Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine's eyes wandered briefly to Ty before she looked back up at Roxas. "I will," she promised. Roxas was probably remembering what happened yesterday. It was an unfortunate event, but she wasn't afraid of anything bad happening today. After all, she was keeping Ty on a tight leash...literally.

 

Roxas let his hand fall and smiled. He nodded once and kept his eyes on her. "I guess...I'll see you soon, then," he said softly. Invite her somewhere! his inner voice kept telling him. Don't miss your chance!

 

Namine nodded softly. "Okay," she said quietly, a small smile on her lips. She didn't know when that would be, but she hoped it would be soon. The blond turned slightly, clicking her tongue for Ty to follow her. She took a few steps out of the living room, into the entrance hall.

 

Roxas dropped his sight to the floor, blinking in thought. After a second, he stepped out into the foyer. "Namine, wait!" he called, blue eyes on the back of the girl's blonde head. For some reason, he felt nervous. This was Namine--the girl he loved and was very comfortable with. But at the same time, she wasn't Namine. He could only label her memory loss as the reason.

 

Namine stopped at the voice, spinning around to face Roxas. "What is it?" she asked, curiosity showing on her features. His tone of voice was strange, but she couldn't quite identify how it was different than normal.

 

Roxas ran a hand through his hair again, something he did when unsure or nervous. "Uh, would you...wanna hang out later on today?" he started, looking up at her. "You know, with me, Kairi, and Sora?" If she wasn't comfortable being alone with him, especially if his feelings were beginning to be obvious to her, then having Sora and Kairi around would help.

 

Namine smiled faintly. She was really glad Roxas had asked; it showed that things weren't too awkward around her anymore. That, and it showed that he genuinely cared and wanted her to be able to connect with her friends. Of course, his genuineness was something she had never questioned. "Sure," she said, accepting the invitation without hesitation.

 

Roxas smiled. "Great. I'll stop by later on today," he said gently, happiness in his voice. Whatever it was they were all going to do, Roxas needed to inform Sora and Kairi.

 

Namine nodded slightly, her smile widening. Roxas' happiness was contagious. "Okay," she said with a smile. She held his gaze for a moment before turning to the side slightly and setting a hand on the door knob.

 

Roxas watched her in silence, his small smile on his face. A part of him was sad to see her go. It felt like they were finally starting to...connect. But he knew that she had some responsibilities to take care of, so he understood. He would see her later anyway, and just the thought made him happy.

 

Namine opened the door, a gust of warm air greeting her. She took a step forward, but then turned back to face Roxas. "I'll see you later," she said softly, a small smile still on her lips.

 

Roxas nodded without hesitation, his smile softening somewhat. He lifted a hand and waved lightly to the girl, sad to see her leave. But he knew that once she walked out that door, he would be ready for the moment he would see her again.

 

Namine and Ty stepped outside, Namine gently shutting the door behind her. She stood on the porch for a brief moment, exhaling a silent breath. She was already looking forward to whatever the night had in store for her. A soft smile appeared on her face as she walked forward, heading for home.

 

Roxas felt his small smile stretch into a big grin as soon as the door closed. Namine always seemed to have that effect on him, but he felt it was something more. He knew, though, that it of course involved her. Excitement, maybe? He didn't know, but he accepted it, whatever it was.

 

Namine walked down the pathway and then walked down the sidewalk, her feet knowing the way home. Yesterday, she hadn't even remembered who Roxas was...or where he lived. But now she felt as if she were leaving a place a lot like home.

Kairi walked a few steps behind the blond boy in front of her. She wasn't sure exactly where they were going, but she knew they were certainly doing something. Regardless, she looked forward to it. She always had fun with her friends, and since Namine was coming with, Kairi felt that maybe being with all three of them together would trigger some lost memory.

Roxas walked a little bit ahead of his two friends, hands in his pockets as he walked along the sidewalk. Namine's house was just ahead, and he couldn't deny that he was excited to see her. He'd been looking forward to this all day. The gang had recently found a spot with pretty tasty smoothies; maybe they could stop by there while they figured out something to do...

 

Namine brushed through her hair one last time, in the bathroom preparing herself. She didn't know where she would be going, but since she was going to be with her friends, she was excited. And whenever she felt excited or nervous, she always tried to make herself look a little prettier. So today, she had put on a small amount of mascara (which made her blue eyes look even brighter than usual) and a bit of eyeshadow. It was hardly noticeable, but it made her feel better.

Sora walked behind Roxas, his hand holding Kairi's lightly. Roxas had explained to him over the phone that he had the idea they could go get smoothies and then come up with an idea of something fun to do that night, and Sora agreed to go along with the plan. Obviously Roxas wanted to be near Namine, and since Sora was friends with her as well, he wanted to be with her too. Just not in the same way as Roxas.

 

Kairi kept her gentle grip on Sora's hand as she looked up at the sky. No clouds in sight, and the sun was bright, the sky a beautiful blue. A few birds flew high in the sky, the chirping entering her ears. Today was a wonderful day, and since she was with her friends--even better.

Roxas saw Namine's house within his sight, his lips spreading into a smile. He just had this feeling--this feeling that things were going to go over well today, maybe even great. He couldn't put his finger on it, or what was causing it, but he didn't care either way. All Roxas cared about was spending time with his friends again, especially after what happened just a while ago.

 

Namine exhaled a silent breath, exiting the room and heading toward the living room. She had already laid her light jacket over the edge of the couch. Even though it was summer, she knew that it could get cooler depending on how late they were out. She reached for it and put it on, the light brown complimenting the soft blue shirt she had on underneath. Today was going to be a good day...she just knew it.

Sora caught onto a familiar site--Namine's house, coming up into view as they got closer. The brunette looked at Roxas from behind, thinking. I really hope this works out tonight, man, he thought. You guys both deserve something good in your lives.

 

Kairi let her gaze drop to the ground, seeing her black flip flops in view. She dressed lightly today, knowing how warm the weather was currently. The light-colored jeans she was wearing were cool enough for her, along with the lavender color shirt she had on. She loved not having to wear sweaters anymore--she had always been a fan of warmer weather.

Roxas felt a tingling somewhere within him, and he briefly glanced back at his two friends. That's strange... he thought, looking ahead just as quick. He shook it off, his thoughts focusing back on Namine. Looking down at his attire as he thought, he hoped he looked alright. Wait, what was he saying? This was Namine--she would accept him no matter what he looked like, right?
