine's fridge in a day," she said, then switching her gaze to the blonde girl. "She asked me to go grocery shopping with her the next day." Of course, the food was gone in just about a week.

 

Namine laughed softly, shifting her gaze to Kairi. "And then they came back a few days later looking for more food," she said, shifting her gaze from Sora to Roxas when she was done speaking. They ate a lot of food, but they often came to Namine's house because, according to them, she had the best food.

 

Roxas paused mid-bite, his eyes moving to Namine. "Hey, I can't help my appetite," he claimed. He then proceeded to bite into his brownie, chewing on the chocolatey goodness.

 

Namine kept her eyes on Roxas, her eyes become a little more stern but still showing that she was amused by his eating habits. "But you could raid somebody else's fridge," she pointed out, glancing at Sora and Kairi before she looked back to her boyfriend.

 

Roxas looked to Namine, chewing on his brownie. When he swallowed, he glanced at the couple on the loveseat. "Well, Kairi makes us work for treats, and Sora hardly ever has enough food for both of us...mostly because he eats all of it himself," he said. He then turned his gaze back to Namine. "But you always have enough food and never make us work for anything...sometimes. Plus, you love me." Roxas grinned at her before stuffing the rest of the brownie in his mouth.

 

Namine shook her head in disbelief, though a smile had formed on her lips by the time Roxas was finished. "Yes, I love you," she said with a sigh. "But maybe this is one of those incidents where I'll put you two to work..." she said, trailing off and arching a brow at her boyfriend. She had an idea of what she could make the boys do, since they had eaten the majority of the brownies.

 

Roxas's eyes widened slightly, and he turned his gaze to Sora. What? She was going to make them work now, too? Did she talk to Kairi or something? the blond boy thought, wondering what it is they could possibly have to do around here.

Kairi lifted her eyebrows in interest. Did Namine have something in mind? She vaguely wondered if it was going to be worse than cleaning her basement.

 

Sora's eyes widened as well, the brunet meeting Roxas's gaze. Uh-oh...maybe I shouldn't have taken so many brownies...he thought, figuring that his appetite was the reason he would be put to work now.

Namine felt a smile widen on her lips, the girl glancing at Sora before she looked back to Roxas. "Since you two can never stop eating, it only seems fitting that you would prepare a meal for once," she said, knowing that Roxas could at least make spaghetti. She turned her head to look at the redhead on the couch, trying to get support. "Right, Kairi?"

 

Roxas's eyes darted back to Namine immediately. He had to cook? He and Sora had to cook? They could barely build a snowman together! How well did Namine actually think them working in a kitchen would go?

Kairi tilted her head slightly, looking up at the ceiling as she thought about it. "It sounds like a good idea to me," she said after a moment, lowering her eyes to Namine and then to Sora. "I'd like to see what you guys come up with."

 

Sora swallowed, turning to look at the girl beside him. What?! How was this possibly a good idea? He and Roxas didn't work well together, and neither of them were good cooks in the first place.

"And while you two work on that, Kairi and I will relax out here," Namine said with a smile, looking from her friends to her boyfriend. "You know how to cook some things, so you'll be fine." And besides, she and Kairi would be two rooms away, so it wasn't likely they would cause too much destruction.

 

Roxas arched an eyebrow, his gaze switching to Sora once more. She was serious? Namine and Kairi actually thought this would go over well? Roxas wasn't sure what to make of the idea, but he knew now that he was being ordered to cook.

Kairi smiled softly at Sora. "You guys will do fine," she assured him and Roxas. She turned her gaze to the blond boy. "If you have to, resort to that recipe I gave you a little while ago, Roxas. From what I heard, it went well last time." Kairi's eyes briefly moved to Namine, her smile growing some before her focus went back to the boys.

 

Sora had no idea what Kairi was talking about, but he didn't ask any questions. "You guys sure this is a good idea?" he asked hesitantly, though he knew that the girls weren't going to change their minds. He and Roxas would have to work together to make something not only edible, but tasty.

"Yup," Namine said with a nod. Things couldn't go too disastrous when the girls were so close, and besides, Roxas had made a delicious meal before. Surely he could do it again, and with Sora's help.
