Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora saw the fireballs coming and he dodge-rolled out of the way, skillfully avoiding all but one of them. When the last one came towards him, he deflected it with his Keyblade, sending it back at Riku.

 

Riku's eyes widened, but he didn't have any more time than that to react. He felt the fireball impact his chest and he winced. He lifted his hand to his chest at the pain, lifting his eyes back to Sora.

 

Sora furrowed his brows, staying in a battle stance but not making a move to attack. Riku must have really been off his game to get hit this early on in the fight. It surprised Sora, keeping him from attacking for a moment.

 

Riku growled slightly and brought his right arm back, flinging Way to Dawn in Sora's direction. Immediately after the blade left his hand he summoned the power of Dark Aura again, repeating his attack from earlier. More fireballs shot out this time, heading for Sora's position.

 

Sora's eyes widened and he lifted the Keyblade, deflecting Way To Dawn. But once the blade was knocked to the ground, Sora realized that he had fallen for the diversion. He lifted his Keyblade again in defense, the weapon blocking a few fireballs. He winced when he felt one knock him in the knee, and then then another in his shoulder when he fell to his knee in pain.

 

Fueled by his anger, Riku didn't stop. He ran toward Sora and as he did so, he summoned Way to Dawn back to him. In the midst of his charge he leaped into the air, a battle cry leaving his throat as he swung down on Sora. Even if on the outside all that was visible was anger and disgust, on the inside he truly hoped this fight would wake Sora up, and let him realize that things weren't as they seemed.

 

Sora rolled out of the way at the last minute, getting back onto his feet with the skill of a true Keyblade Master. He gathered his strength and sent an electrical current through the Keyblade before chucking it at Riku, a grunt leaving him at the action. This was a trick he learned here in the castle. He wondered if Riku would recall it from their fights.

 

Riku turned his head in the direction Sora went, but didn't get any farther than that before his friend's Keyblade struck him. A sharp cry left his throat at the pain that came with it, the boy feeling like an electric current was traveling through his body. What...is this? he thought amidst the pain.

 

Sora's move wasn't complete, though. Once the blade was past Riku, it spun through the air and came back in the direction it back from. In order to get back to Sora, it had to go through his enemies again. That was what made it a very useful move in the field; the opponent didn't expect two hits so rapidly.

 

The pain subsided, and Riku gasped for air. However, little did he know that the blade was coming back. It struck him in the opposite side, making another long, painful cry leave his lips until he fell to one knee. After the Keyblade passed by him, he winced, both of his sides feeling like they were burning.

 

Sora felt the blade land back in his hand, and he didn't react to Riku's cry. You were asking for it, Riku, he thought, believing that he was the one acting logically. Time to knock some sense into your head. He set his footing and ran forward, not letting up.

 

Riku turned his head slightly, gripping at one of his sides. He saw Sora coming at him, and he realized one thing: Sora had gotten faster. Riku had only one maneuver to use, and it didn't require a lift of his blade. Dark Aura, he called silently, and the blue shield appeared on the side Sora was coming at instantly.

 

Sora had been in the middle of a swing the the shield came out of nowhere, blocking the blow. The force that had been behind his own blow forced him to take a few steps back, the impact knocking him off balance.

 

Riku sucked up the pain like he'd done for the past two years; this was no time to be weak. He pushed himself up from the ground and swung at Sora simultaneously, a grunt leaving his throat.

 

Sora lifted his blade to block the blow, but the tip of his blade was caught underneath Riku's, being pressed down to the ground. Sora grunted and tried to pull it out. Any other time, he would have summoned a second blade, but for some reason, he wasn't able to do that in Castle Oblivion.

 

Due to his blade holding down Sora's, Riku did something he never would have dreamed of doing to his childhood friend. Using the position of his blade for balance, he pressed against it and kept his grip on the hilt while his legs lifted from the ground, the boy spinning and swinging his feet at Sora's upper torso and head.

 

Sora's eyes widened, aware that he was in the worst position possible at that moment. He clenched his eyes shut and felt the kick to his head first, and then a second foot on his wounded shoulder, sending him back through the air a few feet. He rolled on the ground a few times before he came to a stop, a soft groan leaving his lips.

 

Riku landed smoothly on his feet, crouched slightly. He lifted his head to see Sora a few feet away, and he straightened. He inwardly winced at his friend's groan, thinking one word: Sorry. But his expression was still firm and unfriendly, showing how truly angered Riku was.

 

Sora shook his head and summoned the Kingdom Key back into his hand, stabbing it into the ground as he forced himself back up to his feet. He winced and brought up his left hand to his head, the pain making his head spin. But when things tilted back to normal, his eyes landed on Riku again. The pain in his eyes was replaced with anger as he let out a battle cry, charging forward.

 

Riku ground his teeth together and positioned himself, his arm pulled back into his stance. He was going to prepare for this attack as much as he could, because the rage in Sora's eyes was nothing he could miss. Riku held his ground, adrenaline pumping through his veins.
