Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine looked up when she felt the hold around her tighten, her eyes immediately finding the source. Roxas, she thought, tears appearing in her eyes. She snuggled closer to him and shed a few tears, head in his neck. The tears were tears of joy--finally, she recovered everything she lost. Finally she was in the arms of her true love and she finally realized how strong their love really was. Finally, things had fallen into place again.

 

Roxas, even in his rest, could sense something...something wrong. He couldn't tell what it was in his sleep, but it caused him to bring Namine closer to him in silence. He could feel his sleep lightening, but nonetheless he remained unconscious.

 

Namine gripped Roxas more tightly, tears continuing to flow. She was so incredibly happy...and yet, there was some lingering sadness. The sadness was caused by the fact that all this had happened in the first place. Now was the first time she remembered being taken away at that mall since she fell into her second coma. But still, things were alright. She was in Roxas' arms again, and their love had survived even this trial. Everything was okay.

 

Roxas exhaled softly, though he was slightly aware of wetness on his neck. What...is that? he wondered, still asleep. His eyes remained closed, his unconsciousness not light enough to allow him to awaken just yet.

 

Namine exhaled a shaky breath, pulling herself even closer to Roxas. For every tear of sadness she cried, there were two tears of joy. This reflected how she always set herself up to think; the good things always counted for more than the bad. No matter what.

 

Roxas made a soft sound as his head moved a little, the boy beginning to come out of his slumber. The heaviness of his sleep was lifting more now, and the boy could hear soft breathing beside him, and something really close to him. "...Namine?" the boy asked very softly, tiredly, his eyebrows furrowing as his eyes remained closed.

 

Namine brought her head away, her teary eyes opening. "Yes," she said softly, bringing a hand to Roxas' cheek. She felt a small smile start to appear on her lips; Roxas was always so cute when he was groggy.

 

The touch caused Roxas's eyes to crack open tiredly, along with the girl's tone. It sounded...shaky? Roxas blinked a few times to clear the haze so he could see Namine better, making a quiet noise in drowsiness. But once his eyes clearly connected with Namine's, they widened and that grogginess was gone. "...Namine? Namine, what's wrong?" he asked, his tone worried, but at the same time still a little sleepy. "Did you have nightmares again?"

 

Namine smiled softly, her thumb stroking her cheek. "No," she said calmly. "I didn't have any nightmares." The happiness was swelling up inside her, and she desperately just wanted to tell Roxas that things were alright. But she was still a little surprised herself, and she was finding that the words weren't easy to put together when she was so excited.

 

Roxas blinked hard, trying to wake himself up some more. "Then...why are you crying?" he asked, trying to make himself lift his hand to wipe away her tears. But still, his grogginess was heavier than he originally thought.

 

Namine brought her head up slightly and gave Roxas a light peck on the cheek. "Because I'm happy," she said simply, her smile widening. Roxas...oh how do I tell you?! she wondered, her smile growing. She didn't want to keep him confused anymore, she just wanted to say it. But the words wouldn't leave her lips.

 

The boy brought up one hand and rubbed his knuckles against one of his eyes. "Happy?" he asked, letting his hand fall. He was still half out of it, but he knew he had to wake up. "Is it because there weren't any nightmares?" Of course, he said this a little slowly, grogginess still affecting him a bit.

 

Namine laughed softly. "No, that's not it," she responded, enjoying every moment of Roxas' cute grogginess. "Keep guessing," she encouraged, the girl moving her hand back to the side of his head as she kept her clear eyes on him.

 

Roxas blinked, staring at her in confusion. His drowsiness was so not helping. "...You got enough sleep?" he tried again, slightly tired blue eyes gazing into Namine's watery orbs.

 

Namine laughed again. "Roxas!" she exclaimed, bringing her hand away from his face. "I'm not happy because I didn't have nightmares or because I got enough sleep; I got my memories back!" There! She said it, and she couldn't have been more excited to have let Roxas in on it.

 

Her excitement definitely woke Roxas up, but what she said still kept him in the blurry haze he already had from being too groggy. He blinked a couple times, eyes staring at Namine. "Wait...what?" he asked in disbelief. Did he really just hear that right? Or is he still so tired that he's misinterpreting things?

 

Namine smiled and hugged Roxas tightly, her head on his shoulder. "Mmhmm," she hummed, holding him tightly. She shut her eyes again, but only because she felt like tears were welling up again.

 

"You..." Roxas's face formed a confused expression as he looked down at his lap. "You...remembered?" he said again, his voice representing his disbelief. He just couldn't grasp it, even if he was mostly awake now.

 

Namine laughed softly. "Yes, Roxas, I remember," she said, knowing that she had to be patient now. Maybe she should have waited until Roxas was fully awake before she broke the news to him. After all, it was a really big deal.

 

Roxas gasped, turning toward Namine. He couldn't control it. "Namine! You actually remember everything?!" he asked, excited now. His lips were beginning to form a big grin, something he couldn't help. "But...but how?"
