Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Riku nodded, meeting Sora's eyes. It was obvious that this wasn't easy on anybody; Riku could tell that Sora and Roxas weren't very excited about leaving, but it couldn't be helped. Leaving Kairi and Namine was probably a huge part of it, but to keep the girls completely safe, they needed to leave and conquer this threat for good.

Roxas turned his head to look at Sora at the words, definitely agreeing. Neither of the girls could be left out of this; it was far too important.

 

Sora turned his head to face Roxas, his blue eyes finding the pair identical to his own. "I think the girls are together today," he said, recalling how they had said they would hang out today. "So only one of us has to call. You want to, or should I?" It didn't matter to him either way; they wouldn't say what was up over the phone. They had to say this in person, since it was so important.

 

"I'll do it," Roxas volunteered with a small nod. He would just call Namine, ask her what she was up to, make it seem like a casual phone call, and then ask if he and Sora could join them. He learned from his last phone call for a situation like this that it was best to act like everything was okay until they were there in person, that way the girls wouldn't worry over them longer than they needed to.

 

"Alright," Sora said with a weak nod, looking away from Roxas and gazing at the ground instead. This was an awful situation, but he wasn't about to get upset; this was more important than any preferences he or his friends had. The worlds were in danger, and it was their job to protect them. Simple as that.

 

Roxas pushed himself up from the couch once Sora looked away, silently exiting the room and walking into the entrance hall to make the phone call. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Namine's number, lifting the device to his ear.

 

Namine had been speaking to Kairi just a moment earlier, but her phone rang in her pocket right after she finished her sentence. She offered Kairi a weak smile as an apology and picked it up, putting it to her ear. "Hello?"

 

"Hey, Nam," Roxas greeted, his voice sounding much laid-back than he felt. He brought a hand to the back of his head as he stared at the floor. "What're you up to?" He hoped they were at either Namine's or Kairi's, that way finding them would be easier.

 

"Not too much," Namine responded, shifting her gaze to the ground in thought. "Just relaxing with Kairi at my house." They had been hanging out for a few hours now, watching chick-flicks and talking about girl-stuff. It wasn't earth-shattering stuff, just casual conversation.

 

"Oh, that's good," Roxas said, grateful for the fact that they were at Namine's, even if Sora did live the farthest from her house. At least they knew where to find them now.

 

"Mmhmm," Namine hummed, still looking down at the ground. She didn't want to be rude to Roxas, but she didn't want to keep Kairi waiting, either. "What's up?" she asked, wondering what prompted Roxas to make this phone call. Did he just want to talk to her? Maybe get together?

 

Roxas kept his hand behind his head, walking a few steps forward before stopping and turning on his heels. "I don't mean to interrupt anything, but would you mind if we joined you?" he asked, hoping she wouldn't ask who "we" was. What would she say if he said Riku was coming?

 

"No, we don't mind," Namine said, lifting her gaze to Kairi as she spoke. She was sure she wouldn't mind seeing her boyfriend, and besides, things were always more fun when the boys came over. "When do you guys want to come over?"

 

Roxas looked toward the living room, the doorway not too far away. "We'll probably leave in a few minutes. Is that okay?" he said, lowering his arm to his side. He was happy it was this easy to sound casual; he didn't want to worry Namine when she didn't have any idea of what was going on.

 

"Yeah, sure," Namine said, nodding slightly and shifting her gaze back to the ground. "See you guys soon." She wasn't sure if the boys were at Sora's home or at Roxas's, so that would make a difference in time. Either way, she would see them within the next half hour.

 

"Bye." Roxas pulled the phone from his ear and pressed the End Call button as he walked toward the living room doorway. He entered the room just as he flipped his phone shut, stopping there and looking at Sora and Riku. "Namine said we could come over to her house, so I guess we can meet there," he said. He still had to run home and grab his traveling garments, since he believed they would be leaving today, after telling the girls.

 

Namine pulled the phone away from her ear, snapping it shut and putting it on the end table beside her. "Roxas and Sora want to come over," she told her best friend. "They'll be here soon."

Sora turned his head and saw Roxas, the brunet nodding at what he said. "You heading home to get changed?" he asked, somehow knowing what his friend had in mind. Sora would have to put on his traveling clothes as well, since they had to hurry up and leave.

 

Kairi nodding, her eyes already on Namine from the phone call. "Okay," she said, wondering why the boys would come over. She figured they either had a score to settle and wanted the girls to judge, or they were bored. Either way, she didn't mind; she always loved when the boys joined them, since it was more amusing when they were around.

Roxas nodded, looking at Sora. He always had his outfit stowed away in case he needed it, but he didn't think he'd be needing it so soon. "I'll see you there," he said, his eyes darting between Sora and Riku. He saw Riku nod and then he looked back to Sora before turning around and walking out of the room, heading to grab his things and leave.

 

Sora furrowed his brows, the action not caused by anything that Roxas did. The three of them...they were really going to be fighting again. Sora had never allowed himself to lose any muscle over the past month, but still, he was nervous. "...What do you think is causing this?" he asked Riku, looking up from the ground to gaze at his friend.

 

Riku still had his arms crossed, his sight moving from the doorway to Sora. "I honestly have no idea," he told his best friend. It had to be something really powerful to make this much mess in the Realm, though. Whatever it was, they had to get rid of it. Fast.

 

Sora nodded slightly, rising to his feet. He had sort of been expecting an answer like that. "We'll head out in a minute," he said, turning his head toward the hallway. First, he needed to get changed into his traveling clothes. Then, it would be off to Namine's, where they would inform the girls about what was going on. And then...the Realm of Darkness.
