Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas left the living room and traveled a couple feet down the hall before turning into the kitchen, the smell of the food getting stronger. "Hey guys," he greeted, his voice still showing how tired he was. He rubbed at his sore neck as he got a small wave from Riku, heading toward the table to sit next to Namine.

"Morning," Kairi said, grabbing some orange juice from the fridge. She shut the door and moved over to the counter to pour some of the beverage into some glasses.

 

Namine looked up when she heard Roxas speak, her eyes finding him when he sat down next to her. "Hey," she greeted softly, seeing how tired he still appeared. He must have just woken up a few minutes after she had left, since he had been asleep when she left the room.

 

Roxas looked to Namine as he set his arms on the table, smiling softly at her. He stifled a yawn with his hand, but his attention was torn from that when Kairi spoke.

"Perfect timing, Roxas," Kairi said, bringing over two glasses of orange juice for him and Namine. She set them down in front of the blondes and smiled at him. "I just finished with breakfast." She then turned around and went back to the counter to fetch the plates of food for her friends.

Roxas blinked, his eyebrows lifting as his eyes fell on Riku's plate. He saw that most of the food was gone now, only a few bites left of the toast and bacon. He put a hand on his stomach instantly, feeling how empty it was. Good timing indeed.

 

Namine brought her hand off her cheek, grabbing the glass of orange juice that Kairi had set in front of her. She brought it to her lips and drank a few sips of it, the beverage tasting good and feeling refreshing at the same time.

 

Kairi walked back over to the table with two plates full of the breakfast she had made. She stopped between Roxas and Namine's chairs and set the plates down in front of them. "Here you go," she said softly.

Roxas glanced up at Kairi and smiled a little. "Thanks," he said, lowering his sight back to the plate of delicious food now in front of him. He reached for his fork then, starting to dig into his eggs.

 

Namine lowered her glass back down to the table, her eyes wandering to her best friend when she put down two plates of food. "Thanks," she said with a nod, a small smile appearing on her lips as she showed her gratitude.

 

Kairi nodded and went around the table to return to the counter. She approached the counter and gave herself some of the breakfast as well, though she left some for Sora whenever he woke up as well.

 

Namine picked up her fork and started eating, the food tasting good to her. At the same time, though, she wasn't extremely hungry. The thought of what happened last night made her stomach feel a little sick again, though she wasn't about to show that to her any of her friends.

 

Kairi poured herself a glass of juice as well, and after putting the orange juice back in the fridge, she grabbed her plate and glass. She then walked over to the table, taking the seat beside Riku and across from Namine to enjoy her meal.

Roxas bit into a piece of bacon, starving. He hadn't eaten since he was at Sora's the other day, so his behavior was logical.

 

Namine finished her meal within a few minutes of starting it, the girl leaving a little bit of egg and half a piece of toast on her plate. Kairi had done an excellent job with breakfast; it was a shame that Namine wasn't hungry enough to eat the rest of it.

 

Riku sat back in his chair now, his arms crossed. He had finished his meal long before everyone else. And now he had his eyes on Roxas, arching an eyebrow. "Take it easy," he advised, though he found the Nobody's actions somewhat humorous. Roxas was actually reminding him of Sora at that moment.

Roxas looked up from his plate, having just stuffed another bite of his eggs in his mouth. He stared at Riku and furrowed his eyebrows. "Donf tew me wha fu do," he said through a mouth full of food, meaning to say, Don't tell me what to do. Of course, it didn't come out that way.

Kairi glanced up at the boys and smiled briefly before biting once more into her toast, that being the last thing on her plate.

 

Namine giggled at Roxas, a small smile on her lips. He was obviously very hungry; it was apparent in the way that he was eating his food right now.

 

Roxas pushed his plate away after popping the last bite of eggs in mouth, giving Riku a look. "Dere, done," he said, leaning back in his chair as he chewed his food.

"Glad to hear it," Riku said, smirking slightly. Yup, he really was Sora's Nobody. Looks and personality, when the time was right.

 

Namine picked up her glass of orange juice, taking a few sips of it as she listened to the interaction between Riku and Roxas. She couldn't help but wonder about Sora, though. Was he still asleep?

 

Kairi took one last sip of her orange juice before she pushed herself up from her seat. She started to gather the dishes, amusement still on her face from the boys' interactions. She could tell that Riku and Roxas had some sore spots in their relationship, but she otherwise believed that it was good-natured and civil. That was good; she couldn't deal with a fight in her kitchen.

 

Namine set down her glass, which was now empty of orange juice. That was alright, though; she had drank plenty of it, and she was satisfied with both hunger and thirst.

 

Kairi gathered the rest of the dishes, which were now stacked. She turned and walked over to the sink, setting them in it for now; she would clean them later. She noticed the leftover food, remembering that she had left it for Sora. She only stared at it for a second before she put the food on a plate, knowing Sora had to eat before he left today.

 

Sora slept soundly in the living room, unaware that his friends had already eaten breakfast. He allowed himself to drop his guard as he rested, trusting that since at least Riku was awake, he had a handle on things. And besides, Sora didn't sense any darkness or threat around him.

 

Kairi grabbed a fork before turning to her friends. "Be right back," she told them, already walking toward the doorway that would lead her to the hall. As much as she didn't want to wake Sora up, she realized that he did need to eat in order to gain some energy back.

Roxas nodded once as he picked up his juice, watching Kairi go until she disappeared. He took a drink of his orange juice to wash down his meal, his stomach now satisfied.

 

During his time asleep, Sora was fortunate not to have any dreams or thoughts to distract the restfulness of the nap. Of course, once he awakened, he would recall everything that was happening and feel compelled to get a move on.
