Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine stayed in her position, a silent, calm breath leaving her lips. No more memories were coming to her now, but strangely, she was alright with it. She had a lot to absorb from the previous night's dreams. The first dream she had was a nightmare, but then, once she was with Roxas, she dreamed of him. It created a few questions, but it answered a bunch she had already been thinking.

 

Roxas lifted his free hand, too tired to acknowledge the other one was actually taken, and rubbed it over his eyes. He blinked a few times, staring ahead of him and shaking his head slightly to wake up. Blinking a few more times, the boy looked down to find the source of the warmth on his stomach. Roxas's eyes gazed at the arm for a moment before he followed it to the figure that was against him, his sight locking onto Namine's blonde hair. A smile immediately came to his face.

 

Namine took in another breath, starting to come out of her slumber. She thought she felt some movement nearby, but that wasn't what was waking her up. In a way, she wanted to face reality. To tell Roxas she remembered something significant.

 

Roxas gazed at the girl for a moment before his sight fell on another figure in the room--Ty, who was still laying down right in front of the couch. Roxas couldn't tell if the dog was awake or not, but he didn't mind either way. The silence was peaceful, but he knew it would come to an end sometime.

 

Namine inhaled deeply and then exhaled, the breath coming out as a sigh. She subconsciously snuggled her head deeper into Roxas' shoulder, her arm also tightening slightly around his stomach. She was starting to wake up and come out of the place where dreams were actually returning memories.

 

Roxas's eyes found Namine again at the small movements, a smile gracing his lips once more. It faded slowly as he rested his head back against the couch again, closing his eyes. Man, he didn't want to ruin this moment--it was peaceful, and relaxing. A part of him knew it had to go sometime, but another part of him wanted it to stay.

 

Namine slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times to grow accustomed to the new lighting. She was pleased when she realized that she had slept through the night without any further nightmares or disturbances. Not only that, but she was glad that the storm was over.

 

Roxas took in a deep breath and let it out as soft sigh, keeping his position. Behind his eyelids, he could see the warm glow the sun was making on his face. It warmed him, but the way he was holding Namine and the way she was holding him--that warmed his heart.

 

Namine felt a warm arm around her, and she turned her head upward slightly to see Roxas. She smiled weakly, pulling her arm back slowly. She wasn't sure if he was awake or asleep, so she was going to act like it was the latter. She carefully started to sit herself up more, but she made sure to keep Roxas' arm around her.

 

The small movements caught Roxas's attention, the boy peeking an eye open and glancing out of the corner of it. He saw Namine looking at him, and he opened his eyes fully, blinking a few times as his sight focused on her. He noticed the small smile on her face, which automatically made one appear on his.

 

Namine slowly brought her eyes back up to Roxas, feeling a soft gaze resting on her. She was a little surprised at first, but the feeling quickly disappeared. A small smile stayed on her lips, her eyes locking with his.

 

Roxas gazed into Namine's eyes. "Good morning," he greeted softly. He remembered always thinking the days started out wonderful when he used to wake up like this, with Namine next to him.

 

Namine blinked once, holding Roxas' soft gaze. "Good morning," she said softly, a small smile staying on her lips. Gosh, she had a lot to say to him. She didn't even know where to start...

 

Roxas's smile grew a little. "Sleep well?" he asked softly. After her nightmare last night, of course he was curious as to how she slept over the night.

 

Namine nodded slightly. "Mmhmm," she responded. She decided she would let the conversation go on until she found a good place to say what she remembered. She was sure Roxas would be pleased about it...but, he would have been even more pleased if she remembered everything. Unfortunately, though, that didn't happen. But at least she remembered something really important.

 

Roxas's smile grew in both relief and happiness. "That's good to hear," he replied gently, looking Namine in the eyes. Her bangs were blocking his view of those beautiful blue orbs, so he lifted his free hand and lightly brushed them away. His fingertips glided over her forehead until he silently took his hand back. There, now he could look into Namine's eyes perfectly.

 

Namine's soft smile widened at Roxas' movement. Okay, tell him now, she thought. Roxas had a right to know what she remembered, after all. "Um," she started, blushing slightly in shyness. Just say it, she told herself. "I remembered a few things last night..."

 

This news definitely woke Roxas up more. "Really?" he asked, his bright eyes widening. "Namine, that's great!" His smile grew into a small grin, the boy positively happy to hear such good news. Finally, she was beginning to remember more. Maybe the process wouldn't take as long as he thought...

 

Namine's small smile widened, Roxas' happiness contagious. "Yeah," she said in agreement. "I...I'm just confused about one thing, though..."

 

Roxas's smile faded as his curiosity took over. "Yeah? What's that?" The look on Namine's face made it clear that something was questionable for her. He couldn't help but wonder what it was. Hopefully nothing too serious.
