Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Sora stopped drinking his smoothie, suddenly feeling sick to his stomach at the thought of that terrible first smoothie. "Ugh, don't remind me!" he said with a laugh. "That was terrible."

Namine was a little hesitant to join the conversation, but at the same time, she wanted to talk--maybe it would help her remember more. And it would prove to her friends that she was alright. They were trying to hide their concern over her, but she could still see some of it in their eyes. "The Sandy Smoothie is pretty bad too, if I remember correctly." Though she didn't remember all the details about it, that was actually her first smoothie at this cafe.

 

Kairi's smile remained on her face as she looked at her friend. "You remember that one?" she asked, both in laughter and in surprise. Namine actually remembered that?

Roxas felt his smile grow, looking at the blonde next to him. "I remember your face when you took your first sip," he laughed, grin on his lips. "That was probably one of the most unpleasant faces I've ever seen you make." He continued to chuckle at the memory of it--Namine had looked like she was really disgusted, but at the same time the expression on her face had been adorable.

 

Namine smiled, a giggle leaving her lips. "But I'm sure you won't hold that against me," she said with a laugh. "Your expression when you tasted the Lemon Grass Smoothie must have been pretty bad too." Unfortunately, she didn't remember what facial expression Roxas had at the moment he tasted it, but she imagined it was pretty funny.

"I think I have a picture of it on my cell phone," Sora said with a grin. Roxas had ordered him to get rid of it, but of course Sora had kept it to tick off his friend. He knew Roxas wouldn't be mad about it...just embarrassed. Sometimes, Sora had to pick on his friend like that--it was just how things were.

 

Roxas's eyes widened, his head whipping in Sora's direction. "What?! You were supposed to delete that!" he hollered over the music. He would have been using a loud voice anyways, due to the shock that he was experiencing. Even over the music he could hear Kairi's laughter, undoubtedly at his reaction and the situation.

 

Namine giggled, bringing a hand to her mouth. That was something she always did when she was trying to contain her laughter.

Sora grinned, reaching into his pocket. He lifted up his cell phone, gripping it tightly in his hand. "Nope," he said with a smile. "I got it right here. You didn't think I'd let you off the hook that easily, did you?" He and Roxas always had some friendly competition, seeing who could conquer whom. Like the snowball fight last winter, when Sora managed to tackle Roxas two times.

 

Roxas looked from Sora to the phone, and then back again. He gave Sora a look, pressing his lips together suddenly before he lifted a hand and brought it forward to try and snatch the phone from his best friend's grasp. Roxas always did whatever it took to keep him from experiencing embarrassing moments.

 

Sora grinned widely and pulled the phone away. He had expected Roxas would make a move like that--that's that Sora would have done if the situation had been reversed. "Namine, you wanna see?" he asked the blond girl, a smile still on his lips.

Namine suppressed her giggles, a smile still present on her lips. "Sure," she said.

 

Roxas felt himself begin to panic, eyes growing even more...if that were possible. "No! No, you don't!" he said to Namine. His gaze quickly turned back to Sora, desperate. "No, she doesn't wanna see it!" he cried. Roxas had a feeling his efforts were useless, and that was bad, especially for him.

Kairi couldn't help herself, her laughter spilling out of her. She couldn't hold it inside, not with Roxas's expression. His reaction was so typical, the boy scared for Namine to see the expression he had held that one day. She'd seen it, and she remembered it. It was definitely something worth seeing.

 

Sora laughed, gripping the phone and holding it by his side. He just had to laugh--Roxas was being pretty bad at that moment, sicne he was trying to make the embarrassing photo go away. But both boys knew that wasn't going to happen.

Namine laughed, looking over at the red headed girl who couldn't contain her giggles. "What do you think, Kairi? Should I see it?" She was having much more fun with seeing Roxas' frantic expression than she should have, but she had a feeling that her behavior wasn't strange. After all, everyone around her was having a great time, and so was she.

 

Kairi took in a breath, containing her giggles for a minute as she contemplated that decision. Well, she wasn't really the kind of person that would encourage teasing or silly-business, but this was different. This was all her friends having a great time, even Roxas. He may have been begging for now, but later he would laugh about it. The expression he was giving her was heartbreaking, but at the same time, she still couldn't say no.

Roxas gave her a pleading look, eyes wide and begging. "Kairi...come on," he said, his voice representing his desperation. He really didn't want Sora to show that picture to Namine. It was embarrassing, and that was the worst part about it.

Kairi fought her laughter, giving Roxas the sincerest look she could manage. It didn't work so well, as she smiled and shook her head. "I'm sorry, Roxas," she said, chuckling a little. This was just something Namine couldn't pass up. Plus, this was Namine--she wouldn't hold it against Roxas.

 

While Roxas was busy trying to convince Kairi, Sora motioned for Namine to rise to her feet. He rose at the same time he did, both of them standing behind Kairi now. That way, Roxas wouldn't be able to steal the phone right out of Namine's hands.

Namine moved herself and stood next to Sora, looking down at the phone he held in his hands. While he tried to find the picture, she gave Roxas the most sincere smile she could muster. Really, though, they were all just being goofy, and Roxas knew it. This whole thing was pretty funny.

"Here it is," Sora said with a smile, his lips widening into a grin. He gave Roxas a smile before he looked back down at the phone, both him and Namine looking at the embarrassing snapshot.

 

Roxas caught the smiles, one genuine and the other triumphant, no doubt. Once they actually looked at the picture, Roxas let his head fall to the table, forehead meeting the tabletop. "Oh, no," he groaned softly, feeling his cheeks already begin to flare.

Kairi giggled lightly, looking up as if to see the ceiling and seeing her friends in view. She then looked back at the boy across from her. "Aw, Roxas. It's okay. You know we're just kidding," she tried, smiling all the while. It was funny, and he surely knew it. If she knew him like she thought she did, Roxas would let out a few laughs pretty soon, too.

 

Namine's eyes widened slightly at the picture, her smile widening. "That's a pretty bad face," she said, her giggles turning into full-blown laughter. She couldn't suppress it now even if she wanted to; that picture was just too funny!

"And I've already uploaded it to the internet," Sora said with a laugh. In reality, he hadn't done that; the teen just wanted to get a reaction out of Roxas.

 

Roxas lifted his head, eyes wide. "You what?" he exclaimed. The boy's eyes stayed on Sora for a minute before moving to Namine, who was laughing from the picture. His eyes then found his best friend again, seeing the look on his face.

Kairi covered her mouth, trying her hardest not to laugh. Poor Roxas, taking all of the taunting.

 

Sora laughed, looking at his best friend. "I'm joking, Roxas," he said through his laughter. "I wouldn't take things that far." Okay, so maybe he would have if he hadn't thought things over and acted rashly. He'd been better with thinking about consequences lately, and he knew from the start that if he let anyone else see that picture of Roxas, he was in a heap of trouble.

 

Roxas sighed with relief, his eyes falling to the table as he ran a hand through his hair. That was relieving...

Kairi's laughter finally died down, and she smiled sincerely at him. "Hey, at least you can still find some of your dignity in your music, Roxas," she said, still feeling a bit of taunting within her. It was true, he really was a great musician. Too bad he didn't perform more often.

 

Namine looked down at the cell phone one last time, her eyes catching onto the movement as Sora snapped his phone shut. The blond girl looked over to the boy, seeing him looking at her with a cheesy grin. She couldn't help but let a few giggles before she turned to face Roxas, having heard the words Kairi said. His music...that's right, he wrote songs and played guitar. She remembered that because of the dream she had experienced the night before.

Sora smiled. "She's right about that," Sora said in agreement. As much fun as it was teasing Roxas, Sora knew that he had gotten in enough taunting for one day. He was sure that Roxas was already planning his revenge...somehow. And he'd deliver it when it was least expected, most likely.

 

Roxas smiled somewhat, though he could still feel heat coming from his cheeks. Yeah, he was embarrassed, but he knew his music was nothing to be embarrassed about. That was something he was actually good at, among a few other things. "Thanks. But being a taste-tester is definitely out of the question," he joked, chuckling a little.

Kairi giggled a little, nodding in agreement. "Yeah...I don't think that's your forte," she said, smiling as she shook her head.

 

Namine smiled, a few chuckles leaving her lips. She turned and took a few steps back, returning to her seat besides Roxas. She didn't feel bad about teasing him before...he was taking it in stride, so obviously it wasn't that big of a deal now.

Sora moved back to his seat besides Kairi, his cell phone back in his pocket now. "You write anything lately?" he asked his friend, sitting down again as he looked at Roxas. Under the table, he lightly sat his hand on Kairi's knee, but his eyes stayed on Roxas.

 

Roxas ruffled his hair again, his eyes darting to all three of his friends. "Um...yeah, maybe a little something," he said. With all of the worries and stress having left for a couple months, he had enough time to sit down and actually write for once.

Kairi smiled, both at the small action from Sora and Roxas's...shyness? His embarrassment was apparently gone for now, since the topic had switched over so quickly. He was probably thankful for that.
