Fast Food Madness: The Epic Return

After a few moments of silence, Namine guessed that the boys had given up. She slowly turned in her seat, but her eyes widened when she caught Sora still giving her the look. And then she turned to look at Roxas.

 

Roxas instantly softened his eyes, widening them a bit as he poked his lower lip out. The mask was back on, and hopefully it would work. No words needed to be said; it was obvious what he and Sora both wanted, opposing each other of course.

Kairi broke out into another fit of giggles, glancing from boy to boy and then to Namine. The poor girl...

 

Sora chuckled at the change in Roxas. He had to admit, Roxas had a pretty good puppy-dog face as well. And since he was in a relationship with Namine, that probably helped things for him.

Namine sighed dramatically, turning away from Roxas. "You two are driving me crazy!" she cried, though she couldn't suppress the happy blush and smile that were appearing on her lips. She leaned her elbows on the table and lifted her hands, hiding her face in them.

 

"But it's a good cwazy, wight Nam?" Roxas said, thickening the puppy act. He wasn't really sure if he was for winning the battle anymore between Sora; he was sure that drive was still there, but he was having fun with this. Namine's reactions were so cute.

"Roxas," Kairi laughed, her hands still holding her menu. She had forgotten they were in the restaurant, but gosh, this was funny. Roxas was being so ridiculous, but in a funny way.

 

"Well," Sora started. "Crazy isn't good at all! I understand how you feel Namine, so much pressure!" he exclaimed. He decided that he couldn't compete with Roxas' cutesy act or he would get punched in the face. After all, that was really something only a boyfriend could pull off.

Namine kept her hands to her eyes, a dramatic cry of frustration and amusement leaving her lips. But she couldn't suppress her laughter anymore; her body was shaking with them. And she even felt tears coming into her eyes she was laughing so hard.

 

Roxas glanced at Sora, the puppy act still on. He huffed. "Sowa," he said. Roxas fought to keep his expression the same, not wanting to laugh, even at himself. His eyes darted back to Namine, and it was even harder to keep his expression under control. But he did it successfully.

Kairi brought a hand to her forehead, laughing softly. How was this night going to carry on? At this rate, she was looking forward to what was in store.

 

Sora gave Roxas a weird look. "Oh how the mighty have fallen," he said with a wink. "All of this because of one picture. Honestly, I'd say this is much better leverage than the picture."

Namine brought her head out of her hands, giving a desperate look to Kairi. "Help me," she silently mouthed before she felt more giggles come on. She tried her best to silent them, shutting her eyes as she brought a hand to her lips.

 

Roxas turned to Sora and really did pout this time, not liking the sound of that. But...but he was doing it too! Just a second ago!

Kairi nodded and took in a breath, calming herself enough to speak. "Okay, you two. I think we get it," she said with a small laugh. She then looked at the boy beside her. "And remember, Sora--Roxas has this one on you too. You are the one who started it all." Kairi didn't mean to go against the boy she loved, but it was the truth.

Roxas's eyes widened and he laughed. "Aha!" he cried, pointing a finger at Sora. "Justice!"

 

Sora rolled his eyes, a smirk appearing on his lips. "Oh, please! Whatever face I made wasn't nearly as funny as seeing Roxas acting like..." Sora didn't know how to describe it, not at all. It couldn't even be put into words.

"A sad puppy dog?" Namine inserted, filling in the blank for Sora.

"Aha!" Sora laughed. "That's exactly what I wanted to say." He grinned over at the blond girl. "Thanks Namine."

 

Kairi giggled. "That may be," she began, "but that wasn't what I was really talking about. Who was the one who made the puppy eyes first?" She gave Sora a suggestive look, arching an eyebrow at him.

Roxas smirked, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms. Finally, somebody was on his side. About time, he thought.

 

Sora's smirk faded for a moment, but then he smiled again. "But at least I knew when to stop!" he said, laughing again. "I didn't stoop as low as Roxas with this one."

Namine smiled softly, this time deciding to stay silent. In a way, she did agree with Sora...he had stopped the puppy dog look much sooner than Roxas had. And she was sure if Kairi hadn't stepped in, then Roxas would still be acting the same way at that very moment.

 

Roxas's eyes widened, his smirk disappearing. He then looked down at the table, glaring. "I didn't stoop low..." he mumbled.

Kairi smiled weakly, giggling once. She knew it was all fun and games, right? She hoped Roxas did as well.

 

Sora wiped off his smirk and put on a sincere smile, sensing a change in his best friend. "You did say 'Sowa' to me," he said with a few chuckles. "I guess you're better at the puppy-dog act then I thought." Sora put a hand to his chest, bowing slightly in his sitting position. "I guess...you won this round, Roxas."

 

Roxas looked up at his best friend, watching him with pursed lips before the words reached his ears. He started laughing, victory in his grasp . "Finally!" he cried. "Victory is mine!"

Kairi laughed, Roxas seeming really relieved at the moment. For a moment there, she thought he was upset. But maybe he was just playing around, going along with the joking. Now, though, he seemed like he was still the same boy she knew--goofy and silly, just like his other half. Of course, sometimes Roxas was a little more serious than his Somebody, but they usually had the same goofy behavior.

 

Sora leaned back in the booth, arms crossed against his chest. "Yeah, yeah, you win," he said, waving it off. "Now...can I have my phone back?"

Namine giggled at the whole situation; Sora and Roxas were just too funny together. She had really grown to miss hanging out together. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Roxas loosely holding the phone by his side. Without hesitation, she stole it out of his hand and hid it behind her back, a playful smile on her lips.

 

Roxas side-glanced at Namine when he felt the phone leave his hand, but then looked back at Sora. His grin stayed in place the boy bringing up his hands and shrugging. "What phone?" he said playfully.

Kairi's giggles had faded and now she looked at Roxas with a confused expression. Surely he was hiding it under the table, wasn't he? It would be a typical move.

 

Sora rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, Roxas," he started. "You should at least be original. We all know you're just hiding it under the table..." he leaned his head down as he spoke, looking underneath. There was nothing near Roxas. Namine, on the other hand, looked as if she had something in her folded hands. He brought his head back up, a confused expression crossing his face.

While Sora had been talking, she had folded her hands around the phone in her lap. It was the only thing she could have done to avoid unwanted attention. But Sora had probably noticed anyway.

 

Roxas noticed Sora's expression and his smile dimmed some. "See? I told you I didn't have it, man." Of course, it was hard to believe someone after getting into playful banter and enjoying those silly moments like they just did.

 

Sora furrowed his brows slightly. "You may not have it, but..." his bright blue orbs wandered over to Namine, the teen silently gazing at her. A serious expression was on his face as he tried to suppress a knowing smirk; Namine definitely had his phone.

 

Kairi looked over at Namine when Sora did, following his gaze. She arched an eyebrow at her in question. "Namine...?" The girl had been silent for the last few moments, opposite what had happened with the boys earlier.

Roxas smirked but didn't say anything, going back to his menu. He still hadn't decided what he wanted... Of course, this was a good way to distract himself so he wouldn't be blamed for either helping...or not helping Namine out. He did both, really... Roxas let her take the phone, but he wasn't saying anything to direct the attention away from her.
