Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi nodded slightly. "Mhm," she hummed, turning a little more so she could see Sora better. "How about you?" She remembered being worried about his comfort last night, so she was curious as to how it was this morning.

 

"Good," Sora said with a nod, referring to his slumber. Thankfully, his neck didn't hurt from the upright position he had slept in. He supposed that he had fallen asleep upright quite often during his four months away, so he was used to it.

 

"Good," Kairi said with a slight nod. At least he hadn't been that uncomfortable through the night. She would have felt bad if that was the case.

 

"Mmhmm," Sora hummed automatically, his voice still softer than usual because Namine was asleep in Roxas's arms. He was a little surprised that she was the last one to wake up; during the movie, she had been the first one to fall asleep.

 

"Is anyone else up?" Kairi asked quietly, matching Sora's tone of voice. If he was speaking so softly in the first place, she had a feeling the answer would be a no, but she couldn't know for sure.

 

"Roxas is," Sora responded softly, keeping his eyes on the girl laying with her head on top of a pillow in his lap. Roxas had woken up maybe ten minutes ago, but he hadn't gotten up from his position except to stretch and then sit back down and hold Namine closer to him.

 

Kairi rolled back on her side and looked in the direction of where the blond couple was the night before. Her eyes fell on Roxas, who still looked a little groggy, but was slowly waking up.

Roxas heard his name and when he looked over, he saw Kairi staring at him. He offered her a small wave, smiling faintly. He had heard bits and pieces of the other couple's conversation, but his main focus had been on the basketball game or Namine, who was still sleeping against him.

 

When Kairi turned her head to face Roxas, Sora turned his attention back to the screen, watching the game. He wasn't too into it; he had been away for four months, so he had no idea what was going on in the world of sports.

 

Kairi lightly waved back to the blond boy, her eyes then falling on Namine. She was still sleeping? Kairi wasn't sure what time it was, but somehow she didn't find it entirely surprising that Namine was still asleep. Everybody had a big day yesterday.

 

Sora shifted his gaze to a clock on the wall, seeing that it was a little before 9:30. They had all slept for a long time, but he wasn't going to complain; he felt very well rested after sleeping through the whole night with Kairi near him.

 

Once Kairi looked away from him, Roxas glanced down at the girl beside him. He gently pulled her a little closer to him as she slept, his other hand resting on hers that had fallen to her lap. He lightly rubbed over the fabric covering her shoulder, hoping she was having a peaceful sleep. So far, she hadn't stirred, so Roxas felt that was a good sign.

 

Namine exhaled a soft breath, stirring a little bit when she felt the movement. However, she fell right back asleep again, the gentleness of Roxas's embrace encouraging her to keep sleeping.

 

Roxas felt a soft smile appear on his lips as he looked at Namine. He leaned his head down and lightly kissed the top of hers before moving his sight to the television screen, watching the game once more.

Kairi lay her head down on the pillow once more, her eyes trained on the television screen. She knew the basics of basketball, though she wasn't as into it as the boys were.

 

Sora lightly ran his hand over Kairi's arm one time, the brunet looking down at her again when she focused on the television. "Do you mind if I stand up and stretch?" he asked softly. He was pretty stiff, and he would feel much better after stretching out.

 

Kairi turned her head to glance at Sora. "No, go ahead," she insisted, starting to sit up so she wouldn't be lying on Sora's lap anymore. She should have figured he'd want to do such a thing.

 

Sora brought his hand off Kairi's arm when she moved, the brunet setting it on the couch while using his other hand to move the pillow to the side. He pushed himself up and lifted his arms, shutting his eyes as he stretched out his stiff muscles.

 

Kairi ran a hand through her hair without thought, then turning to let her feet rest on the ground. She leaned back into the couch and glanced up at Sora, seeing him stretch, before her eyes drifted back to the television.

 

Sora exhaled a long breath, lowering his arms back to his sides when he felt fully stretched. He did, however, feel hungry now that he was on his feet. He turned his head to Roxas, seeing him holding his girlfriend. "You think Namine'll care if I raid her kitchen?" he asked softly. He wouldn't take much--just enough to give him enough energy so that he could go to his own home later and empty his fridge instead of Namine's.

 

Roxas looked to Sora at the question, seeing that he was talking to him. The boy shrugged slightly, not wanting to disturb Namine's rest. "Probably not. That is, if there's anything left," he joked softly, since the girl was sleeping right next to him. He and Sora may have eaten most of her food yesterday, but he was pretty sure there was something Sora could eat. Roxas was hungry himself, but he wasn't about to get up.

 

Sora chuckled softly, realizing that Roxas had a point. "You guys want me to grab anything for you?" he asked, turning his head towards Kairi halfway through the question. He would already be in there, so maybe he could bring something back for his girlfriend and his best friend.
