Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Roxas pushed himself up from the ground and ran toward Jeff again, bringing his fist back to connect with the jock's jaw. His vengeance, it was nearly complete.

 

Jeff looked just in time to see a fist flying at him, and he had no time at all to prepare a defense. He felt it hit his jaw hard, knocking him down into a group of trashcans next to the wall. A loud clamoring noise resulted, snapping him out of the daze he had briefly experienced because of the hard blows. Time for me to end this. My way.

 

Roxas watched the bully fall, a look of pure hatred on his face. He didn't care what happened to Jeff anymore, just as long as he left Namine alone. "Done yet?" he said, voice tight and dark with rage. He was still mad, and wanted to know if Jeff had had enough. If not, fine. Roxas would keep going.

Kairi still had her hand over her mouth as she watched the scene unfold before her. She never realized how scary Roxas was when he was angry, but she knew he was doing it to teach this guy a lesson. He was terrible to Namine and Roxas.

 

Jeff reached behind one of the trash cans, his hand finding the item he had been carrying earlier. He pulled out the hand gun and held it in his hand, pointing it at Roxas despite the fact that the safety was still on. "Are you?" he asked darkly, staring him down as he rose to his feet.

Namine's eyes widened, a gasp leaving her lips when she caught a glimpse of the weapon in Jeff's hand. She didn't know what to think about this, it was so unexpected. How had Jeff managed to get a hold of a gun?!

 

Roxas's eyes widened, and he slowly started stepping back and away from Jeff. He eyed the gun with alarmed eyes, but looked back up at Jeff with hatred. How Jeff had managed to get a gun was beyond him, but Roxas thought it was cowardly of him to pull it out, rather than have a fair fight.

Nathan's eyes widened at the sight of the gun, and he instantly grabbed onto Kairi and started backing toward the opening in the alley. No way was he going to have her around a gun.

Kairi gasped at the sight of the gun, and when she was suddenly pulled back. Her wide eyes left Jeff to look up at Nathan, who was pulling her toward the sidewalk. She looked back at her friends, knowing that because Jeff's back was to them and he was facing Namine and Roxas, the two blondes weren't going to be able to escape as easily. When Nathan pulled her around the corner, Kairi almost rejected. She didn't want her friends left there!

 

"I wasn't going to use this," Jeff said, looking from Roxas to Namine as he spoke. After a second he looked back at Roxas, taking the safety off the silenced gun as he spoke. "But now I will. I've had it with you two." No matter what tricks he played or how much he egged them on, they never gave in to him. That infuriated him more than anything else in the world could have.

Namine took a step back initially at the sight of the gun, but when he started speaking and taking off the safety, she found herself frozen. He was going to kill them!? Didn't he know how badly this would mess up his life? Once he did this, there would be no turning back. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that Nathan and Kairi were gone, and she was glad.

 

Roxas felt more rage toward Jeff after he was done speaking, and the blond found his voice. "Remember that you started this, Jeff," he said. "Every single problem was because of you. You brought this upon yourself." Roxas knew how it felt, but Jeff was worse. The guy obsessed over Namine one day in the park and chased her to an alley, and it now ended up in a similar situation.

 

"Shut up, Roxas!" Jeff hollered, pointing the gun at him. "You're not always right, you know?!" His anger and frustration was getting the better of him, causing him to act irrational. But he didn't care anymore; he was done dealing with Roxas and Namine. In just a minute, it would all be over.

Namine's eyes widened, the girl feeling frightened by Jeff's anger. He held a dangerous weapon in his hand, and there was no way to outrun a bullet. They were in serious trouble, and she didn't see how they were getting out of this one. Her eyes wandered to Roxas without thought, seeing that he was standing closer to Jeff, so his back was mostly turned to her.

 

Roxas took a small step back, slowly getting farther from Jeff. His eyes fell on the gun again and he felt his heart beating rapidly in his chest. When his eyes darted back up to Jeff, he felt his hatred inside. But, he also felt a bit of fear. Not for himself, but for Namine. Roxas didn't want anything happening to her, and he would put himself in front of the bullet if it came to that. He didn't care what happened to him, as long as Namine got out of this alive.

 

"Yeah, now you back away," Jeff said, rolling his eyes. "Scared, Roxas?" The taunt came out sounding so serious and dark that it was obvious that he meant business. As soon as he got his answer, he would finish this. Permanently.

Namine had her hands in tight fists by her side, fear in her eyes. Jeff wasn't kidding around here; he had a weapon, and he was about to use it. The fear of the unknown made Namine's heart beat more widely in her chest, the girl looking at Jeff instead of Roxas now.

 

"Yeah. I am," Roxas answered honestly, tensing as he stared at Jeff. He took another small slow step back, acting cautious. He may have gone all out on Jeff before, but he wasn't an idiot; he wasn't going to lash out at someone with a gun. The blond wanted to look at Namine one more time if he was going to die, but he couldn't take his eyes away from Jeff. If he did, it was over.

 

Jeff felt a slight smirk tug at his lips when he heard Roxas' response. "Good," he said, staring at Roxas for a brief second. But then he shifted the aim of his gun to the girl standing behind him and to the side a little, pulling the trigger immediately and sending a silenced bullet at her.

Namine's eyes widened when she saw she was the new target, and she registered the danger quickly enough to lift her arms in defense, though that wouldn't do any good now that a bullet was flying at her. She didn't even have time to think, but she knew in her gut that she was about to die.

 

What Roxas did next was entirely instinct, and it happened in the blink of an eye. He heard the contact the bullet made with the metal, his eyes having squeezed shut when he darted in front of Namine. His heart was racing in his chest and he opened his eyes, aware that he was standing in front of Namine with the two blades in his hands. Oblivion and Oathkeeper. A new surge of determination and rage formed inside Roxas as he glared at Jeff, lowering the blades to his sides.

 

Namine opened her eyes after a few seconds, hearing the bullet get stopped and the girl not feeling any pain. She saw Roxas in front of her, holding two weapons in his hands. A ragged breath left her lips, her eyes wide with surprise and relief that she was still alive.

Jeff's eyes widened in shock, the teen taking a few steps back until he found himself amongst the trash cans. He lowered his gun, dropping it into an open trashcan without thought. "What...?" What he said matched his thoughts, the teen completely baffled at the sight before him.

 

Roxas stared at Jeff with hard eyes, gripping his trusty blades tightly. "Tell me, Jeff. Are you scared?" he said, voice still dark. It was a big risk letting Jeff see the truth, but it had to be done to save Namine. There was no other way around it, and Roxas would accept the consequences.

 

Jeff stared at Roxas with wide eyes, finding that he couldn't back away any further. He was petrified, and his expression showed that. "What...are...?" He had little success formulating a sentence, verbally or in his mind. What were those things?

Namine lifted a hand to her mouth, biting down hard on her lip as she began to tremble. She had just looked death in the eye and managed to walk away unscathed. The shock of being shot at was enough to bring up all the crazy emotions in her heart, her blue eyes becoming moist and filled with countless, unidentifiable feelings.

 

Roxas lifted the blades slightly, looking from Jeff's awestruck expression down to them. "These are weapons that are more powerful than a gun," he said, his piercing eyes finding Jeff again. "They help me defend the ones I love from harm, and from creeps like you." The words were like venom as they left his mouth, which tasted of blood. Roxas's eyebrows furrowed as he glared at the teen across from him. "They come whenever I call, and there was no way I was going to let you hurt Namine. Not a chance."

 

Jeff set a hand on the lid of a trash can beside him, eyes wide with everything Roxas was telling him. He couldn't take his eyes off those...weapons, as Roxas called them. They were more powerful than a gun? They were available to him whenever he called? Jeff was seriously freaked out by all this, somehow hoping it was a nightmare but knowing that it was actually reality.

Namine took in a shaky breath at the mention of her name, lifting her sights to Roxas despite the fact that she couldn't see his face. She brought her other hand up and folded both her hands together in front of her lips, trembling from head to foot in shock from what happened and what was still happening.

 

Roxas absently twirled Oathkeeper around in his hand, remaining still. "You'd be surprised with what I can do with these when it comes to protecting her," he said. "You saw what just happened, didn't you?" Roxas smirked slightly at Jeff, knowing that he didn't need an answer. "A bullet travels hundreds of feet per second. I got here in time, and these blades appeared in my hands before the bullet even reached Namine. What do you think about that, Jeff?"

 

Jeff stood where he was only because he couldn't move anywhere else. I think that's crazy! he thought, eyes showing wonder, disbelief, and fear at the same time. This kind of stuff doesn't exist in real life! He looked at Roxas with horror in his eyes, along with a million other things. He had never been scared of Roxas before, but now he was terrified.
