Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi smiled softly and shook her head. "Don't worry about it," she insisted. "It's okay." They had all been just watching T.V., and the boys already had a small breakfast. They were fine.

 

Sora nodded in agreement, not minding that Namine got her rest. It had been a relaxing morning, though he knew he would have to get home soon. He would probably walk Kairi home as well, just because he didn't like her walking alone too often.

Namine felt her eyes return to their normal size, the girl realizing that her friends genuinely didn't mind. She turned her head on Roxas's shoulder, shutting her eyes for a brief moment. "Don't know why I'm so tired," she murmured, her voice soft enough that only Roxas could have heard it. True, she hadn't quite been feeling right yesterday, but that didn't seem like a reason for her to sleep in this late.

 

Roxas rubbed his hand over Namine's shoulder reassuringly. He could only assume that she was tired because she could have been missing some sleep some nights, but he didn't want to jump to conclusions. "Just go to bed earlier tonight," he suggested softly. "I'm sure you'll be fine."

 

"Mmm," Namine hummed, nodding faintly against Roxas's shoulder. Yeah, getting more rest at night would be helpful. Perhaps, like she had thought yesterday, she had caught a cold in the snow, and it was wearing her down. That would explain the faintness and the little bit of dizziness that she felt now.

 

Roxas continued to look down at the girl under his arm, tilting his head to the side slightly. "You need anything?" he asked, thinking he could get her a bottle of water or something if she requested it. As far as cooking went, he wasn't sure. If she wanted food, he would ask if a poptart was alright. He didn't even want to think about cooking again.

 

Namine shook her head faintly, the girl opening her eyes and lifting her head a little bit to look back up at Roxas. "No, I'm fine," she said softly. She didn't have an appetite, and she wasn't overly thirsty. Right now, she just wanted to enjoy being held by Roxas.

 

"Okay." Roxas nodded a little, but otherwise let his eyes linger on Namine as he held her. It was nice to be next to her when he first woke up in the morning, even though it had happened numerous times before. This was how it usually went; they all crashed at somebody's house after watching a movie or a long day. Nobody ever really seemed to mind, though.

 

Namine held Roxas's gaze, unable to decipher the look behind it because she was still a little tired. "What?" she asked softly, curious as to why he was looking at her that way. She had seen that expression before, but she was too tired right now to identify it.

 

Roxas shook his head slightly, a weak smile forming on his lips. "Nothing," he told Namine softly, his eyes staying on her for another moment before moving to the television once more. His thoughts had taken control of him for that moment, which was probably why he had been staring at her.

 

Namine smiled weakly because of the small smile Roxas had on his lips before he looked away. She looked away from him and saw where his gaze was, the girl focusing on the television as well. She didn't know what would happen the rest of the day, but for now, she was comfortable with the way things were. Her friends were surrounding her, she was in Roxas's arms, and Ty was sitting by her legs. So far, despite her rude awakening, the day was off to a great start.

 

A week later...

Riku walked along the sidewalk, his eyes roaming the area around him. New York City was foreign to him, but he had a good sense of direction, so he didn't think it would be too hard to find his destination. He was heading for Sora's, having a new set of information for him from the King. It probably wasn't going to go over well with him or Roxas, because thinking of it made even Riku uncomfortable. But he knew he had to get past it to conquer the problem, which was more severe than he thought.

"Okay, so I know Namine had it in that backpack," Roxas said as he stood in Sora's living room. He was talking about the video camera that Namine still had a hold of, the one that had the footage of him and Sora in the kitchen, which they still hadn't forgotten about. The past week had been full of some activity, but not enough to make either of them forget about the embarrassing tape. "If anything, she probably hid it somewhere in her room," Roxas continued, rubbing his hand over the back of his spikes.

 

"Or she gave it to Kairi," Sora said, leaning forward on the couch with his hands clasped together in front of him. He and Roxas were alone for the first time in about a week, the two of them finally discussing how they could recover the embarrassing video that Namine had recorded of them. They had just started talking, though, so they didn't have anything solid laid out just yet.

 

Riku glanced down at his outfit, the boy needing to buy clothes from this world so he could blend in. Not that my hair sticks out enough, he thought sarcastically as he stared down at his jeans and shoes, a dark blue jacket covering him. It wasn't the best for this weather, but he was used to this kind of climate, so it didn't really matter to him how cold he was. He looked up, seeing the street sign that told him to turn left, and he did just that, now on Sora's street.

Roxas made a face. "Yeah, I didn't think of that," he admitted. The girls were definitely in on the spying together at the time, so there was no doubt they still were keeping the footage from the boys on purpose.

 

Sora sighed, shaking his head slight at his own thought. "But that's probably not the case," he said, furrowing his brows slightly as he looked down at the ground. "The girls probably aren't suspicious anymore, since we haven't brought up the tape in a week." Namine probably had it...the question was, where?

 

Riku walked down the sidewalk, looking for Sora's home. It had been almost a month since Sora came back here and Riku went to talk to the King. That had never really ended, though; he'd been visiting the King more frequently since Sora left, and that was how he found out about this new problem. It seemed more threatening than the Heartless invasion, when Sora and Roxas had surprised him by joining him unexpectedly in Agrabah. The thought made Riku angry, but there was nothing he could do but fight it, and alongside Sora and Roxas.

Roxas walked a few steps forward before turning around, starting to pace as he thought this over. They needed to brainstorm, because he was definitely not going to let Namine use that footage against him; it was embarrassing enough that he had to wear an apron, but since she caught it on tape? No. Just no. "They probably think we gave up," Roxas added, remembering how they had given up the very day the event took place.

 

"Right," Sora said, nodding in agreement. That would really help him and Roxas, because if the girls weren't on the defensive, he and Roxas could easily get a hold of that video. Unless Namine had several copies of it. His eyes widened slightly at his own thought, the brunet lifting his gaze to his pacing friend. "You don't think she made copies of it, do you?" he asked, his voice showing his horror at the idea.

 

Riku's eyes scanned the homes on either side of the street as he walked, until he saw the one he was looking for. Sora's house. He continued forward, passing another house before turning onto the path to his friend's home.

Roxas stopped walking and turned his head to Sora, eyes widening a little. "She wouldn't," he said, though he wasn't completely sure himself. He didn't know what he and Sora would do if she did make the copies. That would actually be a nightmare.

 

"Are you sure?" Sora asked, arching a brow in concern as his thoughts kept getting worse. "Maybe she didn't make many, but would she make one for Kairi to have? Then they would each have one." The brunet rose to his feet, frowning and running a hand through his spiky brown hair. This was an awful situation, letting the girls have that embarrassing footage. He and Roxas should have gotten their hands on it right away instead of waiting a week.

 

Riku approached Sora's door after stepping onto the porch, bringing his hand up and ringing the doorbell. It was now or never, and never would be the worst choice. He and Roxas had to come with him as soon as possible to control this threat.

Roxas frowned and was about to answer when the doorbell chimed from the entrance hall. He glanced in that direction before turning his eyes to Sora, his brows furrowing in curiosity. Was Sora expecting someone?

 

Sora stood still for a second, trying to think if he was expecting anyone. He wasn't, so he assumed that the girls had decided to stop in. But what would they think, seeing Roxas and Sora together without the TV even on!? "Turn on sports," he told his best friend. "It's probably the girls. We can't let them suspect anything is up." When he finished speaking, he started out of the living room, heading towards his front door.
