Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

"You okay?" Kairi asked, looking up at her friend slightly when he stopped in front of her and Namine. He didn't look good, and by the looks of his injury, he probably wasn't.

Riku flexed his jaw against a second of burning before responding. "I'll survive," he said with a small nod, trying to assure both Kairi and Namine that he would be alright until this was over. Whenever that was.

 

Namine glanced down at the ground, sad that Riku was wounded. She wished somehow things could be different, but Smith was the cause of this, and he was good at causing people pain. She had learned that from past experience.

 

Riku's eyes darted from Kairi to Namine, and upon seeing the blonde's lowered eyesight, he wished he could come up with something more promising. But now, the focus needed to be on something much more important than himself. And that was Smith. At the thought, Riku's head turned to the side, his eyes finding Sora, Roxas, and Smith still in battle.

Roxas took a few steps back, having just been blade-to-blade with Smith. He gritted his teeth together in anger, his eyes piercing as he glared at the man. This battle had been going on for a while, and he had been so busy that he neglected to see Riku rescue the girls from their imprisonment.

 

Sora charged at Smith when Roxas was forced back a few steps, the brunet seeing both his blades clash with Smith's gunblade. He grunted and put as much force as he could behind it, knowing that he and Roxas had an advantage over Smith because they were both so quick in battle.

Smith grunted, pushing against Sora's blades as he had just done with Roxas's. The man was holding his own against the two Keyblade wielders, but he had taken some damage since Riku stopped fighting. Of course, Sora and Roxas had some new injuries as well. One of the boys seemed more hurt than the other, though, so Smith was going to try and knock him out of the battle completely.

 

Roxas brought back his left arm and flung Oathkeeper at Smith while he had the distance between them. He winced when pain shot through his already wounded shoulder from the throw, but he ignored it to the best of his ability. Now was no time for weakness.

 

Smith pushed back on Sora's blades and launched himself backwards, avoiding Roxas's Keyblade. He charged forward after that and swung at Sora again, his gunblade hitting the brunet's two Keyblades. It forced the teen to take a few steps back, but he wasn't done just yet. First, though, he would need to distract Roxas.

 

Roxas growled slightly in frustration when his blade missed its target. He summoned it back to him, twirling it once in his grasp as he set his footing. He was preparing himself to charge, though he had a feeling that wasn't going to happen.

 

Smith opened his hand and fired Dark Aura at Roxas, trusting that it would provide the distraction that he needed. I bet you don't remember using this move on me, Smith thought, sending an electric charge through his gunblade when he recalled a powerful attack Sora used against him in the warehouse. He grunted and chucked it at the kid, the blade spinning through the air and moving very quickly.

Sora's eyes widened, seeing the blade coming directly at him. He didn't even have time to lift his Keyblades, the gunblade striking him that quickly. He let out a loud cry of pain, feeling as if he had just been electrocuted.

 

Roxas lifted his blades, deflecting the orbs and sending them scattering just as he heard Sora's cry of pain. His alarmed eyes went from Smith to his Somebody, the boy tensing at the sight.

"Sora!" Kairi cried, stepping forward without thought. She felt Riku take hold of her arm to keep her from going any further, though her sight didn't leave the boy she loved, his cry terrifying her.

 

Sora knew this attack; it was one of his own. And that meant that the blade was coming back. Duck! he told himself, his body stiff because of the electricity. However, his body didn't obey, another cry leaving him when the blade impacted him again from behind. He fell down to one knee, the pain nearly unbearable.

Smith charged towards Sora, catching his blade in the air as he raced towards the teen. He put both his hands on the hilt and vertically hit Sora with his blade, the Keyblade wielder too stunned to attack back. He then pulled it back again, prepared to deal the second and fatal blow.

Sora shut his eyes tightly, sensing the second strike of "Blitz" about to hit him. Sure enough, it hit him, knocking him into the air and back several yards before he stopped on his stomach, face on the black floor of the Realm of Darkness.

 

No! Roxas's body stiffened, his wide eyes on his best friend. It occurred to him a while back that Smith was able to steal their abilities, and it was obvious that he had done just that against Sora. He glanced from Sora to Smith and then back again, fearing his friend's safety.

Kairi gasped, seeing Sora not too far away from where she, Riku, and Namine stood. She pulled her arm out of Riku's grasp, which had loosened after what happened to Sora, and ran toward her boyfriend instantly.

Riku's alarmed eyes moved from Sora to Kairi, the boy reaching out to her when she ran off. But he didn't hesitate going after her, trusting Namine to stay close and follow.

 

Namine followed Kairi and Riku, two steps behind her guy friend. She had seen Smith attack Sora repeatedly, and she knew by the fact that Sora wasn't moving that he was hurt.

Sora groaned into the ground, his fingers twitching slightly when he felt a static shock. He felt the Keyblades that were loose in his grasp start to fade away, his consciousness threatening to do the same.

Smith looked up from Sora, seeing Riku and the girls rushing over to their friend. "Hmph." He pulled back his hand and cast Dark Aura in their direction, hoping that he could at least hit Sora if not all of the friends that were coming to his aid.

 

Kairi ran forward a few more feet before stopping and dropping to the ground right beside Sora. She didn't even acknowledge the fact that Smith sent an attack their way, more focused on her boyfriend.

Roxas took a step forward when he saw the attack, knowing it was headed toward all of his friends. "No!" he cried, watching the Firaga orbs soar through the air straight for Namine, Sora, Kairi, and Riku.

Riku noticed Smith's attack just as Roxas cried out in horror, the older teen moving quickly toward Sora. He gripped his Keyblade tightly as he stepped in front of Sora and Kairi, and surely Namine as well, casting Dark Shield immediately to deflect the orbs.

 

Namine was next to Kairi when Riku stepped in front of all of them, and she was relieved to see him cast a shield that protected them from Smith's sudden attack. She glanced at Kairi next to her, seeing that her friend didn't even pay attention to the threat.

Sora heard an attack being deflected, the noise sounding like it came from right in front of him. However, it was soft to him, and he knew that he was about to pass out. His Keyblades faded out of his grasp, the brunet losing consciousness because of his wounds.

 

Kairi shook her head in disbelief when she saw Sora's Keyblades fade away. "No. Sora..." she said, reaching forward to touch his shoulder. "Sora, open your eyes." He was face down on the ground and his eyes were closed, but she didn't want to accept that he had passed out from Smith's attack.

Roxas felt a small wave of relief wash over him when he saw Riku take care of the Dark Aura attack, but that didn't stop the blond from getting any angrier. He looked back to Smith and didn't hesitate his next action, pulling back Oathkeeper and chucking it at the man. "You'll pay!" he cried.

 

Smith turned, grunting when he felt Roxas's Keyblade impact him. He took a few steps back in recovery, at the same time creating more distance between Sora and his friends. No! he thought, gripping his blade more tightly as he glared at Roxas. I hate leaving things unfinished.

 

Roxas raced forward, summoning Oathkeeper back to him as he charged at Smith. He brought his blades back, swinging when there was only a few feet between him and his foe. He was going to pay for all of the harm he caused his friends. Now.

Riku saw Roxas had a handle on Smith for now, so he turned around a few seconds after Kairi spoke. Sora's Keyblades were gone, which instantly told Riku that his friend had gone unconscious. For how long, he wasn't sure, but it definitely wasn't good that he did.

 

Smith lifted his gunblade, feeling Roxas's attack hindered. The Nobody had a lot of fight left in him, which surprised him, wince they had been fighting for a while now. But Smith wasn't upset; if Roxas wanted a fight, then he would give it to him.

 

Roxas briefly remembered something he had pulled on Sora when they fought in the past, and he didn't hesitate doing it again. He brought his blades back and repeatedly struck down on Smith's blade in front of him, hearing the constant clash of impact as he grunted with every swing.

 

Sora's fingers twitched against the cold ground, the brunet experiencing the sensation of pain. He wasn't fully out of his unconsciousness yet, but the pain was starting to bring him out of it, as well as the sounds that he heard.

Smith grunted, putting a hand on the end of his gunblade to keep it level. He felt Roxas strike his blade repeatedly, and eventually he was forced to give, one knee coming out from underneath him because of the constant pressure.
