Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

"That's what I'm looking at too," Namine said, looking through her menu. She really didn't know what she wanted, but she was sure whatever she chose would be delicious.

"Maybe the veal," Sora murmured, looking at all the choices. He was almost as into his menu as Roxas was into the game earlier. It probably came off as a bit silly to Roxas, but only if the blond boy was paying attention.

 

Roxas glanced up at Sora when he only heard a low murmur, but he did catch the end. The look on Sora's face was humorous to Roxas, the boy looking back down at his menu to try and control the few chuckles that wanted to leave him.

Kairi, unaware of the interactions between the boys, kept her eyes on the menu. After a few seconds she responded to her own question. "I honestly don't know what to choose," she admitted softly. There were so many things to actually pick.

 

Sora hummed softly, but then thought he heard some chuckling. He looked up and saw that Roxas was pretending to be engrossed in his menu. "Something funny, Roxas?" he asked, a small smirk appearing on his face. Whatever it was, it must have been pretty funny.

Namine looked at Roxas, having heard the soft laughter as well. What was he laughing about?

 

Kairi looked up at Sora's question, a look of confusion coming across her face.

Roxas pressed his lips together, silencing himself. He shook his head, fighting the chuckles. "Nope," he managed. Of course that wasn't the case--Sora's expression had been very funny, even if he didn't know what exactly he was making the face for.

 

Sora arched a brow slightly, not believing his friend. "What, do I have to drag it out of you?" Sora teased. "Or should I just get out that embarrassing picture of you from the cafe?" Of course, Sora was referring to the one that he showed Kairi about a week ago when they all went out for smoothies.

 

Roxas's laughter faded, his eyes finding Sora immediately. His eyebrows lowered in caution, the blonde giving his friend a warning look. "You wouldn't," he said lowly. Not again... Roxas didn't think he could handle that again, especially in front of all of these people.

Kairi pressed her lips together, remembering that photo Sora had shown Namine last week. But Roxas's expression he was giving to Sora was causing Kairi to hold in her laughter. He was so serious now, completely different than just a few seconds before.

 

Sora felt a smirk appear on his lips, but he stayed silent. Roxas would be able to tell by the look on his face that he was willing to do whatever it took to get Roxas to do what he wanted. It was nice, having some leverage in their unspoken competition.

Namine tried to stifle her giggles, bringing a hand to her lips. She really couldn't help it; not only was the real moment funny, but the picture was hilarious. She hated seeing Roxas tormented, but since it was all fun and games, she felt a little better.

 

Roxas stared at Sora, the same expression held against his features. What was ironic was that they were on the subject of his face back at the cafe, and that Roxas was actually laughing about Sora's face now. Thinking about it again, Roxas felt his lip curl into a smirk, the boy fighting hard to not let the chuckles be audible as he pictured Sora's face again.

Kairi glanced between the two boys, trying to hold in her laughter still. Sora seemed confident, but Roxas was...different. He was just so serious, but now he was looking like he was...struggling?

 

Sora crossed his arms and leaned back into the booth, giving Roxas a playful, yet confused, glare. Roxas was...chuckling? That certainty wasn't a good sign; that either meant he didn't care about the picture or he had something bigger to use against Sora.

 

Kairi ached an eyebrow, yet still amused. "Roxas? What is it?" she asked, a small giggle escaping her.

The question was enough to set Roxas off. Once Kairi asked, the picture of Sora's face was clear as day in his mind, making him release a chuckle before more immediately followed. Roxas tried to keep his laughter soft as he let his menu rest on the table, the boy shaking his head as he laughed.

 

Namine looked from Sora to Roxas, confused. What was going on here? She would ask Roxas for herself, but she had a feeling he would laugh more if he was spoken to again. So she kept her curious eyes on him, a small smile appearing on her lips because of his laughter.

"Roxas," Sora warned, his voice threatening. He had a feeling Roxas had something he could use as leverage against him, and the thought made him nervous. Was it that good that Roxas couldn't control his laughter? He wanted to know what was going on!

 

Sora's warning didn't get through to the blond. Roxas's eyes squeezed shut as he laughed, keeping it as quiet as he could. Even through his fit of laughter, he didn't want to disturb anyone else's dinner. But still, Sora's face! It had been so funny, and he didn't even know why Sora was making the face in the first place.

Kairi covered her mouth so she wouldn't laugh, trying to control the urge as she glanced from Roxas to Sora. The latter seemed a little anxious, and she wasn't sure what for. She didn't even know what was so funny!

 

Sora arched a brow and crossed his arms more tightly. "What's so funny?" he pressured, knowing that he didn't pose any threat to Roxas anymore. Apparently he had something greater than the picture from the cafe, and Sora didn't like that thought. He wanted Roxas to just come out and say it; the pressure was driving him crazy!

Namine felt uterly confused. "Roxas?" she inquired, finally deciding to speak. She kept her curious blue eyes on him, waiting for an answer. What in the world was so funny?!

 

Roxas chuckled some more before opening his eyes. He pointed at the boy across from him. "Sora--" he tried, having to stop for laughter. "Sora's--Sora's face," he laughed, managing only that much. He knew his friends were confused, but it was so funny to him.

Kairi arched an eyebrow, mouth still covered. She wasn't sure if she should laugh or act confused. Sora's face?

 

Sora furrowed his brows, now completely confused. "What's wrong with my face?" he asked. I haven't had food yet, so there isn't anything sticking to it, he thought. So what could Roxas possibly be referring to?

Namine agreed with Sora's question; Roxas was being very unclear here. Sora's face? The only thing she noticed now was how confused he looked, and that wasn't anything hilarious to her...

 

Roxas chuckled before answering. "The face you made--" he started, laughing still. "--It was so funny." He shook his head again, picturing it once more. As subtle as it was at the time, Roxas had caught it. And Roxas thought it was hilarious, even if the others had no idea.

 

Sora arched a brow. "When did I make a face?" he asked. "And do you have a picture of it like I have a picture of yours?" he teased, suddenly becoming a bit more playful If Roxas didn't have it stored anywhere other than his memory, then Sora was in luck.

 

Roxas shook his head, chuckling. "Unfortunately I don't," he admitted, grinning like a fool. "But it--haha--it was when you were looking at your--your menu." He continued laughing, his abs starting to hurt.

Kairi stared at the blond boy, the smile on her lips from his continuous laughter. Sora's face must have been pretty funny, because Roxas was definitely laughing hysterically.

 

Sora felt a satisfied smirk appear on his lips. "Well then," he started while discretely pulling his phone out of his pocket. "Then you have nothing against me." He opened the phone and immediately brought up Roxas' picture. "Here it is," he said with a smile, showing the picture to the boy across from him.

Namine caught a glimpse of the picture herself and started giggling again. She put a hand on Roxas' arm in support, but she couldn't hide her growing laughter. She turned her head away so that he couldn't see her laughing as much.

 

Roxas opened his eyes to see the phone in front of him, and immediately his laughing stopped, his eyes growing before narrowing. He brought his arm up and immediately snatched the phone from Sora's grasp.

Kairi chuckled at Roxas's expression, and the way his laughter suddenly died. It was like something you would see in a movie, like a comedy.
