Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas felt Namine's grip loosen and he looked down at her. When he saw her expression, he stopped walking and furrowed his eyebrows. "Namine? What's wrong?" he said, concern immediately growing inside him and his protective side kicking in.

Kairi turned around at the words, stopping and causing Nathan to halt with her. She arched an eyebrow in curiosity, looking at her two blonde friends. Was there something the matter?

 

Namine stopped walking when Roxas did, the girl looking up without thought and meeting his eyes. She glanced at Jeff on the street corner but quickly looked back at Roxas, not wanting for Roxas to get upset. "I think...we should go home," she said softly. She thought about also saying she didn't feel good, and that would have been the truth. But her mouth felt too dry for her to say anything more.

 

"Why?" Roxas asked, that being his initial reaction to Namine's words. Why did she think they should go home? He briefly glanced over his shoulder to see what she had looked at before, then turning his head back to her. But that was when he immediately returned his sight to across the street, turning his body more in that direction as he peered at the street corner. Wait... Was that...?

Kairi was no longer attached to Nathan's arm when she approached her friends. "Namine? Roxas?" she said, looking at each of them. "What's going on?" She wondered why they stopped so abruptly, and she followed Roxas's sight across the street, but there were so many people that she couldn't figure out what he was looking at. She returned her gaze to him, curiosity evident in her eyes.

 

Namine bit her lip, not responding to Kairi's question. She knew that the name of that person infuriated Roxas, so she wasn't about to say it aloud. Instead, she looked to Roxas, lifting her other hand and setting it on the forearm of the arm that was still holding her hand.

Jeff folded his arms, waiting impatiently. Come on, come on! he thought, his muscles tense. He didn't like standing in the middle of that crowd; he just wanted to be with his friends. Why was this thing taking so long to change?

 

Roxas immediately recognized the guy, and he felt his anger already beginning to grow inside him. The boy didn't look at Namine as he reached with his free hand and lightly took her hand off his arm, at the same time releasing his grip on her hand. He knew the touch was meant to keep him calm, but it wouldn't work. Not this time. Roxas instantly began moving his feet, breaking into a run as he ran off the sidewalk and into halted traffic. He started maneuvering between taxis and other cars stuck at the stoplight, immediately getting honks for his movements.

Kairi's eyes widened and she followed Roxas's quick movements, stunned into silence. What... What was he doing?!

Nathan furrowed his eyebrows over his green eyes, watching Roxas suddenly run off. He was alarmed. What was going on?

 

"Roxas!" Namine called, eyes widening at his rashness. No...this can't be happening...not again. Why can't Jeff just disappear out of our lives?! She stood where she was, stunned and partially afraid to move forward. Roxas was already furious, just at the sight of Jeff. She couldn't imagine how much more angry he would be once he reached the bully.

Jeff turned his head at the honks, surprised but keeping a casual stance as he looked. His eyes widened when he saw the source: a blond teenager, running through them as they sat there. And it wasn't just any teen; it was...Roxas?! He quickly lowered his arms to his sides, his hands already in fists. What's he planning on doing?

 

Roxas ignored the honks, Namine's call, and all of the eyes he could feel on him now. He continued across the street, moving through the spaces between the stopped vehicles, his expression showing his anger; his eyebrows were furrowed over his piercing blue eyes, his lips set in a firm line. Jeff was done for as soon as he reached him.

Nathan took a few steps forward, seeing that Roxas glanced up at something. He followed his gaze before the blond watched where he was going again, catching sight of the street corner. He looked at the startled people's faces as they began to notice the kid running hastily across the street. What was Roxas doing?

 

Namine bit down hard on her lip, fearing that she would draw blood because of it. She saw that Jeff had noticed Roxas coming for him, but he wasn't running, not even backing up a few steps. The rest of the people on that corner, though, were moving a few steps away from that area, probably fearing Roxas would accidentally run into them and knock a bunch of them down. But if they had known what was really going to happen, then they would have been wise to have gone their separate directions all together, not just back up.

 

Roxas maneuvered through a few more cars before he finally reached the sidewalk on the other side of the street. His feet moved quickly, the blond having gained more speed over the course of the few months he had been gone. And who knew it would actually pay off? Roxas sprinted forward, seeing that the people on the street corner were frightened and backing up more as he grew closer, but he didn't pay attention to them, he only saw Jeff. Roxas noticed that the crowd was starting to part for his path, which led him straight to Jeff. He charged through the crowd, ramming into Jeff and knocking him off his feet, both falling to the ground.

Nathan's eyes widened at the sight, the cries and gasps from the people on the streets being heard. He didn't hesitate any longer, knowing Roxas's intentions now. He started darting across the street as well, moving quickly.

Kairi was in shock, and after a few seconds, she registered that Nathan was running toward Roxas and Jeff's positions. She had never actually seen Jeff before, but she knew by Roxas's reaction that it was definitely him.

 

Jeff grunted, feeling himself being pushed down to the ground. He thought of the item he had, but realized that it was neither damaged nor exposed due to the force Roxas put on him. He felt that he was under Roxas, and he knew that was the worst position he could have been in. Well, other than a choke-hold. He lifted one arm in defense and set his other hand on the ground to try and push himself up and get the angry boy off of him.

Namine lifted a hand to her forehead, covering her eyes as she wished she hadn't seen what had just happened. Not this again...she thought sadly, frozen in place. I can't believe this. Haven't we had enough trouble...?

 

Roxas sat up quickly, staying on top of Jeff. He wasn't even paying attention to the fact that people had given them a few feet of space, but were circled around them to witness the fight. Roxas's hand already formed a fist and he swung it forward to connect with Jeff's face, not caring if the guy was trying to get up or not.

Nathan dodged cars, which were still at a halt despite the fact that the light was green. He knew it was because of the scene unfolding now. He was almost to the other side, the cars making it difficult to reach the sidewalk quickly. Plus, Roxas was much faster.

 

Jeff furrowed his brows, feeling Roxas land a hard, solid blow. He lifted his own fist, swinging it at Roxas' shoulder so that he couldn't pin him to the ground anymore and he could get up. If Roxas wanted a fight, fine. But this time, Jeff was going to fight back. And he knew that by the end of it, Roxas would regret challenging him.

 

Roxas ground his teeth together, feeling Jeff's fist connect with his shoulder. It knocked him back and slightly off balance, and he winced slightly at the pain in his left shoulder now. He was off Jeff now, but that didn't stop Roxas from launching himself at Jeff again. If anybody wanted this fight to stop, they were going to have to pull Roxas off; he wasn't going to stop, not after all Jeff had put Namine through.

Nathan was thankful he had been forced to stay fit back at home, knowing that if something like this ever happened, he would be able to handle it. He reached the other side of the street and immediately started running toward the street corner, getting a glimpse of the fight because some people had finally moved out of the way.

Kairi could only stare at shock, her sight darting from Roxas to Nathan and then back again. Did Nathan think he could stop this? Roxas was very angry. It would surely be more difficult than he thought...

 

Jeff had just begun to sit up when he saw Roxas lung at him again, and he knew he couldn't move away fast enough. He lifted both his arms in self defense, feeling Roxas impact him once again. He could tell that the blond was furious at him, and he knew why that was. However, he didn't regret that, since he hated Roxas and Namine so much.

Namine lowered her hand after a few moments, opening her eyes to see Nathan nearing the scene. She stood frozen near Kairi, not sure what to do. She didn't really want to head over, but if Nathan was going to try and intervene, then he would surely need her to help Roxas calm down.

 

Roxas put one hand on Jeff's chest in his state of rage, the adrenaline pumping through him. He brought back his fist once more and threw it forward to strike Jeff again, in complete fury now.

Nathan slowed as he neared the crowd, just so he could push his way through. The people were pretty much frozen from shock, so he had to push a little bit.

Kairi saw that Nathan was trying to squeeze through the crowd and reach Roxas, and knowing that, she looked to Namine. She couldn't imagine how she must have been feeling. The girl's eyes darted back to the crowd across the street when she heard gasps.

 

Jeff saw the fist coming in again and he lifted an arm, his forearm pressing against Roxas' in an attempt to keep him away. It seemed to have been working, the teen not feeling a fist to his face at the moment he had expected it to come.

"We have to help," Namine said suddenly, her heart telling her that she had to go over. "Somehow." She turned her head and saw that it was a red light for the cars, so she walked quickly in front of them, receiving no honks because she was crossing the proper way.

 

Roxas's attack was blocked, but he didn't hesitate trying again. As he brought his other fist forward, a cry escaped him, but he never got to land the blow. Someone firmly gripped his arms and pulled him up from the ground. Roxas struggled against the grasp, sharply turning his head to look over his shoulder. Nathan.

"Roxas, calm down!" Nathan demanded firmly, but the boy only struggled more in his grasp. He pulled Roxas back more. "This doesn't solve anything!"

Kairi glanced at Namine and then back at the fight before following her friend's lead, crossing the street among the crosswalk. Namine said they needed to help, but what could they do?

 

"Hmph." Jeff set his hands on the ground and pushed himself up quickly, glancing at Roxas and then at the bystanders. He started running down the sidewalk, pushing through a large group to break free. Time for him to make his exit.

 

Roxas turned his head, eyes widening when he saw Jeff getting away. He gritted his teeth and started struggling again. "Nathan!" he roared. "Let go of me!" The guy was strong, yes, but Roxas had muscles of his own. He needed to get Nathan off of him.

"You need to calm down, Roxas!" Nathan said, not releasing the blond from his hold.

"This has nothing to do with you!" Roxas countered, his voice tight and loud with anger. He didn't care how much attention he was attracting. He just needed to go after Jeff!

 

"Roxas!" Namine cried, reaching the other side of the street at that moment. The people were already parted because of Nathan coming in through that area, so she had a clear view of the person she loved. He needed to calm down; he was positively enraged. It wasn't healthy, for Roxas or for anybody else involved in the situation.
