Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Smith managed to hit Roxas's blade to the right, and the blond responded by turning in that direction and swinging Oblivion around. He swiped at Smith, his blade moving horizontally.

 

Smith's eyes widened, the man jumping back but still feeling Roxas's blade cut along his stomach. His gunblade was lowered by his side as he gasped at the pain, the man unprepared for what Roxas did next.

 

Roxas set his right foot behind him as he twirled Oblivion once in his grasp, preparing for his next attack. He then gripped the blade with both hands and released a harsh cry, jabbing his Keyblade forward, right into Smith's heart.

 

Smith's eyes widened, the man gasping when he felt Roxas's Keyblade pierce his heart. He dropped his gunblade, the weapon falling to the ground. His surprised eyes went up to Roxas's, seeing the Nobody right in front of him.

 

"How does it feel," Roxas spat as he met Smith's gaze, "to lose your own existence to a Nobody?" The blond glared at the man with steely blue eyes, knowing this would be the last time he would ever have to deal with Smith again. He pressed his lips into a firm line as he pulled back Oblivion, removing it from Smith's heart.

Kairi stared at Roxas and Smith in stunned silence, one hand covering her mouth. Roxas... He did it. He defeated Smith...

 

Smith fell down to his knees, his hands catching him before he could fall onto his face. He took in a ragged breath, hearing Roxas's taunt. "Rotton...Nobody..." he gasped, seeing his vision blur as he stared at his hands on the ground.

Sora watched in silence, seeing Roxas the victor of the battle. He was relieved to see that; just a few minutes ago, he wasn't sure how the battle would turn out. But just like the other times they fought Smith, they always won. Smith and his darkness were defeated. Permanently.

 

Roxas stared down at his foe with nothing but hatred, Oblivion at his side. He thought back to all the times Smith had hurt Namine and his friends in the process of seeking vengeance, now and in the past. Nobody would have to deal with this man's hunger for power any longer. Smith was going to disappear, and so was his power. Roxas couldn't have felt more satisfied.

 

Namine stood slightly behind Riku, able to see Roxas and Smith. She watched the two of them, her hands folded in front of her as she stared at them. Smith...was defeated. He would never be back again. He would never threaten her again, or her friends.

Smith felt his arms shake and he fell down, unable to hold on any longer. His eyes shut and he started fading away, his weapon fading out of existence as well. This was his end; after all his hard work, he had fallen to a Nobody.

 

Roxas stared down at his biggest enemy for a second longer before he turned around and walked away with the knowledge that he was losing his existence. He saw his friends a little bit away and continued toward them, though his eyes lowered to the dark ground he walked along. Smith was fading. Completely.

Riku watched Roxas turn his back on his foe, though his eyes turned to Smith as he started to fade away. How ironic, considering he was fading away much like a Nobody would.

 

Sora kept his eyes on Smith, seeing the man fading out of existence. He wouldn't be coming back this time; he was sure of it. After being defeated in the Realm of Darkness, where else could he go to live? Nowhere. Absolutely nowhere.

 

Roxas continued walking toward Namine and his friends, his lips still set in a firm line. He held his weapon securely at his side, though he had no reason to grasp it tighter. The only reason he would have to do that would be the person fading behind him. He wasn't even going to spare Smith one last glance; he'd seen too much of him lately anyway.

Kairi found the sight of Smith fading both relieving and also disturbing. Because of the latter, she turned her eyes to Roxas. He seemed to carry resolve with him now, something that could only be present because of who was dying in the distance.

 

Namine stepped out from behind Riku without thought, seeing Roxas approaching the group. Her feet carried her to him, the girl just wanting to be near him after everything that happened. She kept her eyes on him, seeing him just a few feet in front of her now.

 

Roxas looked up when he detected movement in front of him, his sight instantly falling on Namine. His hard expression seemed to lighten at the sight of her. He was so worried about her, and now she was okay. She was going to be okay for much longer now, the person that had tortured them for so long losing his existence permanently.

 

Namine wrapped her arms around Roxas when she reached him, not caring that he still held a Keyblade in his grasp as she brought herself close to him. She had been so scared, both for herself and for him. She hoped he was alright...

 

Roxas pressed his lips together when Namine hugged him, his body sore from the long battle. But he didn't release any sounds of pain, for her sake. He wrapped his left arm around her back from where he stood, his other arm at his side as he held Oblivion in his grasp. Roxas held her securely to his chest, not caring if the closeness brought him pain. He was holding Namine, and that was all that mattered.

Kairi found herself smiling slightly at the reunion of her friends. It had been easy to tell earlier how worried Namine had been about Roxas when they were captured, just as she had been about Sora. She was glad to see them together again, after such an intense and dark battle.

 

"You okay?" Namine asked softly, keeping her arms wrapped around Roxas's back and enjoying the feeling of his around her. She wasn't sure what kind of an answer she was expecting; Roxas was obviously hurt in battle, but she supposed that she hoped for him to say something more optimistic.

 

"I will be," Roxas said with a small nod, his hand resting lightly on the middle of Namine's back. He then moved his head toward her a little. "You?" She was his main concern. She appeared alright, and he would have to thank Riku later for getting her out of her restraints earlier. But he felt like he needed to know anyway.

 

Namine looked up at Roxas, nodding faintly. "I'm alright." A little sore from having the Hearless hold back her arms for so long, but that wasn't anything major. She was lucky; Smith hadn't hurt her much this time, except for when he slapped her or held her jaw firmly.

 

Roxas nodded once, looking down at Namine. He didn't need a better answer than that; it was enough after everything. As long as she was alive and in his arms like she was now, it was okay.

Riku had his eyes on Smith for the last few minutes, and he saw the man fade away completely as Roxas and Namine had their moment. But it seemed like something wasn't right. He stiffened slightly, sensing an overwhelming amount of Darkness. And it wasn't just because they were in that particular Realm...

 

"C'mon," Sora said, taking a few steps forward towards Roxas and Namine when he saw Riku tense. So I wasn't the only one sensing something wrong, he thought, tightening his grip on the Kingdom Key without thought.

Namine looked over her shoulder, seeing her friends coming towards her and Roxas. She slowly released him, a curious expression on her face. What was wrong?
