Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

Namine felt herself smile at Roxas' "pet" voice. Even his voice changed when he spoke to Ty. She had noticed it before, but she had never really thought about it. But when she felt a pair of eyes on her, she dropped the chain of thought and looked up at Roxas. "Five o' clock sound alright?"

 

Roxas nodded. "Sounds great," he said softly. He then took a few steps over before bending down, placing his hand on the side of Namine's head as he kissed her forehead. He pulled back and straightened, looking down at her. "I'll see you then," he told her with a small smile.

 

"See you then," Namine repeated softly, a small smile spreading on her lips. Gosh, she loved seeing him so happy. There was nothing more that she needed except to see Roxas genuinely happy again. It's true he had been happy during the past week, but now that the sadness of her memory loss was completely gone, both of them could be totally happy.

 

Later that day...

Roxas had his hands stuffed in his pockets again as he made his way down the street. He was on his way to Namine's to pick her up for their night out with Sora and Kairi--a double date, really. What Namine didn't know, though, was that it was around four o' clock, the boy coming an hour earlier than what they had originally planned.

 

After Namine had called her friends and shared the wonderful news, she spent the morning tuning up her guitar skills. She hadn't played for a little while...not since before everything happened. And because of how her day had gone so far, she felt inspired to play through the song she and Kairi had done as a duet. But after that (and some lunch), she started feeling tired again. So now she was lying on her bed, her loyal dog on the end of the bed. He was being used as a pillow for the past few hours, and he still hadn't budged an inch.

 

Roxas turned his head away from the street, having just watched a car pass by. Seeing Namine's house just ahead, he smiled to himself. He'd been wanting to see her all day, even if he had just seen her that morning. But after such a great thing happened to her, all he wanted was to be with her. As Roxas skipped up the porch steps, his smile grew. He couldn't wait for tonight to actually begin, even if he was an hour early.

 

Namine silently exhaled, unaware of the time. She had somehow known she wouldn't just be resting her eyes when she laid down on her bed four hours ago. For this reason, she had set an alarm on her cell phone that would go off at exactly four o' clock, an hour before Roxas was supposed to arrive.

 

Roxas pulled the key to Namine's home out of his pocket, sticking it in the lock before opening the door. He lightly shut it once he was inside, making sure to turn the lock on it for safety reasons. Roxas stuck the key back in his pocket as he took a few steps into the house, nothing but silence greeting him. Not even Ty came around the corner. "Namine?" the boy called gently, looking in the living room. There was nobody in sight, the same atmosphere in the kitchen as well.

 

Namine was unaware when Ty perked up at the voice. However, the dog didn't move from his spot. Not only was it because he recognized that it was Roxas' voice and he wasn't a threat, but he also didn't want to awaken the girl who was sleeping with her head on him.

 

Roxas looked around, curious. Where was she? And where was Ty? Roxas thought that he would at least be here somewhere... The boy arched an eyebrow as he approached the hallway, suddenly getting the suspicion that the girl and her loyal pet were in her room. Maybe.

 

Namine inhaled a breath and then exhaled, the girl laying on her side on her bed. It was almost four, but she was still zonked out, exhausted from the past few nights of only three hours of sleep. However, she was sure that her sleep patterns would return to normally fairly quickly now that the nightmares were over.

 

"Nam?" Roxas called again, his voice gentle. He passed the bathroom; nobody in there. "Ty?" He saw a door near the end of the hallway, sunlight pouring from the room. Roxas approached it quietly. "Namine...?" His voice faded as he came to a stop in the door, finding the girl he was searching for in her bedroom, asleep on her bed. And there was Ty, acting as her pillow. His curious eyes immediately softened, a small smile forming at the sight.

 

Ty looked over at Roxas in the doorway, but he didn't move. In fact, he didn't even wag his tail, knowing that even that small movement could awaken his master. About ten seconds later, though, it didn't matter. The clock struck four and Namine's phone started to go off, a song called "You and Me" playing loudly. The girl furrowed her brows slightly in tiredness and pulled the phone out of her pocket, turning off the alarm without even looking opening her eyes.

 

Roxas felt his small smile widen slightly as he watched Namine's movements. She was adorable when she was sleepy. He leaned his shoulder against the doorframe in silence, not wanting to disturb the serenity of the moment, or wake Namine anymore than she was.

 

Namine slowly opened her eyes, a hand coming up onto Ty's fur coat. After a brief moment, she lifted her cell phone closer to her face and flipped it open. Seeing the time, she slowly pushed herself into a sitting position, bringing up a hand as she sleepily tucked back a strand of long blond hair.

 

Roxas couldn't fight the urge to smile, his lips spreading to reveal a little of his teeth. While the girl was still half-asleep (and absolutely adorable), Roxas made his way over to her bedside silently. She probably wasn't even aware that he was there, but he was going to prove his presence in her home. Roxas found himself behind Namine, the boy's eyes on her as he put one knee on the bed to support himself, wrapping his arms around her.

 

Namine opened her eyes a little more at the touch, surprised but not shocked. This wasn't the first time this week she had woken up to find somebody else with her, and judging by the soft touch, she knew who it was. Roxas. She let her eyes flicker shut again as she allowed herself to lean back into him, her head against his shoulder.

 

Roxas hold tightend on Namine a little when she leaned into him. He turned his head toward her slightly, still smiling. "Welcome back," he whispered. Who knew this was what he would find when he came over earlier than she thought?

 

Namine smiled softly, her blue eyes staying shut due to her tiredness. "You're early," she whispered, those being the only words she could think to say at that moment. She felt so warm, so comfortable, that it felt like she would fall back asleep. But she forced herself to not only stay concious, but also wake up, since there was something important happening in less than an hour. What was that, again...?

 

Roxas's smile softened. "I thought I'd come surprise you," he told Namine gently. "And I just wanted to see you." He looked down at her, the boy still sitting down on the bed, knee supporting him. She looked exhausted, and he knew why.
