Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas took a step forward, holding his hand out for the item when Namine stepped back, whatever it was. "Hand it over," he said, though he had a feeling she wouldn't comply. If she was keeping it from them, it was obviously of some importance to her.

 

Namine immediately shook her head, keeping the item behind her back. She turned her head towards Kairi right after that, her bright blue eyes finding her best friend's. "Kairi, come on!" she said suddenly, starting off towards her room before the boys could stop her.

Sora saw Namine hold the item in front of her when she started running, and he immediately knew what it was. "Video camera?!" he cried, surprise in his voice. She had caught him and Roxas on tape?!

 

Kairi didn't hesitate following Namine, sprinting after her friend instantly. She heard Sora's exclamation as she ran down the hall, but she didn't turn back. She had a feeling they weren't getting out of this so easily.

Roxas's eyes widened, his sight darting to Sora once the girls disappeared behind the wall. "What?" he said in disbelief. He then shook his head. Nuh-uh. She did not just catch him on tape...in an apron. Roxas took a few quick steps forward before he also broke into a run, going after the two. "Namine!" he yelled, his voice echoing as he passed Sora.

 

Namine saw Ty up ahead and she spoke to him as she passed by, the video camera still in her hands. "Go get Roxas!" she told Ty, passing by him and running into her bedroom. She turned around when she was in, hoping Kairi would shut the door quickly and lock it.

Sora followed behind Roxas, the brunet grunting when he saw Ty making a charge for him and Roxas. That dog was loyal to his master, as always. Unfortunately, that wasn't going to benefit the boys right now; they had to get to the girls!

 

Kairi ran in behind Namine quickly and shut the door, locking it immediately. She then tucked her hair behind her ear, sighing in a little relief. The boys couldn't reach them, for now.

Roxas continued running, despite the fact that Ty was coming at him and Sora, who he could sense was right on his heels. Ty ran straight for Roxas, since he was ahead, and the boy had to jump to the side to avoid being knocked over. His shoulder hit the wall, making a dull thump.

 

Namine looked to the camera, making sure that she had turned it off when she was running. She had, so she was clear to do what she did next. She slipped out the memory card, holding it out for Kairi. "Take this," she said. She would hold onto the camera itself in an effort to fool the boys.

Sora grunted, feeling the dog topple him and force him to the ground. He landed on his back, looking up at the pooch who was standing over him. "Not cool, Ty!" he cried, though the dog didn't understand his eagerness to get up.

 

Kairi took the memory card, at the same time hearing the commotion going on out in the hall. She looked back at the door as she slipped the small item into her pocket. Obviously Ty had done his job.

Roxas stopped where he was against the wall, rubbing his shoulder slightly as he looked down at Sora. Ty certainly never let Namine down, even against her friends. "Come on, boy. Get off," he instructed, quickly stepping over to Sora's form and nudging the pooch off him. It was obvious to Roxas that the girls were in Namine's room; there wasn't anywhere else for them to hide in the hall. And it was the only door closed. He figured that since they were locked inside, this wouldn't really slow them down.

 

Sora sat himself up, though Ty kept trying to keep him down. "Ty, enough!" he protested, shaking his head. "Go eat some of the bread in the kitchen!" That would keep the dog busy enough for the two boys to track down the girls and take the camera.

Namine went to the closet after that, setting the camera on the bed. She pulled out two coats and a pair of boots for Kairi, the blond having sneakers she would wear instead since her second pair of boots were in the entrance hall. "Put this stuff on," she said to Kairi, already working on her own coat. "I have a plan."

 

Kairi looked at the boots and coat after approaching Namine's closet to grab them. "We're sneaking out?" she asked, assuming that because of the outerwear. She put it on anyway, not seeing any other way of getting away from the boys.

Roxas turned his head to glance over his shoulder in the direction of Namine's bedroom, already wondering how they were going to get a hold of that camera. There was no way she was showing that to anybody. Ever.

 

"Through the window," Namine confirmed, tying her sneakers now. When that was done, she pulled a bag out of the closet, a small backpack she owned. She went over to the bed and put the camera in that before she put the bag on her back.

Sora stood up, Ty moving out of his way after a few seconds. He looked to Roxas, the question written on his face. Alright, so what're we supposed to do now?

 

Kairi pulled on the coat after she put on the boots, looking at Namine before glancing back at the door. The boys would have no idea. Perfect. "Okay," she said, turning her eyes back to Namine as she smiled slightly, ready to go.

Roxas's eyes trailed Ty as he trotted off, the boy then looking up at Sora. Recognizing his look, the blond gazed down the hallway at Namine's door. He was determined not to let her keep that tape; not even a door was going to stop him. Roxas turned back to Sora and motioned with his hand. "Follow me," he said, starting further down the hall to Namine's room.

 

Namine went over to the window, opening it up widely so that Kairi could go out first. "You first; I know how to shut it from the outside." She had sneaked out on Roxas before, and she hoped he wouldn't think of where she would possibly go now. She was taking Kairi to the same place she had gone herself: the treehouse.

Sora nodded, following behind Roxas. No matter what happened, they had to get their hands on that camera. "Oh, uh, Roxas," Sora said, lifting a finger and pointing at the apron his friend was still wearing.

 

Kairi nodded. "Alright," she said, approaching the window. She carefully and quietly climbed out, one foot first before maneuvering and landing in the snow on both feet.

Roxas turned around, his walk coming to a halt a few feet from Namines' door. He looked down at himself, where Sora was pointing, and then remembered that he had the apron on. Right. He untied it and pulled it over his head, tossing it on the floor. "Stupid thing," he muttered, his eyes lingering on it before he walked the few feet to Namine's door. Roxas knew that it was one of the reasons that tape was going to be so humilating.

 

Namine set her hand on the windowsill, carefully lowering one leg out the window before she got her other out as well, the girl landing safely in the snow outside her window. Then she reached up, pulling the glass window shut and then doing the same with the screen.

 

Roxas approached Namine's door and knocked on it. "Namine," he called, staring down at the floor. He waited, but was only greeted with silence. He knocked again. "Kairi. Open the door, you two," he said. "Ty didn't stop us completely." He just stalled them for the girls, obviously. It worked, but they weren't giving up.

 

Namine led the way, walking through a little bit of snow as she trusted Kairi to follow. She was jogging because she knew that Roxas would eventually figure out what happened, though she hoped that would happen later rather than sooner. They needed just enough time to get to the treehouse and pull up the ladder.

 

"Namine, come on," Roxas said after another few seconds of silence. He reached for the handle, turning it only to discover what he already guessed: it was locked. Of course. The boy sighed, not knowing how to get the door open.

 

"They're awfully quiet," Sora said, observing that he hadn't heard a peep from them the whole time. He would have thought they would be giggling at least a little bit, since things were humorous in their view.

 

Kairi followed Namine, keeping up with her pace. She glanced over her shoulder at Namine's window, not seeing any sign of the boys at a glimpse. She turned her head forward again, jogging through the snow behind her best friend.

Roxas turned his head to look at Sora, realization crossing his features at the mention. He was right; they were being incredibly quiet. He figured they would have yelled retorts of some kind at him, but he hadn't received anything. He leaned his ear against the door, listening for any sounds of movement or whispers.

 

Namine turned around the corner of the house, her backyard immediately in sight. She smiled faintly at the sight of the snow-covered garden, the blond heading in that direction. They were close to the treehouse; they could make it!
