Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas kept his hand out. "Let me see," he said, furrowing his eyebrows slightly to fight off what Namine was doing. "Mighthave" wasn't good enough for him; he needed to see it himself.

 

Namine lowered her gaze to the ground, not making any move to give Roxas the backpack. "You really don't believe me, huh?" she asked softly, mock-sadness in her voice. She looked back up at Roxas, biting her lip lightly as she gazed at him.

 

Roxas closed his eyes, exhaling a breath as he dropped his hand. "Stop it," he muttered, though he was sure Namine could hear. This was not supposed to go this way. He was caught on camera in an apron and chopping vegetables. He was not letting this get loose.

 

Namine tilted her head to the side slightly, bending over and trying to get a better look at Roxas's face. "Stop what?" she asked innocently, though she knew exactly what she was doing.

 

Roxas didn't open his eyes, knowing exactly what he would see. He shook his head and held out his hand one more time. "Backpack," he told Namine. Now, he thought. He wanted that camera, pronto.

 

Namine realized that Roxas wouldn't open his eyes, but that wasn't about to stop her. She lightly lifted a hand, setting it on Roxas's cheek as she bent over slightly to see his face. "What did you want me to stop doing?" she asked softly, a small, cute smile on her lips as she gazed at him.

 

Roxas opened his eyes at the touch, instantly seeing the expression on Namine's face. Namine, he mentally whined, lowering his eyes to the side and staring at the snow. "That," he said simply, lifting his open hand to her wrist near his cheek.

 

Namine kept her hand on his cheek, tilting her head a little more when he looked away. "What am I doing?" she asked innocently, blinking her eyes two times as she gazed at him.

 

"Being cute," Roxas mumbled, gently pulling her hand down from his face. He refused to lift his gaze, knowing what Namine's face would do to him. It was a weakness he had, that look on her face. He just wanted the tape; then she could be as cute as she wanted and he'd give her all the attention she deserved.

 

"Mmm?" Namine hummed, keeping her gaze on Roxas despite the fact that he wouldn't look at her. "What do you mean?" She would act as oblivious as she could, as long as Roxas gave up at the end and left the tape alone.

 

Roxas sighed softly and glanced at Namine, but he regretted it immediately. He forced himself to close his eyes. No, he would not give in. "Namine," he murmured, whining a little. This wasn't fair.

 

Namine bit her lip lightly, continuing to look at Roxas. She knew she was getting to him, and that only encouraged her to keep going. "What?" she asked softly, having heard him murmur her name.

 

Roxas opened his eyes and forced his expression not to falter under Namine's gaze. He lifted his free hand and gripped one of the straps over her shoulders. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way," he told her, wishing she would stop making that face at him. "Right now, you're leaning towards the hard way."

 

Namine glanced at Roxas's hand holding the strap, but she wasn't about to give up. "Why won't you answer any of my questions?" she asked, sticking out her lower lip a little bit as she gazed at Roxas with her puppy-dog eyes.

 

Because talking about how cute you are right now is making this difficult, Roxas thought silently. However, he spoke differently. "I'll answer any question you have if you hand over the bag," he said clearly. He knew the camera was in there; it had to be.

 

Namine kept her lip out, not ready to give in just yet. "Why not answer them now?" she asked, blinking innocently while keeping her facial expression as soft and cute as ever.

 

Roxas blinked and felt his gaze soften at the expression his girlfriend's delicate features held. Still so cute... "Because I know that camera is in the backpack," he said, fighting the effects of Namine's look. "You taped me in an apron. Can't you spare me a little embarrassment?"

 

Namine tilted her head to the side a little bit, focusing in on Roxas's last question. "A little embarrassment?" she asked. "You mean there are other things that have embarrassed you?" His question had implied that he had been humiliated by something else, and Namine asked about that so that the focus could be taken off the camera and the video.

 

Roxas briefly glanced up at the tree house, where Sora was with Kairi. "Sora had a pretty humiliating picture of me on his phone once," the blond said, turning his gaze back to his girlfriend. The memory temporarily covered his urge to crumble under Namine's gaze, the boy's eyebrows furrowed as he remembered the embarrassment he felt.

 

"Are you afraid I'd use something against you?" Namine asked, her eyes softening at the embarrassment in Roxas's eyes. "I'd never do that..." she said, bringing up her free hand and setting it lightly on Roxas's cheek.
