Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas's head turned at the cry, and he instantly locked eyes with Namine. He was sure that the anger and the darkness that was fueling his rage were easily expressed in his hard blue orbs. He gritted his teeth and squeezed his eyes shut as he struggled, needing to get out of Nathan's hold. Now. Especially with Namine showing up. "Let me go!" he roared, finally moving his arms and pushing Nathan off of him. Roxas didn't hesitate following Jeff's trail, pushing through the crowd and racing down the sidewalk in the direction the jock fled.

 

Jeff looked over his shoulder as he ran, seeing that Roxas was coming up. He knew this part of the city well, and it had plenty of alleyways. He would disappear into one of those, put his item there for safe keeping, and then meet Roxas. He was ready to fight; he was done playing coward with that stupid guy who held Namine's heart.

Namine stood frozen for a moment, seeing Roxas run off once again. She had seen that hatred in his eyes, knowing that it was directed towards Jeff. She stood there tensely, hoping that Roxas wouldn't do something he would regret later.

 

Roxas ran down the sidewalk, seeing Jeff a good distance ahead. He didn't care; he was going after him. He noticed that people parted and got out of the way as he raced down the street, the boy glad nobody was getting in his way.

Nathan looked after Roxas and then gazed at the girls. He gave Kairi a firm look and then took off after the blond. Somebody needed to stop him before he did something irrational. Roxas was really fired up, and it was dangerous.

Kairi watched Nathan run ahead and she glanced at Namine. "C'mon," she said, motioning with her head to follow Nathan before starting to run herself. Whatever was going on here, and whatever triggered all of this, it probably wouldn't end well.

 

Jeff kept running at the same pace, not having any issues with energy. He was in very good shape now, probably the strongest he had been his entire life. And that was good, considering what was happening now.

Namine nodded and started running right away, catching up to Kairi despite her friend's head start. Obviously none of them were going to sit back and let Roxas do this. Namine was the only one beside Roxas to know how badly Jeff deserved a beating, but she didn't want Roxas to fight him. She just wanted the drama to end.

 

Roxas continued running, and was surprised to hear footsteps behind him. He glanced over his shoulder and his eyes widened slightly at the sight of Kairi's boyfriend. "I said this doesn't involve you!" he cried. "Get out of here!"

Nathan only sped up a little more, but he was still a few feet behind Roxas. "No! This isn't the way to handle anything!" he said.

"You don't know anything!" Roxas countered tightly, glancing forward again to make sure he still had Jeff in his sights. "Now back off!"

 

Jeff glanced over his shoulder as he ran, hearing that Roxas was distracted. He didn't know who the other guy was, but he didn't care. If he wanted to keep Roxas occupied for a minute, then that was fine. Jeff had something he needed to do before he faced the blond, anyway.

Namine ran, trying to catch up. The boys were fast, but she wasn't too slow on her feet, either. She kept her eyes on them, worried eyes mostly staying on Roxas. She was afraid he was losing himself to his anger, and she didn't know if she could handle seeing that.

 

"Forget it!" Nathan called, keeping up with Roxas's pace. "I'm not the only one who doesn't want you to do this!"

Roxas glanced back at Nathan at the words, and then looked behind him, seeing Kairi and Namine not far off. He ground his teeth together and watched where he was going again, Jeff still ahead of him. "It's called vengeance!" he hollered, not caring who heard him. "Now you can either back off or help me. Hurry up and decide!"

Kairi ran next to Namine, hearing some of the conversation going on ahead of her. Roxas really was mad; she could see it when he glanced back at them. His anger was controlling him now, and it was bad.

 

Namine bit down on her lip, eyes sad at Roxas' shout. He only wants vengeance because of me, she thought sorrowfully. If Jeff had never hurt me, none of this would be happening. She couldn't help but feel guilty over it, even if she knew that everything was out of her control.

 

Nathan furrowed his brows over his green eyes, staring at the boy running in front of him. Vengeance? It didn't seem right to help with Roxas's revenge, but it was either help and make sure he didn't go too far with his choices, or leave him to act irrationally and beyond control.

Roxas continued running, not hearing a response and not really caring. His eyes were set on Jeff, wondering just where he was running off to. It didn't really matter, though. Roxas was going to follow.

 

Jeff turned down one alley and ran down through it, coming out on the other side of the street. Once he was through, he made a left and kept running in that direction, the sidewalks empty except for a few people. He wasn't trying to get away from Roxas; he only needed ten seconds. Then he would be ready to fight.

 

Roxas saw Jeff turn at one point, and he realized then how far behind he was. It didn't matter, because he wasn't going to let distance get in the way. He slowed down to take the turn, but not nearly quick enough. Roxas's feet slid and he slipped a little, but he caught himself and recovered. He pushed himself back up on his feet, continuing the pursuit and knowing the others were right behind.

Nathan followed Roxas, making a decision. "What do you want me to do?" he said, then glancing back to make sure Kairi and Namine were still with them. Roxas wanted his help? Fine, but he would step in if need be.

 

Namine heard Nathan speak, and the next breath she exhaled was one of relief. This could get dangerous, so maybe Roxas wanted a hand in the fight. That was the only thing that she could think of him wanting, but she could have been wrong.

 

"Just follow me!" Roxas called over his shoulder, running through the alley. Once he reached the other side, he came to a quick stop, eyes darting left and right. He didn't notice, but it gave Nathan and the girls a chance to get closer. However, when Roxas spotted Jeff running down the sidewalk a good distance ahead, he took off into another sprint.

 

Jeff kept running forward, having thought he heard Roxas' faint voice behind him. Soon, he would turn into an alley and do what he had to do. Then, if and when Roxas decided to catch up, they would have a fight. Despite all their negative encounters, this would be their first real struggle.

 

Nathan instantly started running after Roxas, following as he had been the last couple minutes. He was glad Kairi was closer now, as well as Namine, that way they had a better chance of not only knowing what was happening, but also that they wouldn't have as high of a chance of getting hurt without one of the guys knowing.

Kairi was glad she went on runs every other morning. It was definitely helping her keep up with Roxas's fast pace. Even as they ran, she wondered how Namine was feeling. Not good, she knew.

 

Namine kept running, keeping her pace equal with Kairi's. She was glad that Ty often gave her a work out, along with her usual habits of eating healthy and remaining fit. She had hoped she would never have to be running under circumstances like this, but obviously that hadn't worked out in her favor. These days, not much did.

 

Roxas continued his pursuit, his breathing ragged due to the past few minutes of running, even if he was in better shape than before he left with Sora. Fighting the Heartless had definitely made him stronger and more fit, and he was sure it showed in just his appearance. Right now, he felt stronger. His adrenaline helped, along with the rage pulsing through him. It made him feel more powerful, and he was sure that wasn't going to disappoint him soon.

 

Jeff turned into an alleyway, slowing his run to a jog and then coming to a stop near the center of the area. He had a minute until Roxas came closer to this area, and that gave him time to take care of a bit of business. His boys were probably worried because he wasn't there, but whatever. He'd tell them about it once he got done kicking Roxas' butt in a brawl.

 

Roxas couldn't help how angry he was. Just the sight of Jeff sent him into a fury. After all he had done to him, to Namine, to their relationship and to their lives... Enough was enough, and Roxas knew that because of his darker personality, he wasn't going to be able to stop himself if things got bad. He didn't care what happened to him; he just wanted Jeff to get the point and leave Namine alone, once and for all.

 

Namine looked ahead of her, but the only person she could see running in front of her, Kairi, and Nathan was Roxas. She felt confused, but grateful at the same time. Where did Jeff go? Was he gone for good? She was hopefully that was the case, but at the same time, she doubt it was the reality.
