Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

"C'mon, I'll go with you," Roxas said then, smiling in amusement at Namine's tiredness. She needed sleep, that was obvious. And he wasn't going to stop bugging her until she got to her bed. She knew how persistent he could be.

 

Namine kept her head on Roxas' knee, her eyes remaining shut. "Go where?" she mumbled, her voice coherent but soft and tired. She didn't understand what Roxas meant by what he said, probably because her exhaustion was too heavy.

 

Roxas chuckled softly. "To your room, of course," he answered. He took his hand off her head and put it on Ty's instead, scratching the dog so he wouldn't bother Namine. "What do you say?" He was feeling better, and he was sure that was obvious by his attitude. He wanted her to feel the same, and one of the best ways was for her to get some rest.

 

Namine turned her head slightly against his knee, a soft sigh leaving her lips. "You're not gonna give me any peace until I go to bed, aren't you?" she mumbled, a tiny hint of amusement in her tired voice. He was being persistent, as always. Even in her groggy state, she could tell he wasn't going to let this drop.

 

"Nope," Roxas said, shaking his head a little. He glanced at Ty, who was still panting as he rubbed behind his ears. Roxas had his rest, and it was enough for now. It was Namine's turn.

 

Namine exhaled a breath from her nose, not having the strength to think up a response to give to Roxas. She had been feeling like she would pass out for a while now, and it was almost overwhelming her now. Her body was crying for her to get some rest, but she was still refusing to go under.

 

After a short period of silence, Roxas looked over at her again. "Nam?" If she didn't go to her bed, he assumed she would fall asleep right there on the floor. Of course, he would volunteer to sit on the ground if she wanted the couch. But he would like her to sleep in her bed and get the best comfort that was available.

 

"Mm?" Namine hummed, nearly unconscious. She felt as if she couldn't move at all, and she knew that Roxas called to her for that purpose. She was uncomfortable on the ground, but she was far too tired to move, let alone get up and walk to her room.

 

Roxas patted Ty on the head and pushed himself up from the couch. He stepped over toward Namine and leaned over, reaching and grabbing her upper arm gently. "C'mon, Namine. Let's go," he said softly. "I'll help you get to bed."

 

Namine forced her eyes open halfway, sensing Roxas in front of her. "I don't wanna," she murmured again, though the protest was weak. She exhaled a breath, shutting her eyes. "I wanna be with you," she said softly, giving in to Roxas' idea of sleep. She couldn't avoid it, but she at least wanted him nearby.

 

Roxas smiled warmly at the girl, his face a little higher than hers as he looked down at her. "I'll stay," he promised softly. "As long as you get some rest, I'll stay with you, okay?" Bargaining would be fair, since they each got something out of it; she would get some sleep and he would stay with her.

 

Namine felt like a child, being negotiated with in order for her to go to bed. But she couldn't refuse Roxas' offer, since it was what she wanted and what she needed at the same time. "'Kay," she murmured, giving into Roxas' persistence.

 

"Okay. Come on," Roxas said then, still having a gentle grasp on her arm. He was going to help her get to bed and then he'd stay with her, like he promised.

 

Namine set her free hand on the ground and set her feet on the carpet, starting to push herself up. She felt unsteady at first when she was doing it, but then she felt Ty also giving her a hand, standing behind her and keeping her balanced so she didn't sway backwards and fall onto the couch.

 

Roxas secured his grip around Namine's arm and helped her up as well, leaning back and straightening himself. Yup, she was exhausted. It was written all over her face and seen through her actions. Good thing she was going to bed.

 

Namine had opened her eyes when she was pushing herself up, and though they were still open, they were lowered to the ground, the girl too tired to look up. She was very tired, and she figured that the only reason she could stand was because she knew that once she was asleep in her bed, Roxas would be there with her.

 

Once Namine was standing Roxas put his free hand on her shoulder to make sure she was steady. He was glad his injuries weren't bothering him right now; this would be much more difficult if they were.

 

Namine felt Ty withdraw himself at the same point when Roxas set a hand on her shoulder, and it was slightly amusing that the two of them seemed to have been working together. My two favorite boys, she thought weakly, a small pang of happiness impacting her heart at the thought of her bond with both Roxas and Ty.

 

Roxas hesitantly took his hand off Namine's shoulder, making sure she was indeed steady on her feet. He then turned a little, keeping his grasp on her arm as his other hand rested lightly on her back to direct her. "Alright, let's go," he told her softly.

 

Namine glanced at Roxas, feeling his hand lightly on her back. Her gaze went back down to the ground as she started forward, forcing herself to move. The quicker she made it to bed, the sooner she could get off her feet.
