Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return V2

Kairi put on her shoes and coat and looked back at the two blondes. "Have fun, you two," she said. She sent a wink of good luck toward Roxas before disappearing out the back door, leaving him and Namine to their evening.

Roxas watched Kairi go and then turned his sight back to the blonde girl across the room. He smiled warmly and walked toward her, his eyes taking in her appearance once more. She was stunning, as always. Roxas stopped in front of Namine and offered his arm. "Shall we?" he said, looking down at her.

 

Namine looked to the back door when Kairi left, her eyes showing her surprise. She was leaving? Just like that? And then Roxas came over and offered her his arm? As confused as she was, her hand managed to find his arm. She looked up at him and looked at him, her eyes expressing her questions.

 

Roxas's eyes read Namine's easily, and he chuckled softly. "I'll explain, but first you'll have to see," he said with a kind smile. The dinner came out well for him thanks to the recipe Kairi loaned him, and now he had to show her what was waiting for her. She deserved it, all of it.

 

Namine's eyes softened, some of her confusion and uneasiness disappearing. She still had no clue what was going on, but Roxas would answer that soon enough. She gave him a faint nod, a weak smile forming on her lips. Whatever was going on, she trusted Roxas to make things more clear for her.

 

Roxas looked down at Namine for a moment longer before walking out of the living room, leading her to their destination. Their "date" was in the living room, and that was where he was going. Hopefully she would enjoy it.

 

Namine blinked, a new question popping into her mind. "Where's Ty?" she asked, amazed that her hyper dog was nowhere in sight. With all the excitement going on, she was shocked he wasn't pacing by their feet and trying to trip them.

 

Roxas's smile grew at the thought of the dog. "I hoped you would ask," he said. He directed their walk toward the kitchen and they walked through the doorway after a moment. Roxas then came to a halt. There, Ty was revealed, costume and all.

 

Namine stopped when Roxas did, her eyes widening when she set sight on her loyal pet. Ty sat in front of a plate of dog food, which was laid out in a formal way. Not only that, but there was edible silverware on both sides of the plate, and the dog himself was wearing a bib. Namine started laughing a second after the surprise, unable to hold back her sign of amusement.

 

Roxas felt his lips stretch into a grin as he looked at Namine, then switching his sight to Ty. The dog was wagging his tail and the blond boy was happy that Namine found it amusing. He'd found the stuff yesterday, when he was on a walk after he talked to Kairi. Ty was important to Namine, so he figured including him in some way would make the night a bit more entertaining.

 

Namine brought a hand to her lips, laughing as she looked at her loyal pet. He gave her look that seemed to say, see the kind of stuff I do for the sake of comedy? The girl couldn't help but smile at Ty, seeing how adorable he was at that time. How did Roxas manage to keep that bib on him? This is just too funny!

 

Roxas reached into his pocket with his free hand and pulled out a small, bite-size bone. He tossed the treat to Ty, who caught it without moving in his mouth. Good boy, Roxas thought, his smile softening. Ty was a trooper, that was for sure. But he had his dinner in front of him as well, so now it was time for Roxas and Namine to enjoy their own.

 

Namine's laughter softened, seeing Roxas through Ty a bone out of the corner of her eye. She shifted her gaze to the boy beside her, seeing the side of his face. He looked amused as well, but at the same time, it looked as if there were something else on his mind. Her smile turned gentler, even though she had no clue what was going on.

 

Roxas felt a pair of eyes on him and he turned his head to gaze into them. He looked at Namine for a moment, taking in her soft expression. "Come with me," he encouraged her, aware that she still had her hand on his arm. He turned with her, knowing it was time to escort her to her own meal.

 

Namine followed Roxas' lead, her hand remaining on his arm. She heard Ty begin eating his food right after they turned away, and she couldn't help but smile. She didn't know how Roxas got him to submit to him and not devour that food right away, but then again, there were a lot of things she didn't know at that time.

 

Roxas led Namine from the kitchen and through the next doorway, to the dining room. The meal was perfectly set, the candles still burning and providing a warmth to the room. The secret was revealed; tonight was a date night, a candlelight dinner for two.

 

Namine stopped when they entered the room, the girl blinking in surprise. Whatever she had been expecting, it certainly hadn't been this. A candlelight dinner? How did Roxas manage to pull that off? The wheels started turning in her head, and she realized Roxas must have been in her home for a while, preparing a meal and getting Ty set up. And he must have asked Kairi to keep her out of the house so that he could do it. It was all starting to fit together, and Namine felt reassured now that she knew about this conspiracy.

 

Roxas turned his head to look at the girl on his arm, a kind smile on his face. "Surprise," he told her gently. He studied her expression, and decided that it was a good one. She responded well to everything else; he knew that even Namine, who didn't like surprises, would enjoy this.

 

Namine turned to look over at Roxas, her eyes showing her realization. Yes, it most certainly was a surprise. But even more than that... "You two set me up," she said, in awe. "Was this your idea?" Her voice didn't hold anger or any other bad emotion, just curiosity and surprise mixed together.

 

"Yup," Roxas said with a small nod. His smile spread into a triumphant grin, the boy thinking of how well things turned out. Kairi had done a good job at keeping Namine busy throughout the afternoon. It all had worked out successfully.

 

Namine shook her head in disbelief, a smile tugging at her lips. "I can't believe you two pulled this off." Really, she hadn't suspected a thing. She may have noticed Kairi acting a little weird at some points, but she had never thought that there could have been a big reason for it.
