Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Nathaniel opened his eyes, which immediately were set on Sora. He roared again in anger, sweeping his tail across the floor toward the boy, enough space between them and the other battle to not interfere.

 

Sora saw the tail coming, and his eyes widened. The brunet acted on reflex, pushing off the ground and leaping over the tail a second before it would have hit him. However, he was aware that the tail could easily come back at him again, and if that were the case, he didn't know if he could avoid it.

 

Nathaniel saw Sora jump over his attack, but he quickly brought his tail back in the opposite direction, whipping it at the boy quickly. If the boy neglected to dodge him, then perhaps things could work in his favor.

 

Just as Sora suspected, he saw the tail coming back in his direction. He grunted and tried to jump again, but he was half a second too late. He felt the tail impact both his legs, knocking him back down to the ground with a loud thud.

 

Nathaniel bared his teeth in a smile, his tail halting. Perhaps things were going to work out well for him. He lifted his tail toward Sora's form, planning to grab the brunet.

Riku saw what was happening, having just glanced back to Sora after watching Roxas. His eyes widened and he gasped slightly. Sora, get up, he thought in alarm. If Nathaniel got a hold of him, things couldn't possibly end well.

 

Sora gasped raggedly, pushing himself up onto his hands and knees. He furrowed his brows in pain, not able to see Nathaniel's tail coming because he was looking down a little bit. That, and unlike the Realm of Light, there was no light here to cast a shadow and warn him about what was coming.

 

Nathaniel slid his tail around Sora, wrapping it around him as he started to lift him off the ground. Oh, was this boy in for a treat. Nathaniel wondered if Sora was familiar with the way an anaconda killed its prey, considering that was how he was going to die.

Riku watched from where he stood, knowing it was too late for Sora to avoid Nathaniel now. His grip on Way to Dawn tightened at the knowledge, able to do nothing but watch his friend from the sidelines.

 

Sora grunted, furrowing his eyebrows and clenching his eyes shut when he felt Nathaniel's tail wrap around him tightly. He struggled against the dragon, his arms still free because Nathaniel had his tail around his chest only. That didn't really help Sora, though, since he was being held too tightly to swing his Keyblades at the dragon.

 

Nathaniel kept his tail wound around Sora, lifting the Keyblade wielder close to his face. He stared at the boy with his green dragon eyes, his feeling of triumph obvious in his gaze. Prepare to die, Nathaniel thought silently, slowly starting to tighten his hold on Sora.

 

Sora glanced at Nathaniel's eyes for a second before his eyes widened, feeling the tail tighten around him. He grunted and tried harder to get out of it, though he knew that without a miracle, he was doomed. The tail was too tight, and it was already impossible to fight back. How was he supposed to get out of this?

 

Nathaniel closed his tail more around Sora, tightening his hold on him. It would only be minutes before Sora lost the ability to breathe, and would surely die.

 

Sora looked down at the tail around him, his hands on the tail even though the Keyblades were still in his grasp. Wait, Keyblades, he suddenly thought. He shakily raised the Kingdom Key, pointing it at Nathaniel's face. However, when he realized that he still didn't have any magic, he lowered the blade. He couldn't form any type of attack, so what now?!

 

Nathaniel bared his teeth, seeming to smile in triumph as Sora struggled. Good, just what he liked to see. After what the brunet made him go through not too long ago, he was surely going to die. It was only a matter of time, his tail continuing to tighten and squeeze Sora.

 

Sora felt himself suffocating, and a thought crossed his mind: Give up. No, not give up on surviving, but give up fighting against Nathaniel's grip, since it wasn't doing him any good. He groaned, lowering his Keyblades and loosening his grip on them as he shut his eyes. There was only one chance he had left now, and if he wanted to survive, he needed to outsmart Nathaniel.

 

Finally, Nathaniel thought, seeing that the Keyblade master was starting to give up. He was trapped, and there was no way out of this. Only when Sora was dead would he release him, and then the job would be done.

Riku watched Sora with concerned eyes, his eyebrows furrowed over them at first. But then his eyes widened when he realized what was happening. Sora was suffocating.

 

Sora coughed weakly, releasing his grip on the Keyblades both willingly and unwillingly. They fell through the air and then onto the ground, clattering when they hit the ground. He lowered his head a little further, forcing himself to become more limp in Nathaniel's grasp.

 

Nathaniel saw Sora release his weapons, which only proved his suspicions of the boy beginning to lose his grip on life. The dragon kept his tail wrapped around Sora, believing his hold on him was tight enough as he watched him die.

Riku gasped slightly in disbelief when he saw Sora's Keyblades fall, watching them hit the ground. He stared at them with wide eyes, expecting to see them fade because Sora was going unconscious. But they didn't...

 

Make it convincing, Sora told himself, trying to keep a clear head even though he was losing oxygen. He allowed his body to become even more limp in Nathaniel's body, his head now on the dragon's tail. If he convinced Nathaniel that he was already dead, then surely he would lower him to the ground...

 

Nathaniel's mouth closed, hiding his teeth now that he knew the boy was dead. He blew out his nose, snorting in a way before he loosened his grip on Sora. He then let go of him completely from where he was in front of his face, letting his limp body fall toward the ground.

They're not fading away, Riku concluded, his eyes wandering up when he saw movement. He caught the dragon releasing Sora, his best friend's body starting to drop. He hated seeing the sight, even though it was just an act. Sora wasn't really unconscious or dead; he was tricking his enemy.

 

Sora felt himself falling, which meant that his act had successively fooled Nathaniel. A small amount of oxygen returned to his mind while he was in midair, which activated his mind enough for him to realize what he needed to do. His feet were already towards the ground, so he focused his strength and hovered at the last second, not impacting the ground. He was winded and weakened from what just happened, but he was alive and able to fight. That was good enough for him.
