Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

"Go, go, go," Roxas muttered, watching one of the teams move down the court. That just happened to be the one he was rooting for, and they were only a point behind their opponent. Games like this always made him sit on the edge of his seat, but he couldn't do that; Namine was against him, but he didn't really mind.

 

Sora kept his hands still on Ty, the brunet focused in on the game now. He and Roxas were rooting for the same team, and they were making a break for it with only a few seconds left. They had a chance to win this game, and it was very exciting to watch.

 

Kairi turned her attention to the boys for only a second, having heard Roxas's murmur from where she sat. She saw how intently they were focused on the game, finding it almost amusing before she too looked back to the screen.

Roxas's eyes started to widen a little as the seconds passed, the team still passing the ball around. They needed just two points to beat the opposing side, and there were only ten seconds left.

 

Sora's eyes were wide as he looked to the screen, seeing a player shoot the ball. The shot was good, and it gave the team the points they needed to win the game. "Yes!" he murmured, hearing the buzzer signal the end of the game.

Namine felt the arm around her, but she didn't remember falling asleep in this position. That could only mean that Roxas was awake, and he had changed his position while she was still unconscious. How did he manage to do that without waking her? She groggily tried to piece things together, her eyes staying shut as she tried to force herself awake.

 

On normal circumstances, Roxas would have cheered loudly and high-fived Sora if they were sitting next to each other. However, Namine was sleeping next to him, so he simply smiled at the team's win. And Sora was on the other couch, so he didn't even think about high-fiving his best friend. He was just glad the team won, even if the game had been recorded last night and was playing again.

 

Namine moved a little closer to Roxas without thought, though she couldn't be much closer to him than she already was. Come on, wake up, she told herself. She was overly sleepy today, and she supposed that it was because she was perfectly comfortable being held by Roxas.

 

Roxas tore his gaze from the television to the girl beside him when he felt her move against him. He stopped rubbing her arm and instead gently squeezed her shoulder. Namine was stirring somewhat, so he could only assume that she was beginning to wake up.

 

Namine brought her hand out of her lap and sleepily rubbed her eyes, a soft breath leaving her lips. She was waking up, even if she was doing it very slowly. She wished she could speed this up and be awake immediately, but her body wasn't complying.

 

Roxas's smile softened at the sight of Namine, the boy keeping his eyes on her. He didn't mean to stare, but she was adorable the few times he saw her wake up. The thoughts of the game temporarily left him as he looked down at the girl, keeping his hold on her secure.

 

Namine lowered her hand back down to her lap, forcing herself to open her eyes at the same time. She opened them halfway, blinking when things appeared a little out of focus. Why in the world was she so sleepy?

 

Kairi rested her chin on her knees as she continued to watch the television, which was still on the sports channel. They were watching the post-game show now, which went over highlights in the game. She was completely oblivious to the fact that her best friend was starting to wake up, being the last one to do so.

 

Namine blinked again, forcing her eyes open despite the brightness of the room. She turned her head slightly and saw both of her friends awake, another companion over there as well. The moment Ty caught onto Namine's eyes, he barked, wagging his tail joyfully as he wandered over to his master.

Sora brought his hands off of Ty when the dog moved, the brunet following the dog with his eyes. He saw the dog stop in front of his two blond friends, and Sora looked up at both their faces without thought. Ah, Namine's awake, he thought, realizing this truth because her eyes were open.

 

Kairi's head turned sharply away from the T.V. at the bark, her eyes finding Ty and then who he was in front of. She saw that Namine was finally awake and smiled slightly, seeing how groggy her friend was.

Roxas's eyes were stuck on Ty as well, the teen looking at him before gazing at the dog's master. Whether Namine had been awake before or not, there was no doubt she was now, after that.

 

Namine lifted a hand and set it on the dog's head, rubbing him lightly as she kept her head on Roxas's shoulder. She wished Ty wouldn't have barked so loudly; her ears hadn't been completely awake yet. Now, though, she could hear everything clearly, including Ty's loud panting.

 

Roxas continued to look down at Namine, feeling a little bad for her since Ty woke her up so abruptly. He moved his fingers over the fabric of her shirt on her shoulder briefly before stopping, his eyes still trained on her and her loyal pet.

 

Namine felt Roxas's fingers run over her arm for a second, capturing her attention. She felt Ty pull away a little bit and she set her hand in her lap, lifting her gaze to Roxas at the same time. Her sky blue eyes met his ocean blue's the girl blinking when she saw how awake he was.

 

"Morning," Roxas greeted with a small smile, seeing the tired look on Namine's face. So cute, he thought once more, briefly remembering how much he thought that the day before. But now he wasn't under a "spell"; she really was adorable when she just woke up.

 

"Morning," Namine said softly, a sleepy smile on her lips. It faded, though, when she remembered why she had been trying to wake up so quickly. "Have you guys all been up for a while?" She hoped the answer was no, but she had a feeling that they had all be awake for some time.

 

Roxas nodded slightly. He had been up for about an hour now. Sora woke up earlier than him, so he didn't know how long the brunet had been awake, but his girlfriend woke up a few minutes after Roxas did. Namine was the last to wake up, by about forty-five minutes too.

 

Namine's eyes widened faintly, Roxas confirming her fears. "Sorry!" she said, turning her head to look at Sora and Kairi as well. She shouldn't have been the last one to sleep in; she was the host here, and they were her company. How rude it was of her to sleep in and leave them to fend for themselves!
