Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine re-entered the living room, only getting a few steps in before her loyal companion rushed over to her and ran into her legs, nearly knocking her over. Namine giggled at Ty; sometimes he forgot how much power he had and when he was overexcited, he was bound to knock somebody over. It was amusing for the most part, as long as it was a soft landing.

 

Roxas rested his elbows on his knees, looking over at the two. He smiled in amusement, his heart skipping a beat at the sound of Namine's laughter. He wished there was something he could do to make her do that, but he guessed Ty had the natural ability.

 

Namine knelt down next to the dog, whose tail was still wagging at a fast pace. "You ready to go home, boy?" she asked, cooing at the dog without thought. It was funny how people always changed their voices when talking to a pet. Namine did that a lot of the time without even realizing it.

 

Roxas turned his head away slightly, chuckling softly to himself. That voice... It always made him smile or release a few chuckles--but in a good way. He guessed he did it too, but he had heard other people at the park; their voices would go up a few pitches, which made it humorous in his eyes.

 

Namine turned her head slightly, hearing Roxas chuckling softly. She immediately realized why he was laughing and smiled. "I did again, didn't I?" she mused aloud. The voice change was something she tried to control, but talking to her pet like that just came naturally. Oh well, it really wasn't something that bothered her; it was a quirk that she had no problem with.

 

Roxas flicked his eyes toward the girl, nodding as he took control of his laughter. A small grin took place instead, Namine's gaze holding Roxas. He kept his position on the couch, elbows on his knees and hands clasped together as he looked at her and her loyal pet.

 

Namine saw the look on Roxas' face and couldn't help but widen her smile. He was...adorable. She could see why she dated him before. And why she still wanted to. She shook her head slightly, coming back to the matter at hand. "Oh well," she said with a shrug. "I don't think that's one habit I'll ever kick."

 

Roxas's smile softened some, and he shook his head. "You shouldn't," he commented simply. He found it...cute, the way she talked to Ty. It was one of those small things he came to love about her over the last few months, ever since the dog ever came into her life.

 

Namine's smile softened slightly as well. She found Roxas' comment really sweet. She didn't know exactly what he meant by it, but she understood that in a way, he was complimenting her voice. He'd never say anything nasty. She may have not known him extremely well, but she could tell that he was a genuinely kind person.

 

Roxas kept eye contact with Namine for a few more seconds, just smiling at her. But then he began to feel his cheeks warm, and so he looked away. He let out one shy chuckle, grinning slightly again, before his bright orbs located the girl near the doorway once more.

 

Namine felt as shy as Roxas did, so she turned to face her dog again. Her smile faded slightly, but her cheeks remained a little pink. "I really should go," she said softly. If it weren't for her concern for Ty, she wouldn't be in such a rush. But she had to take care of him before she could relax again.

 

Roxas's smile softened a little as he nodded. "Okay." He pushed himself up from the couch. He then lifted his arms above his head, beginning to stretch. He closed his eyes and let out a soft grunt as he did so, enjoying the feeling. Roxas had slept in one position for most of the night, so he was a little stiff. But he was sure that would disappear as he stretched.

 

Namine gave her dog one last ear rub before she rose to her feet, her eyes wandering to the foyer behind her. She saw Ty's leash near her and she took a step over, grabbing it and latching it onto the dog's collar. She definitely wouldn't go through the city without having a leash on him--he would get excited and run off and most likely get into trouble.

 

Roxas let out a sigh as he finally relaxed his muscles, his arms bending over his head somewhat before he let them fall back to his sides. He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair as he started to approach Namine.

 

Namine saw Roxas coming toward her out of the corner of her eye, but she allowed her eyes to wander down to her hands instead of looking at him. Whenever she looked in his eyes, she felt...well, she didn't know. It was a good feeling, but it also was so extreme that she didn't know if she could handle it. She gripped the end of Ty's leash in her hand, making sure to have a tight hold.

 

"Uh, I guess...I'll see you later?" As he approached Namine, Roxas made a face, an awkward smile accompanied by softened eyes and slightly lifted eyebrows. He really couldn't describe what he was feeling, mostly because he hadn't been like this in a while--feeling like he was back to hoping and wishing Namine would hang out with him some more, or say yes to an invite of some sort. Too bad he didn't know of anything to do today...

 

Namine looked up and saw the expression on Roxas' face--it was a bit awkward, but it was also filled with hope. Hope that they would see each other again soon. Namine felt a genuine smile appear on her face as she looked into his eyes. "I'd like that," she said softly.

 

Roxas's awkward smile turned into a real one at Namine's words, the smile reaching his bright eyes. He nodded, happy to hear those words. His gaze stayed fixed on Namine's as he stood near her. This kind of showed that not much had changed since the memory loss--she was still willing to hang out with him.

 

Namine held Roxas' gaze, but then she felt herself grow shy again. She looked down at the ground, feeling some heat rising to her cheeks. She wasn't sure how exactly she should end this...but she did need to end it soon for Ty's sake.

 

"Um..." Roxas lifted a hand to the back of his head, rubbing over the hair there as he thought of something to say. "...Be careful on your way home, okay?" He didn't want anything to happen to her, not like yesterday.
