Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi nodded slightly in agreement. "Namine'sright. You guys would do fine," she said, her eyes lingering on Roxas before turning to Sora. She had faith in them; after all, practice did make perfect.

 

Namine nodded, hearing Kairi's encouragement for the boys. "It's so easy that I wouldn't hesitate to send you two in the kitchen right now to make some brownies," she said, looking at Roxas with a smile before she turned her head to look at Sora, whose eyes had widened.

"You're making us do more work?!" Sora asked, afraid of going back into the kitchen with Roxas. After all their bickering earlier, and the bread, he didn't want to do any more cooking or baking.

Namine laughed softly, shaking her head. "No, not tonight. Some other time," she assured him. Both of the boys were probably tired from making the meal earlier, and besides, Namine at least wanted to spend some time with her two best guy friends. She was sure that Kairi felt the same way, too.

 

"Phew!" Roxas sighed in relief, shaking his head. "I didn't even want to think about that again." He wanted to stay away from the kitchen for a while. Well, maybe not completely. Just the cooking part.

Kairi smiled slightly. The two were typical guys, fearing the kitchen and baking. Oh well. Kairi didn't really mind making them treats sometimes. She was sure Namine felt the same.

 

Namine turned to look back at Roxas, her soft smile staying on her lips as she gazed up at him. "I'd say you two deserve some relaxation time too, since Kairi and I got ours in earlier," she said, recalling that she and her best friend had sat on the couches while the boys were making dinner. Well, they had been on the couches some of the time. Regardless, that time had been relaxing.

 

Roxas smiled slightly and nodded once. "You bet. What do you suggest?" he asked, wondering what they could all do that wouldn't require so much energy. Cooking, bickering, and chasing after the girls had made the day kind of tiring; he didn't mind sitting around.

 

"We could pop in a movie or something," Namine suggested. It had been a while since all of that had sat down and watched a film together. This realization made Namine recall the last movie they had all seen together, Sora's next words reminding her further.

"A scary movie?" Sora asked jokingly, a slight smirk appearing on his lips as he made his suggestion. That was the last thing they had all seen together, and as he recalled, that hadn't gone over too well with the girls. Obviously they wouldn't watch anything terrifying tonight when things were so lighthearted already.

 

Roxas's eyes darted to Sora, a light smirk appearing on his lips at the mention. He remembered that, and how the girls were terrified throughout the movie. He couldn't remember if he and Sora had to stay the night or not, but it could have happened.

Kairi looked at Sora and shook her head. "No scary movies, please," she said. "I can't handle that again." The last one had been horrifying. She didn't want to go through that another time.

 

Sora chuckled lightly, offering Kairi a small smile as he looked down at her. He wasn't seriously considering a scary movie; he had just said it because it came to mind.

Namine shook her head, looking over at Kairi reassuringly. "It's not like I own any scary movies anyway," she said. She hated those things, so she would never keep any in her own home. It was bad enough whenever the boys forced her and Kairi into watching one at either of their homes.

 

Kairi tore her eyes away from Sora's ocean-blue and looked to Namine, smiling slightly. "That's good," she said softly. She really hated scary movies, and the boys knew that. Of course, they loved them, and sometimes she and Namine gave in to watch them for the Sora and Roxas. However, she still prefered that she watched comedies or action movies instead.

 

Sora looked away from the girls, seeing Roxas sitting on the armrest. "Since we can't force them into a scary movie, what should we watch?" he asked, his question hanging in the air for anybody to answer. He hoped Namine didn't only have chick flicks...

 

Roxas shrugged slightly, looking toward Namine's television and the DVD's nearby. The mood was pretty lighthearted for the moment, so he said the genre that went best. "Comedy?" he asked, looking back at his friends.

 

"Yeah, sounds good," Namine said, nodding. She trusted her friends to pick out which one they wanted to see; the blond had already seen all the movies in her home, and she thought most of them were pretty good.

Sora nodded as well, agreeing. Comedy was much better than watching a chick-flick, so he would go with that genre. Besides, he had always enjoyed funny movies.

 

When Roxas saw Kairi nod in agreement with his other two friends, he got off the arm of the couch and stalked over to the entertainment system. He bent down and looked over the movies. "What do you want to watch?" he asked. They all knew the movies Namine had, even if they hadn't seen them all.

Kairi shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me," she said. "Whatever you guys want to watch." As long as they weren't watching a scary movie, she was fine with anything.

 

"You pick," Sora told Roxas. "It doesn't matter to me." He didn't know what movies Namine had anyway, so it wouldn't do him much good to randomly names movies he would like to see if they weren't in the location Roxas was looking through.

Namine pushed herself up off the couch, grabbing the empty plate. "While you guys pick, I'm going to clean up dinner," she told them. She wouldn't really need help; it would only be a few minutes. She started out of the room, wanting to get it done before the movie started.

 

Roxas furrowed his eyebrows slightly, trying to figure out what to watch. "Hmm," he hummed, looking through the movies Namine had on the shelf. Some of these movies he hadn't seen, like one he pulled out. "How about 'The Invention of Lying'?" he asked, turning around to look at Sora and Kairi.

Kairi tilted her head to the side. "Never heard of it," she said. Of course, that meant she hadn't seen it. She could possibly enjoy it.

 

Sora folded his arms, looking at the case that Roxas held. "I've heard of it," he said. "I've never seen it, though. You think it's any good?" He didn't know if Roxas had seen it or not, but the brunet had been wanting to see it for a while.

 

Roxas shrugged as he shook his head. "I've never seen it either," he said then. He looked down at the movie's case and scanned the back. "It looks like it's worth a shot." The summary made it sound pretty good, so he wouldn't mind watching.

 

Sora sat down on the couch beside Kairi, one of his arms going around her shoulders once he was seated. "Alright, then pop it in," he said, giving Roxas a nod of approval. He was curious to see if this movie was actually good or not, since he remembered seeing previews for it a long time ago.

 

Roxas nodded slightly and moved over to the DVD player. He set the disk in and turned on the television by pushing the button. He grabbed the remote to the DVD player and then made his way back to his friends. He sat down on the floor in front of the couch, considering it had the best view, and allowing Namine to have the seat left over on the furniture.

 

Sora ran his hand over Kairi's shoulder without thought, the brunet looking at the screen expectantly. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie, he thought, a little sad by the realization. He didn't think he had seen one since he got home from the mission, which meant that the last movie he saw was over four and a half months ago.
