Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas felt the difference in the pressure behind Smith's hold, the blond feeling a memory flash before his eyes as he swung Oathkeeper to his left, aiming to knock the gunblade out of Smith's grasp. He was enraged, and Smith was going to die under Roxas's wrath.

 

Sora grunted softly, furrowing his brows when he heard the sound of a sword clattering to the ground. He also felt a hand on his shoulder, the brunet sensing another presence in front of him. What...?

Smith looked to the side with wide eyes, seeing Roxas knock his sword out of his hand. He then shifted his gaze to Roxas, prepared to cast a defensive shield if he had to. He may have been weaponless, but he wasn't defenseless.

 

Roxas swung Oblivion down on Smith, Oathkeeper following shortly after as a roar of anger left his throat. If he managed to knock Smith's blade out of his hands, then he knew he could somehow gain advantages, just like this one.

Kairi winced faintly at the sound she registered as Roxas's cry, her eyes on Sora regardless of the battle still taking place. He seemed to be waking up, the girl's hand still on his shoulder.

 

Smith cast a shield around him as soon as he felt the threat, the man seeing Roxas's blades bounce off his shield. He winced at the pain of his injuries but stood up under the shield, summoning his gunblade back into his grasp.

Sora set his hands on the ground, slowly pushing himself up to his knees and forcing his eyes open. He looked down at the ground, blinking a few times to clear the haze that unconsciousness had brought to him. Ouch...he thought, feeling as if he had been run over by a truck.

 

Roxas's arms recoiled, but he brought them right back down on the shield. He struck at it a few times in fury, even as Smith stood and got his weapon back. Roxas was too angry to stop, but he knew that once the shield faded, he would hit Smith at least once.

Kairi's hand slipped from Sora's shoulder and to her lap as she rested on knees, her eyes on him. Her eyes held pure concern for him, having seen what happened only moments ago.

 

Smith couldn't believe that Roxas kept swinging, the man surprised when the shield vanished a second earlier than expected. He winced, feeling one of Roxas's Keyblades hit his arm. However, he brought up his gunblade and blocked the other attack before it could land.

Sora winced, a soft gasp of pain leaving him when he felt a little bit of lingering electricity. His hand immediately curled into a fist, the brunet furrowing his eyebrows and closing his eyes. Gotta get up, he thought. Can't just sit here...

 

Roxas felt Oathkeeper get hindered by Smith's gunblade. His arm already started shaking since it was weaker now, due to his injured shoulder. Noticing that, he swung Oblivion since he had that advantage, aiming for Smith's side as his arm traveled horizontally.

"...Sora?" Kairi called, her worry evident through her voice. She wasn't sure she wanted to see the look on his face, having a feeling his boyish features wouldn't hold a good expression. Not that it was to be expected, considering the circumstances.

 

Smith pushed Oathkeeper away and brought his gunblade down to block the other Keyblade, the man starting to get annoyed. He just couldn't get an advantage over Roxas! He pushed hard against Roxas's blade, hoping to knock him back.

"I'm alright," Sora immediately said, keeping his left hand in a fist as the Kingdom Key reappeared in his right hand. He stuck it into the ground in front of him, using it to help him rise to his feet. He glanced upwards and saw Riku standing in front of him, Roxas and Smith fighting each other further away.

 

Roxas was about to bring the silver Keyblade in his left hand back toward Smith, but because of his older injury, he was slower there. So instead of dealing a blow like he planned, he felt Smith push his other Keyblade back, the blond taking a few steps back due to the force.

Riku looked down at his best friend, Way to Dawn still in his grasp in case Smith decided to take any other chances. Sora said he felt alright, though Riku was sure there was more pain that he was letting on. He didn't say anything, though, but simply nodded to Sora in acceptance of his words.

 

Smith took his opportunity, rushing at Roxas when he was recovering. He swung his gunblade at him horizontally, knowing that if he didn't land a blow soon, he was in serious trouble. He could already feel his wounds slowing him down, but Roxas was still in pretty good shape.

Sora stood up fully, his Keyblade coming out of the ground as he moved and stood next to Riku, also more directly in front of Kairi. He was curious to how long he was unconscious, but he didn't bother asking; it didn't really matter now, since Roxas had the fight under control.

 

Roxas couldn't bring his blades up in time to block, the boy squeezing his eyes shut as he prepared for the pain aimed at him now. Less than a second later, a cry left his lips instantly, the boy feeling himself stumble back to try and get away from the source.

Kairi's eyes moved from Sora at the sharp sound, her head turning sharply as she recognized Roxas under attack. She pushed herself up from the dark ground of the Realm, her heart beating rapidly, much like it had been for quite some time now.

 

Sora's eyes narrowed, seeing Roxas take a hit from Smith. He clenched his empty hand in a tighter fist and took a step forward, prepared to step back into the battle and help his friend, the teen forgetting his injuries at that moment.

Smith pulled back his weapon, also jumping back to take some time in recovery. Roxas's attacks on him earlier weren't for nothing; the man was in a lot of pain. He had been strong enough at first, but now he wasn't sure if he could stand up to Roxas, since he and his two friends had weakened and wounded him.

 

Roxas summoned away Oathkeeper without thought, lifting his left hand to his right side, where he had just been hit. He took in heavy breaths, wincing slightly as he looked up at the man not far from him. He gritted his teeth, but otherwise did nothing. The pain in his side was keeping him still for a second, and it was clear Smith was recovering as well.

"Don't." Riku lifted a hand to Sora's shoulder, stopping his friend in his tracks as he too faced the battle. "This is his fight now. Let him finish it," he said calmly. It was obvious that Roxas and Smith had an ugly past, and if Roxas intended on finishing Smith then, he was going to have to permanently end things now. It was justice.

 

Smith frowned at Roxas, breathing heavily himself. He had to finish Roxas, before things got worse for him. He charged forward, both his hands on the hilt of his gunblade as he swung his weapon at Roxas.

Sora turned his head to Riku, feeling his friend's hand on his shoulder. He glanced back at Roxas, though, concerned for his friend. He knew that Roxas should be the one to handle this but...Sora chased the thoughts away, watching the two people opposing each other. This was the way it was destined to be.

 

Roxas grunted as he lifted Oblivion, holding the hilt with both hands now as he blocked the blow. He felt the force under Smith's blade shake his own, the teen opening his eyes to glare up at the older man. The one who was going to die.

 

Smith pressed against Roxas's blade, though he didn't have the strength he did earlier that battle. He felt the glare that Roxas was giving him and he glared right back, a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his head as he tried to keep the pressure on Roxas.

 

Roxas saw that small sign of struggle from Smith, which made him furrow his eyebrows. He pushed back from Smith's gunblade, but didn't stop there. He jumped up and flipped over Smith's form, turning around quickly on his feet and swinging at Smith's back.

 

Smith stumbled forward, feeling Oblivion impact his back. He arched his back in pain, turning his head to look over his shoulder at the boy responsible for causing him the pain.

 

"C'mon!" Roxas shouted, going in for another strike. He wasn't done yet. Smith had to pay for all of the harm he caused Namine, and his friends. The Realm of Darkness wasn't bad enough for Smith. Roxas was just going to wipe him from existence completely.

 

Smith turned around, hitting Roxas's blade away. He brought up a hand and tried to call upon the power of Dark Aura, only to find that he had exhausted his large supply of magic.
